1 O God, Thou art my God, earnestly will I seek Thee; my soul thirsteth for Thee, my flesh longeth for Thee, in a dry and weary land, where no water is.
1 Salmo de Davi, quando se achava no deserto de Judá. Ó Deus, vós sois o meu Deus, com ardor vos procuro. Minha alma está sedenta de vós, e minha carne por vós anela como a terra árida e sequiosa, sem água.
2 So have I looked for Thee in the sanctuary, to see Thy power and Thy glory.
2 Quero vos contemplar no santuário, para ver vosso poder e vossa glória.
3 For Thy lovingkindness is better than life; my lips shall praise Thee.
3 Porque vossa graça me é mais preciosa do que a vida, meus lábios entoarão vossos louvores.
4 So will I bless Thee as long as I live; in Thy name will I lift up my hands.
4 Assim vos bendirei em toda a minha vida, com minhas mãos erguidas vosso nome adorarei.
5 My soul is satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth doth praise Thee with joyful lips;
5 Minha alma saciada como de fino manjar, com exultante alegria meus lábios vos louvarão.
6 When I remember Thee upon my couch, and meditate on Thee in the night-watches.
6 Quando, no leito, me vem vossa lembrança, passo a noite toda pensando em vós.
7 For Thou hast been my help, and in the shadow of Thy wings do I rejoice.
7 Porque vós sois o meu apoio, exulto de alegria, à sombra de vossas asas.
8 My soul cleaveth unto Thee; Thy right hand holdeth me fast.
8 Minha alma está unida a vós, sustenta-me a vossa destra.
9 But those that seek my soul, to destroy it, shall go into the nethermost parts of the earth.
9 Quanto aos que me procuram perder, cairão nas profundezas dos abismos,
10 They shall be hurled to the power of the sword; they shall be a portion for foxes.
10 serão passados a fio de espada, e se tornarão pasto dos chacais.
11 But the king shall rejoice in God; every one that sweareth by Him shall glory; for the mouth of them that speak lies shall be stopped.
11 O rei, porém, se alegrará em Deus. Será glorificado todo o que jurar pelo seu nome, enquanto aos mendazes lhes será tapada a boca.
