Neemias 9

1 Now in the twenty-fourth day of this month, the sons of Israel were assembled with fasting and with sackcloth and earth upon them.
1 Ora, no vigésimo quarto dia deste mês, os filhos de Israel estavam reunidos em jejum, e com roupas de saco, e terra sobre eles.
2 And the seed of Israel had separated themselves from all strangers and stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers.
2 E a semente de Israel separou-se de todos os estrangeiros, puseram-se em pé e confessaram os seus pecados, e as iniquidades dos seus pais.
3 And they stood up in their place and read in the book of the law of the LORD their God [one] fourth part of the day; and [another] fourth part they confessed and worshipped the LORD their God.
3 E eles se puseram em pé no seu caminho, e leram o livro da lei do SENHOR seu Deus uma quarta parte do dia; e na outra quarta parte eles confessaram, e adoraram o SENHOR seu Deus.
4 Then stood up upon the stairs of the Levites, Jeshua, Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, [and] Chenani and cried with a loud voice unto the LORD their God.
4 Então, se levantaram sobre os degraus, dos levitas: Jesuá, e Bani, Cadmiel, Sebanias, Buni, Serebias, Bani e Quenani, e clamaram com voz alta ao SENHOR seu Deus.
5 Then the Levites, Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabniah, Sherebiah, Hodijah, Shebaniah, [and] Pethahiah said, Stand up [and] bless the LORD your God for ever and ever; and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.
5 Então, os levitas, Jesuá, e Cadmiel, Bani, Hasabneias, Serebias, Hodias, Sebanias e Petaías, disseram: Levantai-vos e bendizei ao SENHOR vosso Deus para todo o sempre; e bendito seja o teu glorioso nome, o qual é exaltado acima de toda bênção e louvor.
6 Thou, O LORD, art alone; thou hast made the heavens and the heavens of the heavens, with all their host, the earth and all [things] that [are] therein, the seas and all that [is] therein, and thou givest life to them all; and the host of the heavens worship thee.
6 Tu, só tu, és SENHOR; tu fizeste o céu, o céu dos céus, com todo o seu exército, a terra e todas as coisas que nela estão, os mares, e tudo o que nele está, e tu a todos preservas; e o exército do céu te adora.
7 Thou art, O LORD, the God who didst choose Abram and didst bring him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees and didst give him the name of Abraham
7 Tu és o SENHOR, o Deus que escolheu Abrão, e o tiraste de Ur dos caldeus, e lhe deste o nome de Abraão;
8 and didst find his heart faithful before thee and didst make a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, to give [it], to his seed and hast performed thy word; for thou [art] righteous.
8 e achaste o seu coração fiel diante de ti, e com ele fizeste um pacto para dares à sua semente a terra dos cananeus, dos heteus, dos amorreus, e dos ferezeus, e dos jebuseus, e dos girgaseus, e cumpriste as tuas palavras; porque tu és justo.
9 And thou didst see the affliction of our fathers in Egypt and didst hear their cry by the Red sea
9 E viste a aflição dos nossos pais no Egito, e ouviste o seu clamor junto ao mar Vermelho;
10 and didst show signs and wonders upon Pharaoh and on all his servants and on all the people of his land; for thou didst know that they had dealt proudly against them. So didst thou make thee a name, as [it is] this day.
10 e mostraste sinais e maravilhas sobre Faraó, e sobre todos os seus servos, e sobre todo o povo da sua terra; pois tu sabias que eles agiam soberbamente contra eles. Assim, conquistaste para ti um nome, como é neste dia.
11 And thou didst divide the sea before them so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their persecutors thou didst throw into the deeps, as a stone into the mighty waters.
11 E dividiste o mar diante deles, de modo que seguiram pelo meio do mar em terra seca; e os seus perseguidores lançaste tu nas profundezas, como uma pedra nas águas poderosas.
12 Moreover, thou didst lead them by day with a pillar of cloud and by night with a pillar of fire to give them light in the way by which they should go.
12 Além disso, tu os guiavas de dia com uma coluna de nuvem; e à noite com uma coluna de fogo, para dá-los luz no caminho no qual deveriam seguir.
13 Thou didst come down upon Mount Sinai and didst speak with them from heaven and didst give them right judgments and true laws, good statutes and commandments,
13 Tu desceste também sobre o monte Sinai, e do céu falaste com eles, e deste-lhes justos juízos, e leis verdadeiras, bons estatutos e mandamentos;
14 and didst make known unto them the sabbath of thy holiness and didst prescribe for them commandments, statutes, and law by the hand of Moses, thy servant.
