1 A Psalme or song of the dedication of the house of David. I will magnifie thee, O Lord: for thou hast exalted mee, and hast not made my foe to reioyce ouer me.
1 Eu te exaltarei, ó Senhor , porque tu me livraste e não permitiste que os meus inimigos se regozijassem contra mim.
2 O Lord my God, I cried vnto thee, and thou hast restored me.
2 Senhor , meu Deus, clamei a ti por socorro, e tu me saraste.
3 O Lord, thou hast brought vp my soule out of the graue: thou hast reuiued me from them that goe downe into the pit.
3 Senhor , da cova fizeste subir a minha alma; preservaste-me a vida para que não descesse à sepultura.
4 Sing praises vnto the Lord, ye his Saintes, and giue thankes before the remembrance of his Holinesse.
4 Salmodiai ao Senhor , vós que sois seus santos, e dai graças ao seu santo nome.
5 For he endureth but a while in his anger: but in his fauour is life: weeping may abide at euening, but ioy commeth in the morning.
5 Porque não passa de um momento a sua ira; o seu favor dura a vida inteira. Ao anoitecer, pode vir o choro, mas a alegria vem pela manhã.
6 And in my prosperitie I sayde, I shall neuer be moued.
6 Quanto a mim, dizia eu na minha prosperidade: jamais serei abalado.
7 For thou Lord of thy goodnes hadest made my mountaine to stande strong: but thou didest hide thy face, and I was troubled.
7 Tu, Senhor , por teu favor fizeste permanecer forte a minha montanha; apenas voltaste o rosto, fiquei logo conturbado.
8 Then cried I vnto thee, O Lord, and praied to my Lord.
8 Por ti, Senhor , clamei, ao Senhor implorei.
9 What profite is there in my blood, when I go downe to the pit? shall the dust giue thankes vnto thee? or shall it declare thy trueth?
9 Que proveito obterás no meu sangue, quando baixo à cova? Louvar-te-á, porventura, o pó? Declarará ele a tua verdade?
10 Heare, O Lord, and haue mercy vpon me: Lord, be thou mine helper.
10 Ouve, Senhor , e tem compaixão de mim; sê tu,
11 Thou hast turned my mourning into ioy: thou hast loosed my sacke and girded mee with gladnesse.
11 Converteste o meu pranto em folguedos; tiraste o meu pano de saco e me cingiste de alegria,
12 Therefore shall my tongue praise thee and not cease: O Lord my God, I will giue thankes vnto thee for euer.
12 para que o meu espírito te cante louvores e não se cale.
