1 And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beer-sheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac.
1 Israel partiu com tudo o que possuía. E chegou a Berseba e ofereceu sacrifícios ao Deus de Isaque, seu pai.
2 And God spoke unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said: 'Jacob, Jacob.' And he said: 'Here am I.'
2 Deus falou a Israel em visões, de noite, e disse: — Jacó! Jacó! Ele respondeu: — Eis-me aqui!
3 And He said: 'I am God, the God of thy father; fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation.
3 Então disse: — Eu sou Deus, o Deus do seu pai. Não tenha medo de ir para o Egito, porque lá eu farei de você uma grande nação.
4 I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again; and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes.'
4 Eu irei com você para o Egito e certamente farei com que você volte de lá. A mão de José fechará os seus olhos.
5 And Jacob rose up from Beer-sheba; and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him.
5 Então Jacó saiu de Berseba. Os filhos de Israel levaram seu pai Jacó, os filhinhos e as mulheres deles nas carretas que Faraó havia mandado para o levar.
6 And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him;
6 Levaram o gado e os bens que haviam adquirido na terra de Canaã e foram para o Egito, Jacó e toda a sua descendência.
7 his sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt.
7 Seus filhos e os filhos de seus filhos, suas filhas e as filhas de seus filhos e toda a sua descendência, levou-os consigo para o Egito.
8 And these are the names of the children of Israel, who came into Egypt, Jacob and his sons: Reuben, Jacob's first-born.
8 São estes os nomes dos filhos de Israel, Jacó, e seus filhos, que foram para o Egito: Rúben, o primogênito de Jacó.
9 And the sons of Reuben: Hanoch, and Pallu, and Hezron, and Carmi.
9 Os filhos de Rúben: Enoque, Palu, Hezrom e Carmi.
10 And the sons of Simeon: Jemuel, and Jamin, and Ohad, and Jachin, and Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanitish woman.
10 Os filhos de Simeão: Jemuel, Jamim, Oade, Jaquim, Zoar e Saul, filho de uma mulher cananeia.
11 And the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
11 Os filhos de Levi: Gérson, Coate e Merari.
12 And the sons of Judah: Er, and Onan, and Shelah, and Perez, and Zerah; but Er and Onan died in the land of Canaan. And the sons of Perez were Hezron and Hamul.
12 Os filhos de Judá: Er, Onã, Selá, Perez e Zera; Er e Onã, porém, morreram na terra de Canaã. Os filhos de Perez foram Hezrom e Hamul.
13 And the sons of Issachar: Tola, and Puvah, and Iob, and Shimron.
13 Os filhos de Issacar: Tola, Puva, Jó e Sinrom.
14 And the sons of Zebulun: Sered, and Elon, and Jahleel.
14 Os filhos de Zebulom: Serede, Elom e Jaleel.
15 These are the sons of Leah, whom she bore unto Jacob in Paddan-aram, with his daughter Dinah; all the souls of his sons and his daughters were thirty and three.
15 São estes os filhos de Lia, que ela teve com Jacó em Padã-Arã, além de Diná, sua filha. Ao todo os seus filhos e as suas filhas eram trinta e três pessoas.
16 And the sons of Gad: Ziphion, and Haggi, Shuni, and Ezbon, Eri, and Arodi, and Areli.
16 Os filhos de Gade: Zifiom, Hagi, Suni, Esbom, Eri, Arodi e Areli.
17 And the sons of Asher: Imnah, and Ishvah, and Ishvi, and Beriah, and Serah their sister; and the sons of Beriah: Heber, and Malchiel.
17 Os filhos de Aser: Imna, Isvá, Isvi, Berias e Sera, irmã deles. Os filhos de Berias foram Héber e Malquiel.
18 These are the sons of Zilpah, whom Laban gave to Leah his daughter, and these she bore unto Jacob, even sixteen souls.