14 e fizeste-lhes conhecido o teu santo shabat, e lhes ordenaste preceitos, estatutos e leis, pela mão de Moisés, o teu servo;
15 And thou didst give them bread from heaven in their hunger and didst bring forth water for them out of the rock in their thirst and didst promise them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.
15 e deste-lhes pão do céu para a sua fome, e extraíste para eles água da rocha para a sua sede, e lhes prometeste que entrassem para possuírem a terra que com juramento lhes tinhas prometido dar.
16 But they and our fathers dealt proudly and hardened their necks and did not hearken unto thy commandments
16 Todavia, eles e os nossos pais agiram soberbamente, e endureceram o seu pescoço, e não atentaram aos teus mandamentos,
17 and refused to hear; neither did they remember thy wonders that thou hadst done among them, but hardened their necks and in their rebellion [thought] to appoint a leader to return to their bondage; but thou [art] a God of pardons, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great mercy, and for thou didst not leave them.
17 e se recusaram a obedecer, nem atentaram para as maravilhas que tu fizeste no meio deles; mas endureceram o seu pescoço, e na sua rebelião, indicaram um capitão para retornarem à servidão; mas tu és um Deus pronto a perdoar, gracioso e misericordioso, tardio em irar-se, e de grande bondade, e não os abandonastes.
18 Even when they had made themselves a molten calf and said, This [is] thy God that brought thee up out of Egypt, and had committed great abominations;
18 Sim, quando fizeram para si um bezerro fundido, e disseram: Este é o teu Deus que te tirou do Egito, e tinham cometido grandes provocações;
19 yet thou in thy manifold mercies didst not forsake them in the wilderness; the pillar of the cloud did not depart from them by day, to lead them in the way; neither did the pillar of fire by night, to illuminate the way in which they should go.
19 todavia, tu nas tuas múltiplas misericórdias não os abandonastes no deserto; a coluna de nuvem não se apartou deles de dia, para guiá-los no caminho; nem a coluna de fogo à noite, para mostrar-lhes a luz, e o caminho no qual deveriam seguir.
20 Thou didst give thy good spirit to teach them and didst not withhold thy manna from their mouth and didst give them water for their thirst.
20 Deste também o teu bom espírito para instruí-los, e não retiraste o teu maná da sua boca, e deste-lhes água para a sua sede.
21 [Yea], forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness [so that] they lacked nothing; their clothes did not wax old, and their feet did not swell.
21 Sim, quarenta anos os sustentaste no deserto, de modo que nada lhes faltou; as suas roupas não se envelheceram, e os seus pés não incharam.
22 Thou didst give them kingdoms and peoples and didst divide them into corners; so they possessed the land of Sihon and the land of the king of Heshbon and the land of Og, king of Bashan.
22 Além disso, entregaste a eles reinos e nações, e dividiste-os em cantos; assim possuíram a terra de Seom, e a terra do rei de Hesbom, e a terra de Ogue, rei de Basã.
23 Thou didst multiply their sons as the stars of heaven and didst introduce them into the land, concerning which thou hadst promised to their fathers, that they should go in to inherit [it].
23 Também multiplicaste os seus filhos como as estrelas do céu, e os trouxeste para dentro da terra, acerca da qual havias prometido aos seus pais, para que pudessem entrar para possuí-la.
24 So the sons came in and possessed the land, and thou didst humble the inhabitants of the land before them, the Canaanites, and didst give them into their hand, with their kings and the peoples of the land, that they might do with them as they would.
24 Assim, entraram os filhos e possuíram a terra, e tu subjugaste diante deles os habitantes da terra, os cananeus, e lhes entregaste nas suas mãos, com os seus reis, e o povo da terra, para que eles pudessem fazer deles como quisessem.
25 And they took strong cities and fertile land and inherited houses full of all goods, hewn cisterns, vineyards and oliveyards and many trees of good fruit; so they ate and were filled and became fat and delighted themselves in thy great goodness.
25 E eles tomaram cidades fortes, e uma terra gorda, e possuíram casas cheias de todos os bens, poços cavados, vinhedos, e olivais, e árvores frutíferas em abundância; assim, comeram e se fartaram, e engordaram, e se deleitaram na tua grande bondade.
26 Nevertheless, they were contentious and rebelled against thee and cast thy law behind their backs and slew thy prophets who testified against them to turn them to thee, and they wrought great abominations.
26 Todavia, eles foram desobedientes, e se rebelaram contra ti, e lançaram as suas leis para trás das suas costas, e mataram os teus profetas que testificavam contra eles para convertê-los a ti, e cometeram grandes provocações.
27 Therefore, thou didst deliver them into the hand of their enemies, who afflicted them; and in the time of their tribulation, they cried unto thee, thou didst hear [them] from the heavens; and according to thy manifold mercies thou didst give them saviours, who saved them out of the hand of their enemies.
