¹ Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the princes of the fathers' houses of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion.

¹ Congregou Salomão os anciãos de Israel, todos os cabeças das tribos, os príncipes das famílias dos israelitas, diante de si em Jerusalém, para fazerem subir a arca da Aliança do Senhor da Cidade de Davi, que é Sião, para o templo.

² And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast, in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

² Todos os homens de Israel se congregaram junto ao rei Salomão na ocasião da festa, no mês de etanim, que é o sétimo.

³ And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

³ Vieram todos os anciãos de Israel, e os sacerdotes tomaram a arca do Senhor

⁴ And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tent of meeting, and all the holy vessels that were in the Tent; even these did the priests and the Levites bring up.

⁴ e a levaram para cima, com a tenda da congregação, e também os utensílios sagrados que nela havia; os sacerdotes e levitas é que os fizeram subir.

⁵ And king Solomon and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

⁵ O rei Salomão e toda a congregação de Israel, que se reunira a ele, estavam todos diante da arca, sacrificando ovelhas e bois, que, de tão numerosos, não se podiam contar.

⁶ And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto its place, into the Sanctuary of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubim.

⁶ Puseram os sacerdotes a arca da Aliança do Senhor no seu lugar, no santuário mais interior do templo, no Santo dos Santos, debaixo das asas dos querubins.

⁷ For the cherubim spread forth their wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubim covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

⁷ Pois os querubins estendiam as asas sobre o lugar da arca e, do alto, cobriam a arca e os varais.

⁸ And the staves were so long that the ends of the staves were seen from the holy place, even before the Sanctuary; but they could not be seen without; and there they are unto this day.

⁸ Os varais sobressaíam tanto, que suas pontas eram vistas do Santo Lugar, defronte do Santo dos Santos, porém de fora não se viam. Ali, estão até ao dia de hoje.

⁹ There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel when they came out of the land of Egypt.

⁹ Nada havia na arca senão as duas tábuas de pedra, que Moisés ali pusera junto a Horebe, quando o Senhor fez aliança com os filhos de Israel, ao saírem da terra do Egito.

¹⁰ And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,

¹⁰ Tendo os sacerdotes saído do santuário, uma nuvem encheu a Casa do Senhor ,

¹¹ so that the priests could not stand to minister by reason of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD.

¹¹ de tal sorte que os sacerdotes não puderam permanecer ali, para ministrar, por causa da nuvem, porque a glória do Senhor enchera a Casa do Senhor .

¹² Then spoke Solomon: The LORD hath said that He would dwell in the thick darkness.

¹² Então, disse Salomão: O Senhor declarou que habitaria em trevas espessas.

¹³ I have surely built Thee a house of habitation, a place for Thee to dwell in for ever.

¹³ Na verdade, edifiquei uma casa para tua morada, lugar para a tua eterna habitação.

¹⁴ And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel; and all the congregation of Israel stood.

¹⁴ Voltou, então, o rei o rosto e abençoou a toda a congregação de Israel, enquanto se mantinha toda em pé;

¹⁵ And he said: 'Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, who spoke with His mouth unto David my father, and hath with His hand fulfilled it, saying:

¹⁵ e disse: Bendito seja o Senhor , o Deus de Israel, que falou pessoalmente a Davi, meu pai, e pelo seu poder o cumpriu, dizendo:

¹⁶ Since the day that I brought forth My people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build a house, that My name might be there; but I chose David to be over My people Israel.

¹⁶ Desde o dia em que tirei Israel, o meu povo, do Egito, não escolhi cidade alguma de todas as tribos de Israel, para edificar uma casa a fim de ali estabelecer o meu nome; porém escolhi a Davi para chefe do meu povo de Israel.

¹⁷ Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.

¹⁷ Também Davi, meu pai, propusera em seu coração o edificar uma casa ao nome do Senhor , o Deus de Israel.

¹⁸ But the LORD said unto David my father: Whereas it was in thy heart to build a house for My name, thou didst well that it was in thy heart;

¹⁸ Porém o Senhor disse a Davi, meu pai: Já que desejaste edificar uma casa ao meu nome, bem fizeste em o resolver em teu coração.

¹⁹ nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for My name.

¹⁹ Todavia, tu não edificarás a casa, porém teu filho, que descenderá de ti, ele a edificará ao meu nome.

²⁰ And the LORD hath established His word that He spoke; for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the name of the LORD, the God of Israel.

²⁰ Assim, cumpriu o Senhor a sua palavra que tinha dito, pois me levantei em lugar de Davi, meu pai, e me assentei no trono de Israel, como prometera o Senhor ; e edifiquei a casa ao nome do Senhor , o Deus de Israel.

²¹ And there have I set a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which He made with our fathers, when He brought them out of the land of Egypt.'

