1 Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto Thy name give glory, for Thy mercy, and for Thy truth's sake.
1 Não a nós, Senhor, não a nós, mas ao vosso nome dai glória, por amor de vossa misericórdia e fidelidade.
2 Wherefore should the nations say: 'Where is now their God?'
2 Por que diriam as nações pagãs: Onde está o Deus deles?
3 But our God is in the heavens; whatsoever pleased Him He hath done.
3 Nosso Deus está nos céus; ele faz tudo o que lhe apraz.
4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands.
4 Quanto a seus ídolos de ouro e prata, são eles simples obras da mão dos homens.
5 They have mouths, but they speak not; eyes have they, but they see not;
5 Têm boca, mas não falam, olhos e não podem ver,
6 They have ears, but they hear not; noses have they, but they smell not;
6 têm ouvidos, mas não ouvem, nariz e não podem cheirar.
7 They have hands, but they handle not; feet have they, but they walk not; neither speak they with their throat.
7 Têm mãos, mas não apalpam, pés e não podem andar, sua garganta não emite som algum.
8 They that make them shall be like unto them; yea, every one that trusteth in them.
8 Semelhantes a eles sejam os que os fabricam e quantos neles põem sua confiança.
9 O Israel, trust thou in the LORD! He is their help and their shield!
9 Mas Israel, ao contrário, confia no Senhor: ele é o seu amparo e o seu escudo.
10 O house of Aaron, trust ye in the LORD! He is their help and their shield!
10 Aarão confia no Senhor: ele é o seu amparo e o seu escudo.
11 Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD! He is their help and their shield.
11 Confiam no Senhor os que temem o Senhor: ele é o seu amparo e o seu escudo.
12 The LORD hath been mindful of us, He will bless--He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron.
12 O Senhor se lembra de nós e nos dará a sua bênção; abençoará a casa de Israel, abençoará a casa de Aarão,
13 He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great.
13 abençoará aos que temem ao Senhor, os pequenos como os grandes.
14 The LORD increase you more and more, you and your children.
14 O Senhor há de vos multiplicar, vós e vossos filhos.
15 Blessed be ye of the LORD who made heaven and earth.
15 Sede os benditos do Senhor, que fez o céu e a terra.
16 The heavens are the heavens of the LORD; but the earth hath He given to the children of men.
16 O céu é o céu do Senhor, mas a terra ele a deu aos filhos de Adão.
17 The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence;
17 Não são os mortos que louvam o Senhor, nem nenhum daqueles que descem aos lugares infernais.
18 But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for ever. Hallelujah.
18 Mas somos nós que bendizemos ao Senhor agora e para sempre.
