1 Help, LORD; for the godly man ceaseth; for the faithful fail from among the children of men.
1 Ao Músico-chefe sobre Seminite, Salmo de Davi. Socorro, SENHOR; porque o homem piedoso cessa; porque faltam fiéis entre os filhos do homem.
2 They speak falsehood every one with his neighbour; with flattering lip, and with a double heart, do they speak.
2 Eles falam de vaidade cada um com o seu próximo; eles falam com lábios lisonjeiros, e com um coração duplo.
3 May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, the tongue that speaketh proud things!
3 O SENHOR cortará fora todos os lábios lisonjeiros, e a língua que fala coisas orgulhosas.
4 Who have said: 'Our tongue will we make mighty; our lips are with us: who is lord over us?'
4 Os que dizem: Com a nossa língua prevaleceremos; nossos lábios são nossos; quem é senhor sobre nós?
5 'For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now will I arise', saith the LORD; 'I will set him in safety at whom they puff.'
5 Por causa da opressão dos pobres, por causa do suspirar dos necessitados me levantarei agora, diz o SENHOR; eu o porei em segurança daquele que se incha para ele.
6 The words of the LORD are pure words, as silver tried in a crucible on the earth, refined seven times.
6 As palavras do SENHOR são palavras puras, como prata refinada em uma fornalha de barro purificada sete vezes.
7 Thou wilt keep them, O LORD; Thou wilt preserve us from this generation for ever.
7 Tu as guardarás, ó SENHOR; tu as preservarás desta geração para sempre.
8 The wicked walk on every side, when vileness is exalted among the sons of men.
8 Os perversos andam por todo lado, quando os homens mais vis são exaltados.
