1 Yesuusi asaas zaaridi hayssada yaagidi leemiso odis.
1 Jesus tornou a falar-lhes por meio de parábolas:
2 “Xoossaa kawotethay ba na7aas yaagano giigisida kawuwa daanees.
2 The kingdom of the heavens has become like a king who made a wedding feast for his son,
3 He kawoy yaagano yaana mela odi wothida asata xeeganaw ba aylleta kiittis. Shin asati yaanaw koyibookkona.
3 and sent his bondmen to call the persons invited to the wedding feast, and they would not come.
4 Qassi hara aylleta xeegidi, xeegettida asatakko bidi, ‘Taani ta sanggatanne modhdhida gatarmenthota shukkas; ubbabay giigis. Ta yaaganuwa haa yiite yaagite’ yaagidi kiittis.
4 Again he sent other bondmen, saying, Say to the persons invited, Behold, I have prepared my dinner; my oxen and my fatted beasts are killed, and all things ready; come to the wedding feast.
5 Shin xeegettidayssati xeessaa ixxidi, bantta oosos oosos bidosona. Issoy ba goshshaas, hankkoy ba zal77iyas bis.
5 But they made light of it, and went, one to his own land, and another to his commerce.
6 Harati qassi kawuwa aylleta oykkidi, kawushshi wadhdhidi wodhidosona.
6 And the rest, laying hold of his bondmen, ill-treated and slew {them}.
7 “Kawoy daro yilottidi, ba wotaaddareta yeddidi shemppo wodhidayssata wodhisis, entta katamakka xuuggis.
7 And {when} the king {heard of it he} was wroth, and having sent his forces, destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
8 Hessafe guye, ba aylletakko, ‘Yaaganoy giigis, shin xeegettidayssati yaaganuwas bessiya asi gidokkona.
8 Then he says to his bondmen, The wedding feast is ready, but those invited were not worthy;
9 Hessa gisho, wogga ogeta bidi, demmida asi ubbaa yaaganuwa yaana mela xeegite’ yaagis.
9 go therefore into the thoroughfares of the highways, and as many as ye shall find invite to the wedding feast.
10 Aylleti ogiya bolla bidi bantta demmida asi ubbaa lo77otanne iitata ehidi yaagano shaqara gelssidi kunthidosona.
10 And those bondmen went out into the highways, and brought together all as many as they found, both evil and good; and the wedding feast was furnished with guests.
11 “Shin kawoy kathaa maanaw uttida asaa be7anaw gelida wode yaagano ma7o ma77iboonna issi asi demmis.
11 And the king, having gone in to see the guests, beheld there a man not clothed with a wedding garment.
12 Iyaakko, ‘Laa, ne yaagano ma7o ma77onna waanada hayssa geladii?’ yaagis. Shin uray si77i gis.
12 And he says to him, {My} friend, how camest thou in here not having on a wedding garment? But he was speechless.
13 “Kawoy ba aylletakko, ‘Ha uraa kushiyanne tohuwa qachchidi, kare dhumaa kessi yeggite. Yan iyaw yeehonne achcha garccethi gidana’ yaagis.
13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him feet and hands, and take him away, and cast him out into the outer darkness: there shall be the weeping and the gnashing of teeth.
14 “Hessadakka, Xoossaa kawotethaas xeegettidayssati daro shin doorettidayssati guutha” yaagis.
14 For many are called ones, but few chosen ones.
15 Hessafe guye, Farisaaweti bidi, Yesuusa waati odan oykkaneekko zorettidosona.

16 And they send out to him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Teacher, we know that thou art true and teachest the way of God in truth, and carest not for any one, for thou regardest not men's person;

17 tell us therefore what thou thinkest: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

