1 Of Moab. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Woe unto Nebo! for it is spoiled; Kiriathaim is put to shame, it is taken; Misgab is put to shame and dismayed.
1 Acerca de Moabe assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, Deus de Israel: "Ai de Nebo, pois ficou em ruínas. Quiriataim foi derrotada e capturada; a fortaleza foi derrotada e destroçada.
2 The praise of Moab is no more; in Heshbon they have devised evil against her: 'Come, and let us cut her off from being a nation.' Thou also, O Madmen, shalt be brought to silence; the sword shall pursue thee.
2 Moabe não é mais louvada; em Hesbom tramam a sua ruína: ‘Venham! Vamos dar fim àquela nação’. Você também ficará calada, ó Madmém; a espada a perseguirá.
3 Hark! a cry from Horonaim, spoiling and great destruction!
3 Ouçam os gritos de Horonaim: ‘Devastação! Grande destruição!
4 Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.
4 Moabe está destruída! ’ É o grito que se ouve até em Zoar.
5 For by the ascent of Luhith with continual weeping shall they go up; for in the going down of Horonaim they have heard the distressing cry of destruction.
5 Eles sobem pelo caminho para Luíte, chorando amargamente enquanto seguem; na estrada que desce a Horonaim ouvem-se gritos angustiados por causa da destruição.
6 Flee, save your lives, and be like a tamarisk in the wilderness.
6 Fujam! Corram para salvar suas vidas; tornem-se como um arbusto no deserto.
7 For, because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou also shalt be taken; and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity, his priests and his princes together.
7 Uma vez que vocês confiam em seus feitos e em suas riquezas, vocês também serão capturados, e Camos irá para o exílio, junto com seus sacerdotes e líderes.
8 And the spoiler shall come upon every city, and no city shall escape; the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed; as the LORD hath spoken.
8 O destruidor virá contra todas as cidades, e nenhuma escapará. O vale se tornará ruínas, e o planalto será destruído, como o Senhor falou.
9 Give wings unto Moab, for she must fly and get away; and her cities shall become a desolation, without any to dwell therein.
9 Ponham sal sobre Moabe, pois ela será deixada em ruínas; suas cidades ficarão devastadas, sem nenhum habitante.
10 Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD with a slack hand, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.
10 "Maldito o que faz com negligência o trabalho do Senhor! Maldito aquele que impede a sua espada de derramar sangue!
11 Moab hath been at ease from his youth, and he hath settled on his lees, and hath not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither hath he gone into captivity; therefore his taste remaineth in him, and his scent is not changed.
11 "Moabe tem estado tranqüila desde a sua juventude, como o vinho deixado com os seus resíduos; não foi mudada de vasilha em vasilha. Nunca foi para o exílio; por isso, o seu sabor permanece o mesmo e o seu cheiro não mudou.
12 Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will send unto him them that tilt up, and they shall tilt him up; and they shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles in pieces.
12 Portanto, certamente vêm os dias", declara o Senhor, "quando enviarei decantadores que o decantarão; esvaziarão as suas jarras e as despedaçarão.
13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Beth-el their confidence.
13 Então Moabe se decepcionará com Camos, assim como Israel se decepcionou com Betel, em quem confiava.
14 How say ye: 'We are mighty men, and valiant men for the war'?
14 "Como vocês podem dizer: ‘Somos guerreiros, somos homens de guerra’?
15 Moab is spoiled, and they are gone up into her cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, whose name is the LORD of hosts.
15 Moabe foi destruída e suas cidades serão invadidas; o melhor dos seus jovens desceu para a matança", declara o Rei, cujo nome é o Senhor dos Exércitos.
16 The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hasteth fast.
16 "A derrota de Moabe está próxima; a sua desgraça vem rapidamente.
17 Bemoan him, all ye that are round about him, and all ye that know his name; say: 'How is the strong staff broken, the beautiful rod!'
17 Lamentem por ela, todos os seus vizinhos, todos os que conhecem a sua fama. Digam: ‘Como está quebrado o cajado poderoso, o cetro glorioso! ’
18 O thou daughter that dwellest in Dibon, come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst; for the spoiler of Moab is come up against thee, he hath destroyed thy strongholds.
18 "Desçam de sua glória e sentem-se sobre o chão ressequido, ó moradores da cidade de Dibom, pois o destruidor de Moabe veio para atacá-los e destruir as suas fortalezas.
19 O inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and watch; ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth; say: 'What hath been done?'
19 Fiquem junto à estrada e vigiem, vocês que vivem em Aroer. Perguntem ao homem que foge e à mulher que escapa, perguntem a eles: ‘O que aconteceu? ’
20 Moab is put to shame, for it is dismayed; wail and cry; tell ye it in Arnon, that Moab is spoiled.
20 Moabe ficou envergonhada, pois está destroçada. Gritem e clamem! Anunciem junto ao Arnom que Moabe foi destruída.
21 And judgment is come upon the country of the Plain; upon Holon, and upon Jahzah, and upon Mephaath;
21 O julgamento chegou ao planalto: a Holom, Jaza e Mefaate,
22 and upon Dibon, and upon Nebo, and upon Beth-diblathaim;
22 a Dibom, Nebo e Bete-Diblataim,
23 and upon Kiriathaim, and upon Beth-gamul, and upon Beth-meon;
23 a Quiriataim, Bete-Gamul e Bete-Meom,
24 and upon Kerioth, and upon Bozrah, and upon all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.
24 a Queriote e Bozra, a todas as cidades de Moabe, distantes e próximas.
25 The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken, saith the LORD.
25 O poder de Moabe foi eliminado; seu braço está quebrado", declara o Senhor.
26 Make ye him drunken, for he magnified himself against the LORD; and Moab shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.
