¹ Answer me when I call, O God of my righteousness, Thou who didst set me free when I was in distress; be gracious unto me, and hear my prayer.

¹ Ouve-me quando eu clamo, ó Deus da minha justiça, na angústia me deste largueza; tem misericórdia de mim e ouve a minha oração.

² O ye sons of men, how long shall my glory be put to shame, in that ye love vanity, and seek after falsehood? Selah

² Filhos dos homens, até quando convertereis a minha glória em infâmia? Até quando amareis a vaidade e buscareis a mentira? (Selá.)

³ But know that the LORD hath set apart the godly man as His own; the LORD will hear when I call unto Him.

³ Sabei, pois, que o Senhor separou para si aquele que é piedoso; o Senhor ouvirá quando eu clamar a ele.

⁴ Tremble, and sin not; commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah

⁴ Perturbai-vos e não pequeis; falai com o vosso coração sobre a vossa cama, e calai-vos. (Selá.)

⁵ Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

⁵ Oferecei sacrifícios de justiça, e confiai no Senhor.

⁶ Many there are that say: 'Oh that we could see some good!' LORD, lift Thou up the light of Thy countenance upon us.

⁶ Muitos dizem: Quem nos mostrará o bem? Senhor, exalta sobre nós a luz do teu rosto.

⁷ Thou hast put gladness in my heart, more than when their corn and their wine increase.

⁷ Puseste alegria no meu coração, mais do que no tempo em que se lhes multiplicaram o trigo e o vinho.

⁸ In peace will I both lay me down and sleep; for Thou, LORD, makest me dwell alone in safety.

⁸ Em paz também me deitarei e dormirei, porque só tu, Senhor, me fazes habitar em segurança.
