1 Behold, the LORD'S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear;
1 Eis que a mão do Senhor não está encolhida, para que não possa salvar; e o seu ouvido não está surdo, para não poder ouvir.
2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear.
2 Mas as iniquidades de vocês fazem separação entre vocês e o seu Deus; e os pecados que vocês cometem o levam a esconder o seu rosto de vocês, para não ouvir os seus pedidos.
3 For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue muttereth wickedness.
3 Porque as mãos de vocês estão manchadas de sangue, e os seus dedos, de iniquidade; os lábios de vocês falam mentiras, e a sua língua profere maldade.
4 None sueth in righteousness, and none pleadeth in truth; they trust in vanity, and speak lies, they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
4 Não há ninguém que clame pela justiça, ninguém que compareça em juízo pela verdade; confiam no que é nulo e andam falando mentiras; concebem o mal e dão à luz a iniquidade.
5 They hatch basilisks' eggs, and weave the spider's web; he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.
5 Chocam ovos de cobra e tecem teias de aranha; quem comer os ovos morrerá, e, se um dos ovos é quebrado, sai uma víbora.
6 Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall men cover themselves with their works; their works are works of iniquity, and the act of violence is in their hands.
6 As suas teias não servem para fazer roupa, ninguém pode se cobrir com o que eles fazem. As obras deles são obras de iniquidade, e atos de violência estão nas suas mãos.
7 Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood; their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity, desolation and destruction are in their paths.
7 Os pés deles correm para o mal, são velozes para derramar sangue inocente. Os pensamentos deles são pensamentos de iniquidade; nos seus caminhos há ruína e destruição.
8 The way of peace they know not, and there is no right in their goings; they have made them crooked paths, whosoever goeth therein doth not know peace.
8 Não conhecem o caminho da paz, nem há justiça nos seus passos. Fizeram para si veredas tortuosas; quem anda por elas não conhece a paz.
9 Therefore is justice far from us, neither doth righteousness overtake us; we look for light, but behold darkness, for brightness, but we walk in gloom.
9 Por isso, o juízo está longe de nós, e a justiça não nos alcança. Esperamos pela luz, e eis que há só trevas; esperamos pela claridade, mas andamos na escuridão.
10 We grope for the wall like the blind, yea, as they that have no eyes do we grope; we stumble at noonday as in the twilight; we are in dark places like the dead.
10 Apalpamos as paredes como cegos, sim, como os que não têm olhos, andamos apalpando; tropeçamos ao meio-dia como nas trevas e entre os robustos somos como os mortos.
11 We all growl like bears, and mourn sore like doves; we look for right, but there is none; for salvation, but it is far off from us.
11 Todos nós bramamos como ursos e gememos como pombas; esperamos o juízo, mas ele não aparece; esperamos a salvação, mas ela está longe de nós.
12 For our transgressions are multiplied before Thee, and our sins testify against us; for our transgressions are present to us, and as for our iniquities, we know them:
12 Porque as nossas transgressões se multiplicam diante de ti, e os nossos pecados testificam contra nós. As nossas transgressões estão conosco, e conhecemos as nossas iniquidades.
13 Transgressing and denying the LORD, and turning away from following our God, speaking oppression and perverseness, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
13 Temos sido infiéis e mentimos contra o nós nos afastamos do nosso Deus; pregamos a opressão e a rebeldia; proferimos palavras de falsidade que concebemos em nosso coração.
14 And justice is turned away backward, and righteousness standeth afar off; for truth hath stumbled in the broad place, and uprightness cannot enter.
14 Por isso, o direito se retirou, e a justiça se pôs de longe, porque a verdade anda tropeçando pelas praças, e a retidão não pode entrar.
15 And truth is lacking, and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey. And the LORD saw it, and it displeased Him that there was no justice;
15 Sim, a verdade sumiu, e quem se desvia do mal é tratado como presa. O e desaprovou o fato de não haver justiça.
16 And He saw that there was no man, and was astonished that there was no intercessor; therefore His own arm brought salvation unto Him; and His righteousness, it sustained Him;
16 Viu que não havia ninguém e maravilhou-se de que não houvesse um intercessor; por isso, o seu próprio braço lhe trouxe a salvação, e a sua própria justiça foi o seu apoio.
17 And He put on righteousness as a coat of mail, and a helmet of salvation upon His head, and He put on garments of vengeance for clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloak.
17 Vestiu-se de justiça, como de uma couraça, e pôs o capacete da salvação na cabeça; pôs sobre si a veste da vingança e se cobriu de zelo, como de um manto.
18 According to their deeds, accordingly He will repay, fury to His adversaries, recompense to His enemies; to the islands He will repay recompense.
18 Segundo as obras deles, assim retribuirá: aos seus adversários, furor; aos seus inimigos, o que merecem; às terras do mar, a devida recompensa.
19 So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; for distress will come in like a flood, which the breath of the LORD driveth.
19 Assim, temerão o nome do desde o poente, e a sua glória, desde o nascente do sol; pois virá como torrente impetuosa, impelida pelo Espírito do
20 And a redeemer will come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
20 “O Redentor virá a Sião e aos de Jacó que se converterem”, diz o
21 And as for Me, this is My covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and My words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
21 — Quanto a mim, esta é a minha aliança com eles, diz o Senhor : o meu Espírito, que está sobre você, e as minhas palavras, que pus na sua boca, não se desviarão dela, nem da boca de seus filhos, nem da boca dos filhos de seus filhos, desde agora e para todo o sempre, diz o Senhor .
