Isaías 47

1 Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground without a throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans; for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.
1 Desce e senta-te no pó, ó virgem filha de Babilônia, senta-te no chão. Não há mais trono, ó filha dos caldeus, porque tu não serás mais chamada terna e delicada.
2 Take the millstones, and grind meal; remove thy veil, strip off the train, uncover the leg, pass through the rivers.
2 Pega as pedras de moinho e mói farinha. Tira o que cobre tuas tranças e descobre a perna, descobre a coxa, atravessa os rios.
3 Thy nakedness shall be uncovered, yea, thy shame shall be seen; I will take vengeance, and will let no man intercede.
3 Tua nudez será descoberta, sim, tua vergonha será vista. Eu tomarei vingança e não me oporei a ti, como um homem.
4 Our Redeemer, the LORD of hosts is His name, The Holy One of Israel.
4 Com relação ao nosso Redentor, o SENHOR dos Exércitos é seu nome, o Santo de Israel.
5 Sit thou silent, and get thee into darkness, O daughter of the Chaldeans; for thou shalt no more be called the mistress of kingdoms.
5 Senta-te em silêncio e adentra tu na escuridão, ó filha dos caldeus, porque tu não serás mais chamada a senhora de reinos.
6 I was wroth with My people, I profaned Mine inheritance, and gave them into thy hand; thou didst show them no mercy; upon the aged hast thou very heavily laid thy yoke.
6 Eu estive furioso com meu povo, Eu tenho profanado minha herança e os dado em tua mão. Tu não mostraste misericórdia para com eles. Sobre o ancião tu tens colocado mui pesadamente teu jugo.
7 And thou saidst: 'For ever shall I be mistress'; so that thou didst not lay these things to thy heart, neither didst remember the end thereof.
7 E tu disseste: Serei uma dama para sempre. Portanto, assim tu não dispuseste estas coisas ao teu coração, nem consideraste o ponto final delas.
8 Now therefore hear this, thou that art given to pleasures, that sittest securely, that sayest in thy heart: 'I am, and there is none else beside me; I shall not sit as a widow, neither shall I know the loss of children';
8 Portanto, ouve agora isto: Tu que és dada a prazeres, que habitas descuidadamente. Tu que dizes em teu coração: Eu sou e ninguém mais do que eu. Eu não sentarei como uma viúva, nem conhecerei a perda de filhos.
9 But these two things shall come to thee in a moment in one day, the loss of children, and widowhood; in their full measure shall they come upon thee, for the multitude of thy sorceries, and the great abundance of thine enchantments.
9 Porém, estas duas coisas virão a ti em um momento em um dia: a perda de filhos e a viuvez. Elas virão sobre ti em sua plenitude, por causa da multidão de tuas feitiçarias e por causa da grande abundância de teus encantamentos.
10 And thou hast been secure in thy wickedness, thou hast said: 'None seeth me'; thy wisdom and thy knowledge, it hath perverted thee; and thou hast said in thy heart. 'I am, and there is none else beside me.'
10 Porque tu tens confiado em tua perversidade. Tu tens dito: Ninguém me vê. Tua sabedoria e teu conhecimento, têm te pervertido, e tu tens dito em teu coração: Eu sou e ninguém mais do que eu.
11 Yet shall evil came upon thee; thou shalt not know how to charm it away; and calamity shall fall upon thee; thou shalt not be able to put it away; and ruin shall come upon thee suddenly, before thou knowest.
11 Portanto, o mal virá sobre ti. Tu não saberás de onde ele se levanta, e desgraça te atacará de repente, ferozmente. Tu não serás capaz de a repelir. E desolação virá sobre ti de repente, a qual tu não saberás.
12 Stand now with thine enchantments, and with the multitude of thy sorceries, wherein thou hast laboured from thy youth; if so be thou shalt be able to profit, if so be thou mayest prevail.
12 Levanta agora com teus encantamentos e com a multidão de tuas feitiçarias, em que tu tens trabalhado desde tua juventude. Se então tu fores capaz de te beneficiar, se então tu fores, poderás prevalecer.
13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels; let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from the things that shall come upon thee.
13 Tu estás cansado na multidão de teus conselhos. Deixa agora os astrólogos, os observadores das estrelas, os prognosticadores mensais ficarem de pé e te salvarem destas coisas que virão sobre ti.
14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame; it shall not be a coal to warm at, nor a fire to sit before.
14 Eis que eles serão como restolho, o fogo os queimará. Eles não livrarão a si mesmos do poder da chama. Não há de existir uma brasa para nela se aquecer, nem fogo para se assentar diante dele.
15 Thus shall they be unto thee with whom thou hast laboured; they that have trafficked with thee from thy youth shall wander every one to his quarter; there shall be none to save thee.
15 Deste modo eles estarão diante de ti com aqueles com quem tu tens trabalhado, teus comerciantes, desde tua juventude. Eles vaguearão cada um para seu lado; ninguém te salvará.
