1 Hear ye this word which I take up for a lamentation over you, O house of Israel:
1 Ouvi esta palavra, que levanto contra vós, como uma lamentação, ó casa de Israel.
2 The virgin of Israel is fallen, she shall no more rise; she is cast down upon her land, there is none to raise her up.
2 A virgem de Israel caiu, ela não mais se levantará; ela está desamparada na sua terra, não há quem a levante.
3 For thus saith the Lord GOD: The city that went forth a thousand shall have a hundred left, and that which went forth a hundred shall have ten left, of the house of Israel.
3 Pois assim diz o Senhor DEUS: a cidade que saiu à guerra em número de mil, terá de resto cem, e a que saiu em número de cem, terá dez para a casa de Israel.
4 For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel: Seek ye Me, and live;
4 Pois assim diz o SENHOR à casa de Israel: buscai-me, e vivei;
5 But seek not Beth-el, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer-sheba; for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Beth-el shall come to nought.
5 mas não busqueis a Betel, nem entreis em Gilgal, nem passeis a Berseba; pois Gilgal certamente será levada ao cativeiro, e Betel será desfeita em nada.
6 Seek the LORD, and live--lest He break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and it devour, and there be none to quench it in Bethel--
6 Buscai ao SENHOR, e vivei; para que ele não saia como fogo na casa de José, e a consuma, e não haja quem o apague em Betel.
7 Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and cast righteousness to the ground;
7 Vós que converteis o juízo em absinto, e deitais por terra a justiça;
8 Him that maketh the Pleiades and Orion, and bringeth on the shadow of death in the morning, and darkeneth the day into night; that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth; the LORD is His name;
8 procurai aquele que fez as plêiades e o Órion, e tornou a sombra da morte em manhã, e fez escurecer o dia como a noite; que chamou as águas do mar, e as derramou sobre a terra; o SENHOR é o seu nome.
9 That causeth destruction to flash upon the strong, so that destruction cometh upon the fortress.
9 O que fortalece a destruição sobre o forte, de modo que a destruição venha contra a fortaleza.
10 They hate him that reproveth in the gate, and they abhor him that speaketh uprightly.
10 Eles odeiam aquele que os repreende na porta, e abominam ao que fala seriedade.
11 Therefore, because ye trample upon the poor, and take from him exactions of wheat; ye have built houses of hewn stone, but ye shall not dwell in them, ye have planted pleasant vineyards, but ye shall not drink wine thereof.
11 Portanto, visto que pisais no pobre, e extorquis dele tributos de trigo, edificastes casas de pedras lavradas, mas não habitareis nelas; plantastes vinhas agradáveis, mas não bebereis do seu vinho.
12 For I know how manifold are your transgressions, and how mighty are your sins; ye that afflict the just, that take a ransom, and that turn aside the needy in the gate.
12 Pois conheço as vossas muitas transgressões e os seus muitos pecados; afligem o justo, recebem suborno, e rejeitam a justiça dos pobres na porta.
13 Therefore the prudent doth keep silence in such a time; for it is an evil time.
13 Portanto, o prudente guardará silêncio naquele tempo, pois o tempo será mau.
14 Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live; and so the LORD, the God of hosts, will be with you, as ye say.
14 Buscai o bem, e não o mal, para que vivais; e assim o SENHOR, o Deus dos Exércitos, estará convosco, como dizeis.
15 Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish justice in the gate; it may be that the LORD, the God of hosts, will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
15 Odiai o mal, e amai o bem, e estabelecei o juízo na porta. Talvez o SENHOR, Deus dos Exércitos, tenha misericórdia do remanescente de José.
16 Therefore thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the Lord: Lamentation shall be in all the broad places, and they shall say in all the streets: 'Alas! alas!' and they shall call the husbandman to mourning, and proclaim lamentation to such as are skilful of wailing.
16 Portanto o SENHOR, o Deus dos Exércitos, o Senhor, diz assim: haverá lamentação em todas as ruas, e eles dirão em todas as estradas: Ai! Ai! E chamarão o lavrador para choro, e os que são pranteadores para prantear.
17 And in all vineyards shall be lamentation; for I will pass through the midst of thee, saith the LORD.
17 E em todas as vinhas haverá lamentação; pois eu passarei no meio de ti, diz o SENHOR.
18 Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! Wherefore would ye have the day of the LORD? It is darkness, and not light.
18 Ai de vós que anseiam pelo dia do SENHOR! Para que quereis vós este dia? O dia do SENHOR será de trevas, e não de luz.
19 As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; and went into the house and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him.
19 É como se um homem fugisse do leão, e um urso o encontrasse; ou entrasse em uma casa, e encostasse sua mão à parede, e uma serpente o mordesse.
20 Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? Even very dark, and no brightness in it?
20 Não será o dia do SENHOR trevas, e não luz? Escuridão, sem que haja esplendor?
21 I hate, I despise your feasts, and I will take no delight in your solemn assemblies.
21 Eu odeio, desprezo seus dias de festas; e não sentirei cheiro em suas assembléias solenes.
22 Yea, though ye offer me burnt-offerings and your meal-offerings, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace- offerings of your fat beasts.
22 Embora me ofereçais ofertas queimadas e ofertas de alimento, eu não as aceitarei; nem me atentarei para as ofertas de paz de vossos animais gordos.
23 Take thou away from Me the noise of thy songs; and let Me not hear the melody of thy psalteries.
23 Afasta de mim o som dos teus cânticos, pois não ouvirei a melodia das tuas violas.
24 But let justice well up as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream.
24 Mas desça o juízo como águas, e a justiça como um ribeiro impetuoso.
25 Did ye bring unto Me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel?
25 Oferecestes a mim, sacrifícios e ofertas no deserto por quarenta anos, ó casa de Israel?
26 So shall ye take up Siccuth your king and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.
26 Antes carregaram o tabernáculo de vosso Moloque, e Quium, suas imagens, a estrela do vosso deus, que fizestes para vós mesmos.
27 Therefore will I cause you to go into captivity beyond Damascus, saith He, whose name is the LORD God of hosts.
27 Portanto, vos levarei cativos para além de Damasco, diz o SENHOR, cujo nome é O Deus dos Exércitos.