²¹ E nela constituí um lugar para a arca, em que estão as tábuas da aliança que o Senhor fez com nossos pais, quando os tirou da terra do Egito.

²² And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;

²² Pôs-se Salomão diante do altar do Senhor , na presença de toda a congregação de Israel; e estendeu as mãos para os céus

²³ and he said: 'O LORD, the God of Israel, there is no God like Thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath; who keepest covenant and mercy with Thy servants, that walk before Thee with all their heart;

²³ e disse: Ó Senhor , Deus de Israel, não há Deus como tu, em cima nos céus nem embaixo na terra, como tu que guardas a aliança e a misericórdia a teus servos que de todo o coração andam diante de ti;

²⁴ who hast kept with Thy servant David my father that which Thou didst promise him; yea, Thou spokest with Thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with Thy hand, as it is this day.

²⁴ que cumpriste para com teu servo Davi, meu pai, o que lhe prometeste; pessoalmente o disseste e pelo teu poder o cumpriste, como hoje se vê.

²⁵ Now therefore, O LORD, the God of Israel, keep with Thy servant David my father that which Thou hast promised him saying: There shall not fail thee a man in My sight to sit on the throne of Israel, if only thy children take heed to their way, to walk before Me as thou hast walked before Me.

²⁵ Agora, pois, ó Senhor , Deus de Israel, faze a teu servo Davi, meu pai, o que lhe declaraste, dizendo: Não te faltará sucessor diante de mim, que se assente no trono de Israel, contanto que teus filhos guardem o seu caminho, para andarem diante de mim como tu andaste.

²⁶ Now therefore, O God of Israel, let Thy word, I pray Thee, be verified, which Thou didst speak unto Thy servant David my father.

²⁶ Agora também, ó Deus de Israel, cumpra-se a tua palavra que disseste a teu servo Davi, meu pai.

²⁷ But will God in very truth dwell on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain Thee; how much less this house that I have builded!

²⁷ Mas, de fato, habitaria Deus na terra? Eis que os céus e até o céu dos céus não te podem conter, quanto menos esta casa que eu edifiquei.

²⁸ Yet have Thou respect unto the prayer of Thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer which Thy servant prayeth before Thee this day;

²⁸ Atenta, pois, para a oração de teu servo e para a sua súplica, ó Senhor , meu Deus, para ouvires o clamor e a oração que faz, hoje, o teu servo diante de ti.

²⁹ that Thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place whereof Thou hast said: My name shall be there; to hearken unto the prayer which Thy servant shall pray toward this place.

²⁹ Para que os teus olhos estejam abertos noite e dia sobre esta casa, sobre este lugar, do qual disseste: O meu nome estará ali; para ouvires a oração que o teu servo fizer neste lugar.

³⁰ And hearken Thou to the supplication of Thy servant, and of Thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place; yea, hear Thou in heaven Thy dwelling-place; and when Thou hearest, forgive.

³⁰ Ouve, pois, a súplica do teu servo e do teu povo de Israel, quando orarem neste lugar; ouve no céu, lugar da tua habitação; ouve e perdoa.

³¹ If a man sin against his neighbour, and an oath be exacted of him to cause him to swear, and he come and swear before Thine altar in this house;

³¹ Se alguém pecar contra o seu próximo, e lhe for exigido que jure, e ele vier a jurar diante do teu altar, nesta casa,

³² then hear Thou in heaven, and do, and judge Thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his own head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

³² ouve tu nos céus, e age, e julga teus servos, condenando o perverso, fazendo recair o seu proceder sobre a sua cabeça e justificando ao justo, para lhe retribuíres segundo a sua justiça.

³³ When Thy people Israel are smitten down before the enemy, when they do sin against Thee, if they turn again to Thee, and confess Thy name, and pray and make supplication unto Thee in this house;

³³ Quando o teu povo de Israel, por ter pecado contra ti, for ferido diante do inimigo, e se converter a ti, e confessar o teu nome, e orar, e suplicar a ti, nesta casa,

³⁴ then hear Thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of Thy people Israel, and bring them back unto the land which Thou gavest unto their fathers.

³⁴ ouve tu nos céus, e perdoa o pecado do teu povo de Israel, e faze-o voltar à terra que deste a seus pais.

³⁵ When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, when they do sin against Thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess Thy name, and turn from their sin, when Thou dost afflict them;

³⁵ Quando os céus se cerrarem, e não houver chuva, por ter o povo pecado contra ti, e orar neste lugar, e confessar o teu nome, e se converter dos seus pecados, havendo-o tu afligido,

³⁶ then hear Thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of Thy servants, and of Thy people Israel, when Thou teachest them the good way wherein they should walk; and send rain upon Thy land, which Thou hast given to Thy people for an inheritance.

³⁶ ouve tu nos céus, perdoa o pecado de teus servos e do teu povo de Israel, ensinando-lhes o bom caminho em que andem, e dá chuva na tua terra, que deste em herança ao teu povo.

³⁷ If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting or mildew, locust or caterpillar; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be;

³⁷ Quando houver fome na terra ou peste, quando houver crestamento ou ferrugem, gafanhotos e larvas, quando o seu inimigo o cercar em qualquer das suas cidades ou houver alguma praga ou doença,

³⁸ what prayer and supplication soever be made by any man of all Thy people Israel, who shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house;

³⁸ toda oração e súplica que qualquer homem ou todo o teu povo de Israel fizer, conhecendo cada um a chaga do seu coração e estendendo as mãos para o rumo desta casa,

³⁹ then hear Thou in heaven Thy dwelling-place, and forgive, and do, and render unto every man according to all his ways, whose heart Thou knowest--for Thou, even Thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men--

³⁹ ouve tu nos céus, lugar da tua habitação, perdoa, age e dá a cada um segundo todos os seus caminhos, já que lhe conheces o coração, porque tu, só tu, és conhecedor do coração de todos os filhos dos homens;

⁴⁰ that they may fear Thee all the days that they live in the land which Thou gavest unto our fathers.

⁴⁰ para que te temam todos os dias que viverem na terra que deste a nossos pais.

⁴¹ Moreover concerning the stranger that is not of Thy people Israel, when he shall come out of a far country for Thy name's sake- -

⁴¹ Também ao estrangeiro, que não for do teu povo de Israel, porém vier de terras remotas, por amor do teu nome

⁴² for they shall hear of Thy great name, and of Thy mighty hand, and of Thine outstretched arm--when he shall come and pray toward this house;

⁴² (porque ouvirão do teu grande nome, e da tua mão poderosa, e do teu braço estendido), e orar, voltado para esta casa,

⁴³ hear Thou in heaven Thy dwelling-place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to Thee for; that all the peoples of the earth may know Thy name, to fear Thee, as doth Thy people Israel, and that they may know that Thy name is called upon this house which I have built.

⁴³ ouve tu nos céus, lugar da tua habitação, e faze tudo o que o estrangeiro te pedir, a fim de que todos os povos da terra conheçam o teu nome, para te temerem como o teu povo de Israel e para saberem que esta casa, que eu edifiquei, é chamada pelo teu nome.

⁴⁴ If Thy people go out to battle against their enemy, by whatsoever way Thou shalt send them, and they pray unto the LORD toward the city which Thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for Thy name;

⁴⁴ Quando o teu povo sair à guerra contra o seu inimigo, pelo caminho por que o enviares, e orar ao Senhor , voltado para esta cidade, que tu escolheste, e para a casa, que edifiquei ao teu nome,

⁴⁵ then hear Thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

⁴⁵ ouve tu nos céus a sua oração e a sua súplica e faze-lhe justiça.

⁴⁶ If they sin against Thee--for there is no man that sinneth not--and Thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captive unto the land of the enemy, far off or near;

⁴⁶ Quando pecarem contra ti (pois não há homem que não peque), e tu te indignares contra eles, e os entregares às mãos do inimigo, a fim de que os leve cativos à terra inimiga, longe ou perto esteja;

⁴⁷ yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn back, and make supplication unto Thee in the land of them that carried them captive, saying: We have sinned, and have done iniquitously, we have dealt wickedly;

⁴⁷ e, na terra aonde forem levados cativos, caírem em si, e se converterem, e, na terra do seu cativeiro, te suplicarem, dizendo: Pecamos, e perversamente procedemos, e cometemos iniquidade;

⁴⁸ if they return unto Thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their enemies, who carried them captive, and pray unto Thee toward their land, which Thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which Thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for Thy name;

⁴⁸ e se converterem a ti de todo o seu coração e de toda a sua alma, na terra de seus inimigos que os levarem cativos, e orarem a ti, voltados para a sua terra, que deste a seus pais, para esta cidade que escolheste e para a casa que edifiquei ao teu nome;

⁴⁹ then hear Thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven Thy dwelling-place, and maintain their cause;

⁴⁹ ouve tu nos céus, lugar da tua habitação, a sua prece e a sua súplica e faze-lhes justiça,

⁵⁰ and forgive Thy people who have sinned against Thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against Thee; and give them compassion before those who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them;

⁵⁰ perdoa o teu povo, que houver pecado contra ti, todas as suas transgressões que houverem cometido contra ti; e move tu à compaixão os que os levaram cativos para que se compadeçam deles.

⁵¹ for they are Thy people, and Thine inheritance, which Thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron;

⁵¹ Porque é o teu povo e a tua herança, que tiraste da terra do Egito, do meio do forno de ferro;

⁵² that Thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of Thy servant, and unto the supplication of Thy people Israel, to hearken unto them whensoever they cry unto Thee.

⁵² para que teus olhos estejam abertos à súplica do teu servo e à súplica do teu povo de Israel, a fim de os ouvires em tudo quanto clamarem a ti.

⁵³ For Thou didst set them apart from among all the peoples of the earth, to be Thine inheritance, as Thou didst speak by the hand of Moses Thy servant, when Thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord GOD.'

⁵³ Pois tu, ó Senhor Deus, os separaste dentre todos os povos da terra para tua herança, como falaste por intermédio do teu servo Moisés, quando tiraste do Egito a nossos pais.

⁵⁴ And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread forth toward heaven.

⁵⁴ Tendo Salomão acabado de fazer ao Senhor toda esta oração e súplica, estando de joelhos e com as mãos estendidas para os céus, se levantou de diante do altar do Senhor ,

⁵⁵ And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying:

⁵⁵ pôs-se em pé e abençoou a toda a congregação de Israel em alta voz, dizendo:

⁵⁶ 'Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto His people Israel, according to all that He promised; there hath not failed one word of all His good promise, which He promised by the hand of Moses His servant.

⁵⁶ Bendito seja o Senhor , que deu repouso ao seu povo de Israel, segundo tudo o que prometera; nem uma só palavra falhou de todas as suas boas promessas, feitas por intermédio de Moisés, seu servo.

⁵⁷ The LORD our God be with us, as He was with our fathers; let Him not leave us, nor forsake us;

⁵⁷ O Senhor , nosso Deus, seja conosco, assim como foi com nossos pais; não nos desampare e não nos deixe;

⁵⁸ that He may incline our hearts unto Him, to walk in all His ways, and to keep His commandments, and His statutes, and His ordinances, which He commanded our fathers.

⁵⁸ a fim de que a si incline o nosso coração, para andarmos em todos os seus caminhos e guardarmos os seus mandamentos, e os seus estatutos, e os seus juízos, que ordenou a nossos pais.

⁵⁹ And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the LORD, be nigh unto the LORD our God day and night, that He maintain the cause of His servant, and the cause of His people Israel, as every day shall require;

⁵⁹ Que estas minhas palavras, com que supliquei perante o Senhor , estejam presentes, diante do Senhor , nosso Deus, de dia e de noite, para que faça ele justiça ao seu servo e ao seu povo de Israel, segundo cada dia o exigir,

⁶⁰ that all the peoples of the earth may know that the LORD, He is God; there is none else.

⁶⁰ para que todos os povos da terra saibam que o Senhor é Deus e que não há outro.

⁶¹ Let your heart therefore be whole with the LORD our God, to walk in His statutes, and to keep His commandments, as at this day.'

⁶¹ Seja perfeito o vosso coração para com o Senhor , nosso Deus, para andardes nos seus estatutos e guardardes os seus mandamentos, como hoje o fazeis.

⁶² And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD.

⁶² E o rei e todo o Israel com ele ofereceram sacrifícios diante do Senhor .

⁶³ And Solomon offered for the sacrifice of peace-offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and a hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD.

⁶³ Ofereceu Salomão em sacrifício pacífico o que apresentou ao Senhor , vinte e dois mil bois e cento e vinte mil ovelhas. Assim, o rei e todos os filhos de Israel consagraram a Casa do Senhor .

⁶⁴ The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD; for there he offered the burnt- offering, and the meal-offering, and the fat of the peace-offerings; because the brazen altar that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt-offering, and the meal-offering, and the fat of the peace-offerings.

⁶⁴ No mesmo dia, consagrou o rei o meio do átrio que estava diante da Casa do Senhor ; porquanto ali preparara os holocaustos e as ofertas com a gordura dos sacrifícios pacíficos; porque o altar de bronze que estava diante do Senhor era muito pequeno para nele caberem os holocaustos, as ofertas de manjares e a gordura dos sacrifícios pacíficos.

⁶⁵ So Solomon held the feast at that time, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entrance Hamath unto the Brook of Egypt, before the LORD our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

⁶⁵ No mesmo tempo, celebrou Salomão também a Festa dos Tabernáculos e todo o Israel com ele, uma grande congregação, desde a entrada de Hamate até ao rio do Egito, perante o Senhor , nosso Deus; por sete dias além dos primeiros sete, a saber, catorze dias.

⁶⁶ On the eighth day he sent the people away, and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had shown unto David His servant, and to Israel His people.

⁶⁶ No oitavo dia desta festa, despediu o povo, e eles abençoaram o rei; então, se foram às suas tendas, alegres e de coração contente por causa de todo o bem que o Senhor fizera a Davi, seu servo, e a Israel, seu povo.
