Isaías 31

1 Woe to those that go down to Egypt for help; and trust in horses and place their hope in chariots because [they are] many and in horsemen, because they are valiant, but they did not look unto the Holy One of Israel, neither did they seek the LORD!
1 Ai dos que vão para o Egito procurando ajuda! Eles confiam num povo que tem muitos cavalos e carros de guerra, num país que tem cavaleiros valentes, mas não confiam no Santo Deus de Israel, não pedem ajuda ao
2 Yet he also [is] wise to guide evil and will not cause his words to lie but will arise against the house of the evildoers and against the help of those that work iniquity.
2 Porém o Senhor é sábio e sabe fazer com que a desgraça venha; ele sempre cumpre o que promete. Por isso, ele ficará contra os que praticam o mal, contra todos os que ajudam as pessoas perversas.
3 Now the Egyptian is a man, and not God and his horses flesh, and not spirit, so that as the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helps shall fall, and he that is helped shall fall down, and they shall all fail together.
3 Os egípcios não são deuses! Eles são apenas seres humanos, e os seus cavalos são apenas animais mortais; não são espíritos E, quando o todos cairão mortos de uma só vez, tanto o Egito, a nação forte, como Judá, a nação fraca.
4 For thus has the LORD spoken unto me, Like the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, even if a multitude of shepherds come forth against him, [he] will not be afraid of their voices, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of the hosts come down to fight for Mount Zion and for his hill.
4 O Senhor Deus falou comigo e disse: “Um leão que pega e mata uma ovelha não se assusta, nem foge quando os pastores vêm gritando, mesmo que sejam muitos e gritem bem alto. Assim também eu, o quando descer para lutar no
5 As birds flying, so will the LORD of the hosts defend Jerusalem; defending, delivering, passing over, and saving [it].
5 Como uma ave fica voando por cima do seu ninho para protegê-lo, assim eu, o eu salvarei a cidade e livrarei o meu povo.”
6 Turn ye unto him against whom [ye] have deeply revolted, O sons of Israel.
6 Povo de Israel, vocês se afastaram para longe de Deus; mas agora arrependam-se e voltem para ele.
7 For in that day [every] man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you as a sin.
7 Naquele dia, todos vocês jogarão fora as suas imagens revestidas de prata e de ouro, que só servem para fazer vocês pecarem.
8 Then the Assyrian shall fall by the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the presence of the sword, and his young men shall faint.
8 O Senhor diz: “Uma espada derrotará os assírios, uma espada os matará; mas não será a espada de um ser humano. Eles fugirão da batalha, e os seus jovens serão feitos escravos.
9 And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the banner, saith the LORD, unto whom [there is] fire in Zion, and unto whom [there is a] furnace in Jerusalem.:
