1 'Come, and let us return unto the LORD; for He hath torn, and He will heal us, He hath smitten, and He will bind us up.
1 “Venham, voltemos para o S enhor ! Ele nos despedaçou, agora irá nos sarar. Ele nos feriu, agora nos fará curativos.
2 After two days will He revive us, on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His presence.
2 Em pouco tempo nos restaurará, e logo
3 And let us know, eagerly strive to know the LORD, His going forth is sure as the morning; and He shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter rain that watereth the earth.'
3 Ah, como precisamos conhecer o S enhor ; busquemos conhecê-lo! Ele nos responderá, tão certo como chega o amanhecer ou vêm as chuvas da primavera.”
4 O Ephraim, what shall I do unto thee? O Judah, what shall I do unto thee? for your goodness is as a morning cloud, and as the dew that early passeth away.
4 “Ó Israel e Judá, que farei com vocês? Seu amor se dissipa como a neblina da manhã e desaparece como o orvalho à luz do sol.
5 Therefore have I hewed them by the prophets, I have slain them by the words of My mouth; and thy judgment goeth forth as the light.
5 Enviei meus profetas para despedaçar vocês, para matá-los com minhas palavras, com julgamentos inescapáveis como a luz.
6 For I desire mercy, and not sacrifice, and the knowledge of God rather than burnt-offerings.
6 Quero que demonstrem amor, e não que ofereçam sacrifícios. Quero que me conheçam, mais do que desejo holocaustos.
7 But they like men have transgressed the covenant; there have they dealt treacherously against Me.
7 Como Adão, porém, vocês quebraram minha aliança e traíram minha confiança.
8 Gilead is a city of them that work iniquity, it is covered with footprints of blood.
8 “Gileade é uma cidade de pecadores, cheia de marcas de sangue.
9 And as troops of robbers wait for a man, so doth the company of priests; they murder in the way toward Shechem; yea, they commit enormity.
9 Sacerdotes são como bandos de assaltantes, de tocaia à espera de suas vítimas. Assassinam viajantes ao longo da estrada para Siquém e praticam todo tipo de perversidade.
10 In the house of Israel I have seen a horrible thing; there harlotry is found in Ephraim, Israel is defiled.
10 Sim, vi algo horrível em Efraim e em Israel: meu povo se contaminou prostituindo-se com outros deuses!
11 Also, O Judah, there is a harvest appointed for thee! When I would turn the captivity of My people,
11 “Ó Judá, uma colheita de castigo também espera por você, embora eu quisesse restaurar a situação de meu povo.”
