1 Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take a great roll and write in it with a man's pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz.
1 Então o S enhor me disse: “Faça uma grande placa e escreva de modo bem claro o seguinte nome: Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz”.
2 And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.
2 Pedi ao sacerdote Urias e a Zacarias, filho de Jeberequias, dois homens conhecidos por sua honestidade, que fossem testemunhas do que fiz.
3 And I went unto the prophetess, and she conceived and bore a son. Then the LORD said to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.
3 Então deitei-me com minha esposa, e ela ficou grávida e deu à luz um filho. E o S enhor disse: “Dê-lhe o nome Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz.
4 For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.
4 Pois, antes que esse menino tenha idade suficiente para dizer ‘papai’ ou ‘mamãe’, o rei da Assíria levará embora os bens de Damasco e as riquezas de Samaria”.
5 The also LORD spoke unto me again, saying,
5 Mais uma vez, o S enhor falou comigo e disse:
6 Forasmuch as this people refused the waters of Shiloah that go softly and rejoiced in Rezin and Remaliah's son,
6 “Meu cuidado pelo povo de Judá é como as águas de Siloé, que fluem suavemente. Contudo, eles me rejeitaram e agora se alegram com o que acontecerá aos reis Rezim e Peca.
7 now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, [even] the king of Assyria and all his power, and he shall come up over all his channels and go over all his banks:
7 Portanto, o Senhor fará vir sobre eles uma grande inundação do rio Eufrates: o rei da Assíria com toda a sua glória. A inundação fará transbordar todos os seus canais
8 And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach [even] to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.
8 e cobrirá Judá até o pescoço. Abrirá as asas e submergirá sua terra de um extremo ao outro, ó Emanuel.
9 Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries, prepare yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.
9 “Reúnam-se, nações, e fiquem aterrorizadas; prestem atenção, todas as terras distantes. Preparem-se para a batalha, mas serão destruídas; sim, preparem-se para a batalha, mas serão destruídas.
10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand, for God [is] with us.
10 Convoquem conselhos de guerra, mas de nada adiantará; desenvolvam estratégias, mas não terão sucesso. Pois Deus está conosco!”
11 For the LORD spoke thus to me with a strong hand and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
11 O S enhor me advertiu firmemente de que não pensasse como todos os outros. Disse ele:
12 Do not say, A confederacy, to all [those to] whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear their fear, nor be afraid.
12 “Não chame tudo de conspiração, como eles fazem; não viva com medo do que eles temem.
13 Sanctify the LORD of the hosts himself; and [let] him [be] your fear, and [let] him [be] your dread.
13 Considere o S enhor dos Exércitos santo em sua vida; é a ele que você deve temer. Ele é quem deve fazê-lo estremecer;
14 Then he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock to cause a fall to both the houses of Israel, for a snare and for a net to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
14 ele o manterá seguro. Mas, para Israel e Judá, ele será pedra de tropeço, rocha que os faz cair. Para o povo de Jerusalém, será armadilha e laço.
15 And many among them shall stumble and fall and be broken and be snared and be taken.
15 Muitos tropeçarão e cairão e nunca mais se levantarão; serão presos no laço e capturados”.
16 Bind up the testimony; seal the law among my disciples.
16 Preserve os ensinamentos de Deus; confie a lei àqueles que me seguem.
17 And I will wait for the LORD, who hid his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
17 Esperarei pelo S enhor , que se afastou dos descendentes de Jacó; porei nele minha esperança.
18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me [are] for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of the hosts, who dwells in mount Zion.
18 Eu e os filhos que o S enhor me deu serviremos de sinal e advertência para Israel da parte do S enhor dos Exércitos, que habita no monte Sião.
19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto spiritists and unto wizards that peep and that mutter; shall the people not seek unto their God? [Shall we appeal] for the living unto the dead?
19 Talvez alguém lhes diga: “Vamos perguntar aos médiuns e aos que consultam os espíritos dos mortos. Com sussurros e murmúrios eles nos dirão o que fazer”. Mas será que o povo não deve pedir orientação a Deus? Será que os vivos devem buscar a orientação de mortos?
20 To the law and to the testimony! If they do not speak according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
20 Consultem a lei e os ensinamentos de Deus! Aqueles que contradizem sua palavra jamais verão a luz.
21 Then they shall pass through [this land], fatigued and hungry, and it shall come to pass that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves and curse their king and their God. And raising their face high,
21 Andam sem rumo, cansados e famintos. E, por causa da fome, amaldiçoam seu rei e seu Deus. Olharão para o céu,
22 they shall look upon the earth and behold tribulation and gross darkness, darkness and anguish; and they shall be submerged in gross darkness.:
22 depois olharão para a terra, mas para onde voltarem os olhos só haverá problemas, angústia e sombrio desespero. Serão lançados nas trevas.
