1 We give thanks unto Thee, O God, we give thanks, and Thy name is near; men tell of Thy wondrous works.
1 Ao Músico-chefe, Al-Tachete, Salmo ou Canção de Asafe. A ti, ó Deus, damos graças, a ti damos graças, pois o teu nome está perto; tuas maravilhosas obras declaram.
2 'When I take the appointed time, I Myself will judge with equity.
2 Quando eu receber a congregação, julgarei retamente.
3 When the earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved, I Myself establish the pillars of it.' Selah
3 A terra e todos os seus habitantes estão dissolvidos; eu suporto os seus pilares. Selá.
4 I say unto the arrogant: 'Deal not arrogantly'; and to the wicked: 'Lift not up the horn.'
4 Eu disse aos tolos: Não ajais tolamente; e ao perverso: Não levantai o chifre;
5 Lift not up your horn on high; speak not insolence with a haughty neck.
5 Não levanteis o vosso chifre ao alto; não faleis com o pescoço duro.
6 For neither from the east, nor from the west, nor yet from the wilderness, cometh lifting up.
6 Porquanto o auxílio não vem nem do leste, nem do oeste, nem do sul.
7 For God is judge; He putteth down one, and lifteth up another.
7 Mas Deus é o juiz; ele derruba um, e estabelece o outro.
8 For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup, with foaming wine, full of mixture, and He poureth out of the same; surely the dregs thereof, all the wicked of the earth shall drain them, and drink them.
8 Pois na mão do SENHOR há uma taça, e o vinho é tinto; é cheio de mistura; e ele derrama o mesmo, mas as suas borras, todos os perversos da terra as torcerão, e as beberão.
9 But as for me, I will declare for ever, I will sing praises to the God of Jacob.
9 Mas eu declararei para sempre; cantarei louvores ao Deus de Jacó.
10 All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off; but the horns of the righteous shall be lifted up.
10 Todos os chifres dos perversos também cortarei fora; mas os chifres do justo serão exaltados.
