1 Bvt speake thou the thinges which become wholesome doctrine,
1 Tu, porém, fala as coisas que convém à sã doutrina.
2 That the elder men be watchful, graue, teperate, sounde in the faith, in loue, and in patience:
2 Os velhos que sejam sóbrios, graves, prudentes, sãos na fé, na caridade e na paciência.
3 The elder women likewise, that they be in such behauiour as becommeth holinesse, not false accusers, not subiect to much wine, but teachers of honest things,
3 As mulheres idosas, semelhantemente, que sejam sérias no seu comportamento, como convém a santas, não caluniadoras, não dadas a muito vinho, mestras de coisas boas,
4 That they may instruct the yong women to be sober minded, that they loue their husbands, that they loue their children,
4 para que ensinem as mulheres jovens a serem sóbrias, a amarem seus maridos, a amarem seus filhos,
5 That they be temperate, chaste, keeping at home, good and subiect vnto their husbands, that the word of God be not euill spoken of.
5 a serem discretas, castas, cuidadosas da casa, bondosas, obedientes aos seus maridos, a fim de que a palavra de Deus não seja blasfemada.
6 Exhort yong men likewise, that they bee sober minded.
6 Exorta da mesma forma aos jovens a que tenham mente sóbria.
7 In all things shewe thy selfe an ensample of good woorkes with vncorrupt doctrine, with grauitie, integritie,
7 Em todas as coisas, te dá por exemplo de boas obras; na doutrina, mostra incorrupção, gravidade, sinceridade,
8 And with the wholesome woorde, which can not be condemned, that hee which withstandeth, may be ashamed, hauing nothing concerning you to speake euill of.
8 linguagem sã, que não pode ser condenada, para que os que são de oposição possam ser envergonhados, não tendo nenhum mal que dizer de vós.
9 Let seruants be subiect to their masters, and please them in al things, not answering again,
9 Exorta os servos a que sejam obedientes a seus próprios senhores, e em todas as coisas lhes agradem, não contradizendo,
10 Neither pickers, but that they shew al good faithfulnesse, that they may adorne the doctrine of God our Sauiour in all things.
10 não defraudando; antes, mostrando toda a boa fidelidade, para que sejam ornamento da doutrina de Deus, nosso Salvador, em todas as coisas.
11 For that grace of God, that bringeth saluation vnto all men, hath appeared,
11 Porque a graça de Deus, que trouxe salvação, manifestou-se a todos os homens,
12 And teacheth vs that we should denie vngodlinesse and worldly lusts, and that we should liue soberly and righteously, and godly in this present world,
12 ensinando-nos que, renunciando à impiedade e às concupiscências mundanas, vivamos de maneira sóbria, justa e piamente neste mundo presente;
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and appearing of that glorie of that mightie God, and of our Sauiour Iesus Christ,
13 aguardando a abençoada esperança e o aparecimento glorioso do grande Deus e nosso Salvador Jesus Cristo,
14 Who gaue him selfe for vs, that hee might redeeme vs from all iniquitie, and purge vs to bee a peculiar people vnto himselfe, zealous of good woorkes.
14 o qual se deu a si mesmo por nós, para nos remir de toda iniquidade e purificar para si um povo peculiar, zeloso de boas obras.
15 These things speake, and exhort, and conuince with all authoritie. See that no man despise thee.
15 Fala destas coisas, e exorta, e repreende com toda a autoridade. Ninguém te despreze.
