1 In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia the Word was revealed unto Daniel, whose name [was called] Belteshazzar; and the Word [was] true, but the time appointed [was] long: and he understood the word, and had intelligence in the vision.
1 No terceiro ano de Ciro, rei da Pérsia, um assunto foi revelado a Daniel, cujo nome era chamado Beltessazar; e o assunto era verdadeiro, porém o tempo determinado era longo; e ele entendeu o assunto, e teve entendimento da visão.
2 In those days I, Daniel, was mourning three weeks of days.
2 Naqueles dias eu, Daniel, estava pranteando por três semanas inteiras.
3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither did flesh nor wine come into my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all until the three weeks of days were fulfilled.
3 Eu não comi pão agradável, nem chegou à minha boca carne ou vinho, e também não me ungi até se completarem três semanas inteiras.
4 And in the twenty-fourth day of the first month as I was by the side of the great river, which [is] Hiddekel;
4 E no vigésimo quarto dia do primeiro mês, enquanto eu estava ao lado do grande rio, que é o Hidéquel,
5 and lifting up my eyes, I saw, and behold a man clothed in linens, whose loins [were] girded with very pure gold:
5 ergui meus olhos e olhei, e observei um certo homem vestido em linho, cujos lombos estavam cingidos com fino ouro de Ufaz;
6 his body [was] like the [stone of] Tarsis [turquoise], and his face as a [bolt of] lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to brilliant brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of [an] army.
6 seu corpo também era semelhante ao berilo, e a sua face como a aparência de um relâmpago, e os seus olhos como lâmpadas de fogo, e os seus braços e pés semelhantes em cor ao bronze polido, e a voz das suas palavras como a voz de uma multidão.
7 And only I, Daniel, saw that vision: for the men that were with me did not see the vision; but a great fear fell upon them, and they fled and hid themselves.
7 E somente eu, Daniel, tive a visão; pois os homens que estavam comigo não viram a visão, porém um grande tremor caiu sobre eles, de modo que fugiram e se esconderam.
8 Therefore I was left alone and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me, for my strength was turned into dismay, and I retained no strength.
8 Portanto fui deixado sozinho, e tive esta grande visão, e nenhuma força restou em mim, pois minha formosura foi transfigurada em corrupção, e nenhuma força eu retive.
9 Yet I heard the voice of his words, and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I placed into a deep sleep on my face, and my face [was] toward the ground.
9 Contudo ouvi eu a voz das suas palavras, e quando eu ouvi a voz das suas palavras, senti então um profundo sono sobre a minha face, e minha face virou-se para o chão.
10 And, behold, a hand touched me and caused me to move upon my knees and [upon] the palms of my hands.
10 E eis que uma mão me tocou, e me colocou sobre os meus joelhos e sobre as palmas de minhas mãos.
11 And he said unto me, Daniel, O man greatly beloved, pay attention to the words that I shall speak unto thee, and stand up upon thy feet: for I am sent now unto thee. And as he was speaking this with me, I was trembling.
11 E disse-me ele: Ó Daniel, um homem grandemente amado, entende as palavras que eu te falo, e põe-te em pé, pois a ti sou agora enviado. E quando ele falou-me esta palavra, levantei-me tremendo.
12 And he said unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst give thy heart to understand and to afflict thy soul before thy God, thy words were heard, and I am come because of thy words.
12 Então disse-me ele: Não temas, Daniel, pois desde o primeiro dia em que tu dispuseste o teu coração para entender, e para humilhar-te perante o teu Deus, tuas palavras foram ouvidas, e eu venho por tuas palavras.
13 But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days: and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with the kings of Persia.
13 Porém o príncipe do reino da Pérsia resistiu-me por vinte e um dias; porém, eis que Miguel, um dos principais príncipes, veio ajudar-me, e eu permaneci lá com os reis da Pérsia.
14 Now I am come to make thee know what shall befall thy people in the latter days, for there shall still [be] vision for [several] days.
14 Agora eu venho a ti para fazer-te entender o que cairá sobre o teu povo nos últimos dias, pois ainda a visão é para muitos dias.
15 And as he was speaking such words unto me, I looked toward the ground and became dumb.
15 E quando ele tinha falado tais palavras para mim, coloquei a minha face ao chão e tornei-me mudo.
16 And, behold, [one] like the similitude of [the] son of man touched my lips; then I opened my mouth and spoke and said unto him that stood before me, O my Lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
16 E eis que um como a semelhança dos filhos de homens tocou os meus lábios, então eu abri a minha boca, e falei, e disse para aquele que estava diante de mim: Ó meu senhor, pela visão minhas dores voltaram-se sobre mim, e nenhuma força retive.
17 For how can the servant of my Lord talk with my Lord? for as for me, for in that instant I had no more strength in me, neither was there any breath left in me.
17 Pois como pode o servo deste meu senhor falar com este meu senhor? Pois quanto a mim, imediatamente nenhuma força restou em mim, nem fôlego permaneceu em mim.
18 Then there came again and touched me [one] like the appearance of a man, and he comforted me,
18 Então veio novamente e tocou-me um com a aparência de um homem, e ele me fortaleceu,
19 and said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace [be] unto thee, be of good cheer, and be well. And as he spoke unto me, I was strengthened and said, Let my Lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
19 e disse: Ó homem grandemente amado, não temas; paz seja contigo, sê forte, sim, sê forte. E depois que ele falou a mim, fui fortalecido, e disse: Fala meu senhor, pois tu me fortaleceste.
20 Then said he, Knowest thou why I have come unto thee? Because now I must return to fight with the prince of the Persians; and when I am gone forth, next the prince of Grecia shall come.
20 Então disse ele: Sabes por que eu vim a ti? E agora retornarei para lutar com o príncipe da Pérsia; e quando eu me for, eis que o príncipe da Grécia virá.
21 But I will interpret unto thee that which is written in the scripture of truth: and [there is] no one that holds with me in these [things], but Michael your prince.:
21 Porém eu te mostrarei aquilo que está na escritura da verdade; e ninguém há que se mantenha comigo nestas coisas, exceto Miguel, vosso príncipe.