18 But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said, Why tempt ye me, hypocrites?

19 Shew me the money of the tribute. And they presented to him a denarius.

20 And he says to them, Whose {is} this image and superscription?

21 They say to him, Caesar's. Then he says to them, Pay then what is Caesar's to Caesar, and what is God's to God.

22 And when they heard {him}, they wondered, and left him, and went away.

24 saying, Teacher, Moses said, If any one die, not having children, his brother shall marry his wife and shall raise up seed to his brother.
25 Nu eriya laappun ishati de7oosona. Bayray machcho ekkidi na7a yelonna hayqqis. Iya machchiw iya kaalo ishay ekkis.
25 Now there were with us seven brethren; and the first having married died, and not having seed, left his wife to his brother.
26 Hessadakka, he maccasiw ekkida nam77anthoyka, heedzanthoyka, bidi laappunati wurana gakkanaw ubbay hayqqidosona.
26 In like manner also the second and the third, unto the seven.
27 Ubbaafe guye he maccasiya hayqqasu.
27 And last of all the woman also died.
28 Yaatin, laappunati ubbay iyo ekkida gisho hayqoppe denddiya gallas, he maccasiya laappunatappe awussas machcho gidanee?” yaagidosona.
28 In the resurrection therefore of which of the seven shall she be wife, for all had her?
29 Yesuusi zaaridi, “Hintte Xoossaa qaalay tamaarssiyabaa woykko iya wolqqaa eronna gisho baleeta.
29 And Jesus answering said to them, Ye err, not knowing the scriptures nor the power of God.
30 Asay hayqoppe denddiya wode salon de7iya kiitanchchota mela gidanaappe attin ekkokona gelokkona.
30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are as angels of God in heaven.
31 Qassi hayqqida asati hayqoppe denddanabaa Xoossay hinttew odidayssa nabbabibeekketii?
31 Quanto à ressurreição dos mortos, não lestes o que Deus vos disse:
32 Xoossay, ‘Taani Abrahame Xoossaa, Yisaaqa Xoossaa, Yayqooba Xoossaa’ yaagis. Hessa gisho, Xoossay paxa de7eyssata Xoossaafe attin hayqqidayssata Xoossaa gidenna” yaagis.
32 Eu sou o Deus de Abraão, o Deus de Isaac e o Deus de Jacó {Ex 3,6}? Ora, ele não é Deus dos mortos, mas Deus dos vivos.

35 e um deles, doutor da lei, fez-lhe esta pergunta para pô-lo à prova:
36 “Asttamaariyaw, higge ubbaafe aadhdheyssi awussee?” yaagidi oychchis.
36 Mestre, qual é o maior mandamento da lei?
37 Yesuusi zaaridi, “ ‘Ne Godaa, ne Xoossaa, ne kumetha wozanappe, ne kumetha shemppuwafe, ne kumetha qofaappe dosa.
37 Respondeu Jesus: Amarás o Senhor teu Deus de todo teu coração, de toda tua alma e de todo teu espírito {Dt 6,5}.
38 Ubbaafe aadhdheyssinne bayra kiitay hayssa.
38 Este é o maior e o primeiro mandamento.
39 Nam77antho ubbaafe aadhdhiya kiitay, ase ubbaa ne huu7iya ne doseyssada dosa’ yaageyssa.
39 E o segundo, semelhante a este, é: Amarás teu próximo como a ti mesmo {Lv 19,18}.
40 Muse higgeynne nabeta timirttey ubbay ha kiitata bolla katoosona” yaagis.
40 Nesses dois mandamentos se resumem toda a lei e os profetas.
41 Farisaaweti issi bolla shiiqidi de7ishin, Yesuusi enttana,
41 Como os fariseus se agrupassem, Jesus interrogou-os:
42 “Kiristtoosabaa hintte woygetii? I oodde na7ee?” yaagidi oychchis.
42 Que pensais vós de Cristo? De quem é filho? Responderam: De Davi!
43 Yesuusi enttako, “Yaatin, Dawitey Geeshsha Ayyaanan gididi waattidi Kiristtoosa, ‘Godaa’ gidi xeegii? Dawitey gishe,
43 Como então, prosseguiu Jesus, Davi, falando sob inspiração do Espírito, chama-o Senhor, dizendo:
44 ‘Godaa Xoossay, ta Godaakko,
44 O Senhor disse a meu Senhor: Senta-te à minha direita, até que eu ponha teus inimigos por escabelo dos teus pés {Sl 109,1}?
45 Hiza, Dawitey Kiristtoosa Godaa gidi xeegikko, waanidi Kiristtoosi Dawite na7a gidii?”
45 Se, pois, Davi o chama Senhor, como é ele seu filho?
46 Yesuusas issi qaala zaaranaw dandda7ida asi oonikka baawa. Qassi he gallasappe doomidi hara oysha oychchanaw oonikka dandda7ibeenna.
46 Ninguém pôde responder-lhe nada. E, depois daquele dia, ninguém mais ousou interrogá-lo.
