1 To him that excelleth. A Psalme of David. I Waited paciently for the Lord, and he inclined vnto me, and heard my cry.
1 Ao Músico-chefe, Salmo de Davi. Eu esperei pacientemente pelo SENHOR, e ele se inclinou para mim, e ouviu o meu clamor.
2 Hee brought mee also out of the horrible pit, out of the myrie clay, and set my feete vpon the rocke, and ordered my goings.
2 Ele também me tirou de uma cova horrível, do barro lamacento, e pôs os meus pés sobre uma rocha, e estabeleceu os meus passos.
3 And he hath put in my mouth a new song of praise vnto our God: many shall see it and feare, and shall trust in the Lord.
3 E ele pôs uma nova canção na minha boca, um louvor ao nosso Deus; muitos o verão, e temerão, e confiarão no SENHOR.
4 Blessed is the man that maketh the Lord his trust, and regardeth not the proude, nor such as turne aside to lyes.
4 Abençoado é aquele homem que faz do SENHOR a sua confiança, e não respeita o orgulhoso, nem os que se viram para a mentira.
5 O Lord my God, thou hast made thy wonderfull workes so many, that none can count in order to thee thy thoughts toward vs: I would declare, and speake of them, but they are moe then I am able to expresse.
5 Muitas, ó SENHOR, meu Deus, são as tuas maravilhosas obras que tu fizeste, e os teus pensamentos que são voltados para nós; eles não podem ser contados em ordem a ti; se eu fosse declarar e falar deles, são mais do que se pode numerar.
6 Sacrifice and offering thou didest not desire: (for mine eares hast thou prepared) burnt offring and sinne offering hast thou not required.
6 Sacrifício e oferta tu não desejaste; os meus ouvidos tu abriste; oferta queimada e oferta pelo pecado tu não requereste.
7 Then said I, Lo, I come: for in the rolle of the booke it is written of me,
7 Então eu disse: Eis que venho; no volume do livro está escrito de mim.
8 I desired to doe thy good will, O my God: yea, thy Lawe is within mine heart.
8 Eu me deleito em fazer a tua vontade, ó meu Deus; sim, a tua lei está dentro do meu coração.
9 I haue declared thy righteousnesse in the great Congregation: loe, I will not refraine my lippes: O Lord, thou knowest.
9 Eu preguei a justiça na grande congregação; eis que não tenho refreado os meus lábios, ó SENHOR, tu sabes.
10 I haue not hidde thy righteousnesse within mine heart, but I haue declared thy trueth and thy saluation: I haue not conceiled thy mercy and thy trueth from the great Congregation.
10 Não escondi a tua justiça dentro do meu coração; declarei a tua fidelidade e a tua salvação; eu não ocultei a tua misericórdia nem a tua verdade da grande congregação.
11 Withdrawe not thou thy tender mercie from mee, O Lord: let thy mercie and thy trueth alway preserue me.
11 Não detenhas as tuas tenras misericórdias de mim, ó SENHOR; que a tua benignidade e a tua verdade continuamente me preservem.
12 For innumerable troubles haue compassed mee: my sinnes haue taken such holde vpon me, that I am not able to looke vp: yea, they are moe in nomber then the heares of mine head: therefore mine heart hath failed me.
12 Pois inumeráveis males me cercaram; minhas iniquidades tomaram posse de mim, de maneira que não sou capaz de olhar para o alto; elas são mais do que os cabelos da minha cabeça; portanto, meu coração me falha.
13 Let it please thee, O Lord, to deliuer mee: make haste, O Lord, to helpe me.
13 Tem satisfação, ó SENHOR, em me livrar; ó SENHOR, apressa-te em me ajudar.
14 Let them be confounded and put to shame together, that seeke my soule to destroye it: let them be driuen backward and put to rebuke, that desire mine hurt.
14 Que aqueles que buscam a minha alma para destruí-la sejam envergonhados e confundidos, sejam levados de volta e envergonhados, os que me desejam o mal.
15 Let them be destroyed for a rewarde of their shame, which say vnto me, Aha, aha.
15 Sejam desolados como recompensa por sua vergonha, os que me dizem: Ah! Ah!
16 Let all them, that seeke thee, reioyce and be glad in thee: and let them, that loue thy saluation, say alway, The Lord be praysed.
16 Que todos aqueles que te buscam se regozijem e fiquem felizes em ti; que aqueles que amam a tua salvação digam continuamente: O SENHOR seja magnificado.
17 Though I be poore and needie, the Lord thinketh on mee: thou art mine helper and my deliuerer: my God, make no tarying.
17 Mas eu sou pobre e necessitado, mesmo assim, o Senhor pensa em mim; tu és meu socorro e o meu libertador; não se demore, ó meu Deus.
