1 Rejoice not, O Israel, unto exultation, like the peoples, for thou hast gone astray from thy God, thou hast loved a harlot's hire upon every corn-floor.
1 Não te alegres, ó Israel, não exultes, como os outros povos; pois tu te prostituíste, abandonando o teu Deus; amaste a recompensa mais do que todas as eiras de trigo.
2 The threshing-floor and the wine-press shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail her.
2 A eira e o lagar não os alimentarão; e o vinho novo lhes faltará.
3 They shall not dwell in the LORD'S land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean food in Assyria.
3 Não habitarão na terra do SENHOR; mas Efraim retornará para o Egito, e comerão coisas imundas na Assíria.
4 They shall not pour out wine-offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto Him; their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners, all that eat thereof shall be polluted; for their bread shall be for their appetite, it shall not come into the house of the LORD.
4 Não oferecerão ofertas de vinho ao SENHOR, nem lhe agradarão com elas. Os seus sacrifícios lhes serão como pão de pranteadores; todos os que dele comerem ficarão poluídos, porque o seu pão para sua alma não entrará na casa do SENHOR.
5 What will ye do in the day of the appointed season, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?
5 Que fareis vós no dia solene, e no dia da festa do SENHOR?
6 For, lo, they are gone away from destruction, yet Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them; their precious treasures of silver, nettles shall possess them, thorns shall be in their tents.
6 Porque eis que eles se foram por causa da destruição, mas o Egito os ajuntará; Mênfis os sepultará; os lugares agradáveis para sua prata, as urtigas os possuirão por herança; espinhos estarão em seus tabernáculos.
7 The days of visitation are come, the days of recompense are come, Israel shall know it. The prophet is a fool, the man of the spirit is mad! For the multitude of thine iniquity, the enmity is great.
7 Os dias da visitação chegarão, os dias da retribuição chegarão; Israel o saberá; o profeta é um tolo, o homem espiritual é louco; por causa da multidão da tua iniquidade, e o grande ódio.
8 Ephraim is a watchman with my God; as for the prophet, a fowler's snare is in all his ways, and enmity in the house of his God.
8 O vigia de Efraim estava com o meu Deus, mas o profeta é como um laço de caçador de aves em todos os seus caminhos, e ódio na casa do seu Deus.
9 They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah; He will remember their iniquity, He will punish their sins.
9 Eles se corromperam profundamente, como nos dias de Gibeá; portanto, ele se lembrará das suas iniquidades, e visitará os pecados deles.
10 I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness, I saw your fathers as the first-ripe in the fig-tree at her first season; but so soon as they came to Baal-peor, they separated themselves unto the shameful thing, and became detestable like that which they loved.
10 Achei Israel como uvas no deserto, vi vossos pais como os primeiros frutos de uma figueira; mas eles foram para Baal-Peor, e se separaram para essa vergonha, e se tornaram abomináveis como aquilo que amaram.
11 As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird; there shall be no birth, and none with child, and no conception.
11 Quanto a Efraim, sua glória voará como ave, voará do nascimento, do útero e da concepção.
12 Yea, though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there be not a man left; yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!
12 Ainda que criem seus filhos, contudo, os privarei deles para que não fique nenhum homem. Ai deles, quando deles eu me apartar!
13 Ephraim, like as I have seen Tyre, is planted in a pleasant place; but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the slayer.
13 Efraim, assim como Tiro, está plantado num lugar agradável; mas Efraim levará os seus filhos ao matador.
14 Give them, O LORD, whatsoever Thou wilt give; give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.
14 Dá-lhes, ó SENHOR; mas que lhes darás? Dá-lhes um ventre que aborte e seios secos.
15 All their wickedness is in Gilgal, for there I hated them; because of the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of My house; I will love them no more, all their princes are rebellious.
15 Toda a sua maldade está em Gilgal, porque ali os odiei; por causa da maldade das suas obras os lançarei para fora de minha casa. Não os amarei mais; todos os seus príncipes são rebeldes.
16 Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit; yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay the beloved fruit of their womb.
16 Efraim está ferido, sua raiz está seca; não darão fruto; sim, ainda que gerem, matarei até os frutos queridos do seu ventre.
17 My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto Him; and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
17 O meu Deus os rejeitará, porque não o ouviram, e serão andarilhos entre as nações.