18 São estes os filhos de Zilpa, a qual Labão deu à sua filha Lia; estes ela teve com Jacó, a saber, dezesseis pessoas.
19 The sons of Rachel Jacob's wife: Joseph and Benjamin.
19 Os filhos de Raquel, mulher de Jacó: José e Benjamim.
20 And unto Joseph in the land of Egypt were born Manasseh and Ephraim, whom Asenath the daughter of Poti-phera priest of On bore unto him.
20 A José, na terra do Egito, nasceram Manassés e Efraim. São os filhos que teve com Asenate, filha de Potífera, sacerdote de Om.
21 And the sons of Benjamin: Bela, and Becher, and Ashbel, Gera, and Naaman, Ehi, and Rosh, Muppim, and Huppim, and Ard.
21 Os filhos de Benjamim: Belá, Bequer, Asbel, Gera, Naamã, Eí, Rôs, Mupim, Hupim e Arde.
22 These are the sons of Rachel, who were born to Jacob; all the souls were fourteen.
22 São estes os filhos de Raquel, que nasceram a Jacó, ao todo catorze pessoas.
23 And the sons of Dan: Hushim.
23 O filho de Dã: Husim.
24 And the sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, and Guni, and Jezer, and Shillem.
24 Os filhos de Naftali: Jazeel, Guni, Jezer e Silém.
25 These are the sons of Bilhah, whom Laban gave unto Rachel his daughter, and these she bore unto Jacob; all the souls were seven.
25 São estes os filhos de Bila, a qual Labão deu à sua filha Raquel; e estes ela teve com Jacó, ao todo sete pessoas.
26 All the souls belonging to Jacob that came into Egypt, that came out of his loins, besides Jacob's sons' wives, all the souls were threescore and six.
26 Todos os que foram com Jacó para o Egito, que eram os seus descendentes, fora as mulheres dos filhos de Jacó, eram sessenta e seis pessoas.
27 And the sons of Joseph, who were born to him in Egypt, were two souls; all the souls of the house of Jacob, that came into Egypt, were threescore and ten.
27 E os filhos de José, que lhe nasceram no Egito, eram dois. Todas as pessoas da casa de Jacó, que entraram no Egito, foram setenta.
28 And he sent Judah before him unto Joseph, to show the way before him unto Goshen; and they came into the land of Goshen.
28 Jacó enviou Judá adiante de si a José para que soubesse encaminhá-lo a Gósen. E chegaram à terra de Gósen.
29 And Joseph made ready his chariot, and went up to meet Israel his father, to Goshen; and he presented himself unto him, and fell on his neck, and wept on his neck a good while.
29 Então José aprontou a sua carruagem e foi ao encontro de Israel, seu pai, a Gósen. Apresentou-se, lançou-se ao pescoço do pai e chorou assim longo tempo.
30 And Israel said unto Joseph: 'Now let me die, since I have seen thy face, that thou art yet alive.'
30 Israel disse a José: — Já posso morrer, pois vi o seu rosto e sei que você ainda está vivo.
31 And Joseph said unto his brethren, and unto his father's house: 'I will go up, and tell Pharaoh, and will say unto him: My brethren, and my father's house, who were in the land of Canaan, are come unto me;
31 E José disse a seus irmãos e à casa de seu pai: — Partirei e darei a notícia a Faraó, dizendo: “Meus irmãos e a casa de meu pai, que estavam na terra de Canaã, vieram para junto de mim.
32 and the men are shepherds, for they have been keepers of cattle; and they have brought their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have.
32 Os homens são pastores, criadores de gado, e trouxeram consigo o seu rebanho, o seu gado e tudo o que têm.”
33 And it shall come to pass, when Pharaoh shall call you, and shall say: What is your occupation?
33 Quando, pois, Faraó mandar chamá-los e perguntar: “Qual é o trabalho de vocês?”,
34 that ye shall say: Thy servants have been keepers of cattle from our youth even until now, both we, and our fathers; that ye may dwell in the land of Goshen; for every shepherd is an abomination unto the Egyptians.'
34 respondam: “Estes seus servos foram criadores de gado desde a mocidade até agora, tanto nós como os nossos pais.” Assim, vocês poderão morar na terra de Gósen, porque todo pastor de rebanho é abominação para os egípcios.
