¹ Halelu-JAH. Praise the LORD, O my soul.

¹ Aleluia! Louve, ó minha alma, o

² In my life I will praise the LORD; I will sing praises unto my God while I live.

² Louvarei o Senhor durante a minha vida; cantarei louvores ao meu Deus enquanto eu viver.

³ Put not your trust in princes, [nor] in son of man in whom [there is] no salvation.

³ Não confiem em príncipes, nem nos filhos dos homens, em quem não há salvação.

⁴ His spirit shall go forth, he shall return to his earth; in that very day all his thoughts shall perish.

⁴ Sai-lhes o espírito, e eles voltam ao pó; nesse mesmo dia, acabam todos os seus planos.

⁵ Happy [is he] who [has] the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope [is] in the LORD his God;

⁵ Bem-aventurado aquele que tem o Deus de Jacó por seu auxílio, cuja esperança está no seu Deus,

⁶ who made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that [is] therein; who keeps truth for ever:

⁶ que fez os céus e a terra, o mar e tudo o que neles há e mantém para sempre a sua fidelidade.

⁷ He who does justice unto the oppressed; who gives bread to the hungry. The LORD looses the prisoners:

⁷ Que faz justiça aos oprimidos e dá pão aos que têm fome. O

⁸ The LORD opens [the eyes of] the blind; the LORD raises those that are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous:

⁸ O Senhor abre os olhos aos cegos, o o

⁹ The LORD preserves the strangers; he raises up the fatherless and widow; but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.

⁹ O Senhor guarda o estrangeiro, ampara o órfão e a viúva, porém transtorna o caminho dos ímpios.

¹⁰ The LORD shall reign for ever, [even] thy God, O Zion, from generation to generation. Halelu-JAH.:

¹⁰ O Senhor reina para sempre; o seu Deus, ó Sião, reina de geração em geração. Aleluia!