27 Por isso, tu os entregaste na mão dos seus inimigos, que os atormentaram; e no tempo da sua tribulação, quando eles clamaram a ti, tu os ouviste do céu; e de acordo com as tuas múltiplas misericórdias deste a eles libertadores, que os salvaram da mão dos seus inimigos.
28 But after they had rest, they did evil again before thee; therefore, thou didst leave them in the hand of their enemies so that they had the dominion over them; yet when they returned and cried unto thee, thou didst hear [them] from the heavens; and many times didst thou deliver them according to thy mercies
28 Porém, tendo alcançado repouso, fizeram o mal novamente diante de ti; portanto tu os deixaste na mão dos seus inimigos, de modo que tiveram o domínio sobre eles; todavia, quando eles retornaram, e clamaram a ti, tu os ouviste do céu; e muitas vezes tu os livraste, segundo as tuas misericórdias;
29 and didst protest unto them, that they return unto thy law; yet they dealt proudly and did not hearken unto thy commandments, but sinned against thy judgments (which if a man shall do, in them he shall live) and withdrew the shoulder and hardened their neck and would not hear.
29 e testificaste contra eles, para os fazerdes voltar para a tua lei; contudo, eles agiram soberbamente, e não atentaram aos teus mandamentos, mas pecaram contra os teus juízos (pelos quais, se um homem praticar, viverá por eles); e encolheram os ombros, e endureceram o pescoço, e não quiseram ouvir.
30 Yet many years didst thou forbear them and didst protest against them with thy spirit by the hand of thy prophets; yet they did not hear; therefore, thou didst give them into the hand of the peoples of the land.
30 Todavia, muitos anos tu os aturaste, e testificaste contra eles pelo teu Espírito nos teus profetas; contudo eles não quiseram dar ouvidos; por isso tu os deste nas mãos dos povos das terras.
31 Nevertheless, for thy great mercies' sake thou didst not utterly consume them nor forsake them; for thou [art] a gracious and merciful God.
31 Contudo, por causa das tuas grandes misericórdias tu não os consumiste por completo, nem os abandonaste; porque tu és um Deus gracioso e misericordioso.
32 Now, therefore, our God, the great, mighty, and terrible God, who keeps covenant and mercy, let not all the trouble seem little before thee, that has come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, on our priests, on our prophets, on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.
32 Agora, portanto, Deus nosso, o grande, o poderoso, e o terrível Deus, que guardas o pacto e a misericórdia, não permitas que toda a tribulação pareça pouca diante de ti, que veio sobre nós, sobre os nossos reis, sobre os nossos príncipes, e sobre os nossos sacerdotes, e sobre os nossos profetas, e sobre os nossos pais, e sobre todo o teu povo, desde o tempo dos reis da Assíria até este dia.
33 Howbeit thou [art] just in all that has come upon us; for thou hast done right, but we have done wickedly;
33 Não obstante, tu és justo em tudo que tem vindo sobre nós, pois tu tens agido retamente, mas nós temos agido iniquamente;
34 neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law nor hearkened unto thy commandments and thy testimonies, with which thou didst testify against them.
34 tampouco têm os nossos reis, os nossos príncipes, os nossos sacerdotes, nem os nossos pais guardado a tua lei, nem atentado aos teus mandamentos e aos teus testemunhos, com os quais testificaste contra eles.
35 For they did not serve thee in their kingdom and in thy great goodness that thou didst give them and in the large and fat land which thou didst deliver before them; neither did they turn from their wicked works.
35 Porquanto eles não têm te servido no seu reino, e na tua grande bondade que tu lhes deste, e na vasta e gorda terra que lhes deste, tampouco se desviaram das suas obras iníquas.
36 Behold, we [are] servants this day, behold us here, servants in the land which thou didst give unto our fathers to eat the fruit thereof and the good thereof.
36 Eis que somos servos neste dia, e quanto à terra que deste aos nossos pais para dela comer o seu fruto e o seu bem, eis que somos nela servos;
37 And it multiplies its fruit for the kings, whom thou hast set over us because of our sins, who have dominion over our bodies and over our cattle, according to their will, and we [are] in great distress.
37 e ela produz muito incremento aos reis que puseste sobre nós por causa dos nossos pecados; além disso, eles têm domínio sobre os nossos corpos, e sobre o nosso gado, como lhes apraz, e nós estamos em grande aflição.
38 And because of all this, we make a sure [covenant] and write [it]; and our princes, Levites, [and] priests seal [unto it].:
38 E por causa de tudo isso fazemos um firme pacto e o escrevemos; e os nossos príncipes, levitas, e sacerdotes o selam.
