Amós 7

1 Thus the Lord GOD showed me; and, behold, He formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.
1 Assim o Senhor DEUS me fez ver; e eis que ele formava gafanhotos no princípio do rebento da erva serôdia, e eis que era a erva serôdia depois da colheita do rei.
2 And if it had come to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land--so I said: O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech Thee; how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.
2 E aconteceu que, quando terminaram de comer a erva da terra, então eu disse: Senhor DEUS, perdoa, rogo-te; quem levantará Jacó? Pois ele é pequeno.
3 The LORD repented concerning this; 'It shall not be', saith the LORD.
3 O SENHOR se arrependeu disso. Não acontecerá, diz o SENHOR.
4 Thus the Lord GOD showed me; and, behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire; and it devoured the great deep, and would have eaten up the land.
4 Assim o Senhor DEUS me fez ver; e eis que o Senhor DEUS clamava, para contender com fogo; e ele devorou o grande abismo, e comeu uma parte.
5 Then said I: O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech Thee; how shall Jacob stand? for he is small.
5 Então disse eu: Senhor DEUS, cessa, eu te peço; quem levantará Jacó? Pois ele é pequeno.
6 The LORD repented concerning this; 'This also shall not be', saith the Lord GOD.
6 O SENHOR se arrependeu disso. Isso também não acontecerá, diz o Senhor DEUS.
7 Thus He showed me; and, behold, the Lord stood beside a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in His hand.
7 Assim ele me mostrou; e eis que o Senhor estava sobre um muro aprumado; e tinha um prumo em sua mão.
8 And the LORD said unto me: 'Amos, what seest thou?' And I said: 'A plumbline.' Then said the Lord: Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of My people Israel; I will not again pardon them any more;
8 E o SENHOR me disse: Amós, o que vês? E eu disse: Um prumo. Então disse o Senhor: Eis que eu colocarei o prumo no meio do meu povo Israel; nunca mais passarei por ele.
9 And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
9 E os altos lugares de Isaque serão assolados, e os santuários de Israel serão destruídos; e levantar-me-ei contra a casa de Jeroboão com a espada.
10 Then Amaziah the priest of Beth-el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying: 'Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel; the land is not able to bear all his words.
10 Então Amazias, o sacerdote de Betel enviou a Jeroboão, rei de Israel, dizendo: Amós tem conspirado contra ti, no meio da casa de Israel; a terra não é capaz de suportar todas as suas palavras.
11 For thus Amos saith: Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.'
11 Pois assim diz Amós: Jeroboão morrerá pela espada, e Israel certamente será levado cativo para fora de sua própria terra.
12 Also Amaziah said unto Amos: 'O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there;
12 E também Amazias disse a Amós: ó vidente, vai-te, foge para a terra de Judá, e ali come pão, e ali profetiza;
13 but prophesy not again any more at Beth-el, for it is the king's sanctuary, and it is a royal house.'
13 mas não profetizes mais em Betel, pois é o santuário do rei, e é a casa real.
14 Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah: 'I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was a herdman, and a dresser of sycamore-trees;
14 Então respondeu Amós, e disse a Amazias: eu não era profeta, nem filho de profeta, mas sou boiadeiro, e cultivador de sicômoros.
15 and the LORD took me from following the flock, and the LORD said unto me: Go, prophesy unto My people Israel.
15 E o SENHOR me tirou de seguir o rebanho, e o SENHOR me disse: vai, e profetiza ao meu povo Israel.
16 Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest: Prophesy not against Israel, and preach not against the house of Isaac;
16 Agora, portanto, ouve a palavra do SENHOR. Tu dizes: não profetizes contra Israel, nem deixes cair a tua palavra contra a casa de Isaque.
17 Therefore thus saith the LORD: Thy wife shall be a harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou thyself shalt die in an unclean land, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.'
17 Portanto assim diz o SENHOR: tua esposa será uma prostituta na cidade, e teus filhos e tuas filhas cairão pela espada, e tua terra será dividida por linha, e tu morrerás em uma terra poluída, e Israel certamente será levado cativo para fora de sua terra.
