1 Ouve, ó Deus, a minha voz na minha oração; guarda a minha vida do temor do inimigo.
2 Hide me from the secret [counsel] of the wicked, from the insurrection of the workers of iniquity:
2 Esconde-me do secreto conselho dos maus, e do tumulto dos que praticam a iniqüidade.
3 Who whet their tongue like a sword [and] bend [their bows to shoot] their arrows, [even] bitter words
3 Que afiaram as suas línguas como espadas; e armaram por suas flechas palavras amargas,
4 That they may shoot in secret at the perfect; suddenly do they shoot at him and fear not.
4 A fim de atirarem em lugar oculto ao que é íntegro; disparam sobre ele repentinamente, e não temem.
5 They encourage themselves [in] an evil matter; they attempt to hide the snares; they say, Who shall see them?
5 Firmam-se em mau intento; falam de armar laços secretamente, e dizem: Quem os verá?
6 They search out iniquities; they perfect and put into effect that which they have invented in the inward [thought] of each one [of them] and that which they have devised in their heart.
6 Andam inquirindo malícias, inquirem tudo o que se pode inquirir; e ambos, o íntimo pensamento de cada um deles, e o coração, são profundos.
7 But God shall shoot at them [with] an arrow; suddenly shall they be wounded.
7 Mas Deus atirará sobre eles uma seta, e de repente ficarão feridos.
8 So they shall make their own council and agreements to fall upon themselves; all that see them shall flee away.
8 Assim eles farão com que as suas línguas tropecem contra si mesmos; todos aqueles que os virem, fugirão.
9 And all men shall fear and shall declare the work of God, for they shall understand his doing.
9 E todos os homens temerão, e anunciarão a obra de Deus; e considerarão prudentemente os feitos dele.
10 The righteous shall be glad in the LORD and shall become secure in him, and all the upright in heart shall glory [in him].:
10 O justo se alegrará no Senhor, e confiará nele, e todos os retos de coração se gloriarão.