26 "Embriaguem-na, pois ela desafiou o Senhor. Moabe se revolverá no seu vômito e será objeto de ridículo.
27 For was not Israel a derision unto thee? Was he found among thieves? For as often as thou speakest of him, thou waggest the head.
27 Não foi Israel objeto de ridículo para você? Foi ele encontrado em companhia de ladrões para que você sacuda a cabeça sempre que fala dele?
28 O ye that dwell in Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock; and be like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the pit's mouth.
28 Abandonem as cidades! Habitem entre as rochas, vocês que moram em Moabe! Sejam como uma pomba que faz o seu ninho nas bordas de um precipício.
29 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud; his loftiness, and his pride, and his haughtiness, and the assumption of his heart.
29 "Temos ouvido do orgulho de Moabe: da sua extrema arrogância, do seu orgulho e soberba, e do seu espírito de superioridade.
30 I know his arrogancy, saith the LORD, that it is ill-founded; his boastings have wrought nothing well-founded.
30 Conheço bem a sua arrogância", declara o Senhor. "A sua tagarelice sem fundamento e as suas ações que nada alcançam.
31 Therefore will I wail for Moab; yea, I will cry out for all Moab; for the men of Kir-heres shall my heart moan.
31 Por isso, lamentarei por Moabe, gritarei por causa de toda a terra de Moabe, prantearei pelos habitantes de Quir-Heres.
32 With more than the weeping of Jazer will I weep for thee, O vine of Sibmah; thy branches passed over the sea, they reached even to the sea of Jazer; upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage the spoiler is fallen.
32 Chorarei por vocês mais do que choro por Jazar, ó videiras de Sibma. Os seus ramos se estendiam até o mar, e chegavam até Jazar. O destruidor caiu sobre as suas frutas e sobre as suas uvas.
33 And gladness and joy is taken away from the fruitful field, and from the land of Moab; and I have caused wine to cease from the winepresses; none shall tread with shouting; the shouting shall be no shouting.
33 A alegria e a satisfação se foram das terras férteis de Moabe. Interrompi a produção de vinho nos lagares. Ninguém mais pisa as uvas com gritos de alegria; embora haja gritos, não são de alegria.
34 From the cry of Heshbon even unto Elealeh, even unto Jahaz have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even unto Horonaim, a heifer of three years old; for the Waters of Nimrim also shall be desolate.
34 "O grito de Hesbom é ouvido em Eleale e Jaaz, desde Zoar até Horonaim e Eglate-Selisia, pois até as águas do Ninrim secaram.
35 Moreover I will cause to cease in Moab, saith the LORD, him that offereth in the high place, and him that offereth to his gods.
35 Em Moabe darei fim àqueles que fazem ofertas nos altares idólatras e queimam incenso a seus deuses", declara o Senhor.
36 Therefore my heart moaneth for Moab like pipes, and my heart moaneth like pipes for the men of Kir-heres; therefore the abundance that he hath gotten is perished.
36 "Por isso o meu coração lamenta-se por Moabe, como uma flauta; lamenta-se como uma flauta pelos habitantes de Quir-Heres. A riqueza que acumularam se foi.
37 For every head is bald, and every beard clipped; upon all the hands are cuttings, and upon the loins sackcloth.
37 Toda cabeça foi rapada e toda barba foi cortada; toda mão sofreu incisões e toda cintura foi coberta com veste de lamento.
38 On all the housetops of Moab and in the broad places thereof there is lamentation every where; for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein is no pleasure, saith the LORD.
38 Em todos os terraços de Moabe e nas praças não há nada senão pranto, pois despedacei Moabe como a um jarro que ninguém deseja", declara o Senhor.
39 'How is it broken down!' wail ye! 'How hath Moab turned the back with shame!' So shall Moab become a derision and a dismay to all that are round about him.
39 "Como ela foi destruída! Como lamentam! Como Moabe dá as costas, envergonhada! Moabe tornou-se objeto de ridículo e de pavor para todos os seus vizinhos. "
40 For thus saith the LORD: Behold, he shall swoop as a vulture, and shall spread out his wings against Moab.
40 Assim diz o Senhor: "Vejam! Uma águia planando estende as asas sobre Moabe.
41 The cities are taken, and the strongholds are seized, and the heart of the mighty men of Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
41 Queriote será capturada, e as fortalezas serão tomadas. Naquele dia, a coragem dos guerreiros de Moabe será como a de uma mulher em trabalho de parto.
42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he hath magnified himself against the LORD.
42 Moabe será destruída como nação pois ela desafiou o Senhor.
43 Terror, and the pit, and the trap, are upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the LORD.
43 Terror e cova e laço esperam por você, ó povo de Moabe", declara o Senhor.
44 He that fleeth from the terror shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be taken in the trap; for I will bring upon her, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the LORD.
44 "Quem fugir do terror cairá numa cova, e quem sair da cova será apanhado num laço. Trarei sobre Moabe a hora do seu castigo", declara o Senhor.
45 In the shadow of Heshbon the fugitives stand without strength; for a fire is gone forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and it devoureth the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones.
45 "Na sombra de Hesbom os fugitivos se encontram desamparados, pois um fogo saiu de Hesbom, uma labareda do meio de Seom; e queima as testas dos homens de Moabe e os crânios de homens turbulentos.
46 Woe unto thee, O Moab! The people of Chemosh is undone; for thy sons are taken away captive, and thy daughters into captivity.
46 Ai de você, ó Moabe! O povo de Camos está destruído; Seus filhos são levados para o exílio, e suas filhas para o cativeiro.
47 Yet will I turn the captivity of Moab in the end of days, saith the LORD. Thus far is the judgment of Moab.
47 "Contudo, restaurarei a sorte de Moabe em dias vindouros", declara o Senhor. Aqui termina a sentença sobre Moabe.
