1 To him that excelleth on Mahalath. A Psalme of David to give instruction. The foole hath saide in his heart, There is no God. they haue corrupted and done abominable wickednes: there is none that doeth good.
1 Os tolos pensam assim: “Para mim, Deus não tem importância.” Todos são corruptos e cometem injustiças horríveis; não há uma só pessoa que faça o bem.
2 God looked downe from heauen vpon the children of men, to see if there were any that would vnderstand, and seeke God.
2 Lá do céu Deus olha para a humanidade a fim de ver se existe alguém que tenha juízo, se existe uma só pessoa que o adore.
3 Euery one is gone backe: they are altogether corrupt: there is none that doth good, no not one.
3 Mas todos caíram, se desviando assim do caminho certo, e são igualmente corruptos. Não há mais ninguém que faça o que é direito, não há mesmo nem uma só pessoa.
4 Doe not the workers of iniquitie knowe that they eate vp my people as they eate bread? they call not vpon God.
4 Deus pergunta: “Será que essa gente má não entende nada? Eles vivem explorando o meu povo e, além de tudo, não oram a mim.”
5 There they were afraide for feare, where no feare was: for God hath scattered the bones of him that besieged thee: thou hast put them to confusion, because God hath cast them off.
5 Mas eles vão tremer de medo como nunca tremeram antes, pois Deus espalha os ossos dos inimigos dele. Deus os rejeitou, e por isso o povo de Israel os derrotará completamente.
6 Oh giue saluation vnto Israel out of Zion: when God turneth the captiuitie of his people, then Iaakob shall reioyce, and Israel shalbe glad.
6 Queira Deus que de Jerusalém venha a vitória para Israel! Como ficarão felizes e alegres os descendentes de Jacó quando Deus os fizer prosperar de novo!
