1 Gather your selues, euen gather you, O nation not worthie to be loued,
1 Reúnam-se, sim, reúnam-se, ó nação não desejável;
2 Before the decree come foorth, and ye be as chaffe that passeth in a day, and before the fierce wrath of the Lord come vpon you, and before the day of the Lords anger come vpon you.
2 Antes que o decreto produza o seu efeito, antes que o dia passe como a palha; antes que o furor da ira do SENHOR venha sobre vós, antes que o dia da ira do SENHOR venha sobre vós.
3 Seeke yee the Lord all the meeke of the earth, which haue wrought his iudgement: seeke righteousnesse, seeke lowlinesse, if so bee that ye may be hid in the day of the Lords wrath.
3 Buscai ao SENHOR, vós todos os mansos da terra, que tendes moldado o seu juízo; buscai a justiça, buscai a mansidão; pode ser que sejais escondidos no dia da ira do SENHOR.
4 For Azzah shall be forsaken, and Ashkelon desolate: they shall driue out Ashdod at the noone day, and Ekron shalbe rooted vp.
4 Pois Gaza será abandonada, e Asquelom uma assolação; eles expulsarão Asdode ao meio-dia, e Ecrom será desarraigada.
5 Wo vnto the inhabitants of the sea coast. the nation of the Cherethims, the worde of the Lord is against you: O Canaan, the lande of the Philistims, I will euen destroye thee without an inhabitant.
5 Ai dos habitantes da costa do mar, a nação dos quereteus! A palavra do SENHOR é contra vós; ó Canaã, terra dos filisteus, eu ainda vos destruirei, para que não haja habitante.
6 And the sea coast shall be dwellings and cotages for shepheardes and sheepefoldes.
6 E a costa do mar será habitação e cabanas para os pastores, e currais para os rebanhos.
7 And that coast shall be for the remnant of the house of Iudah, to feede thereupon: in the houses of Ashkelon shall they lodge toward night: for the Lord their God shall visite them, and turne away their captiuitie.
7 Ela será para o restante da casa de Judá; ali se alimentarão; nas casas de Asquelom se deitarão de tarde; pois o SENHOR seu Deus os visitará, e os fará tornar do seu cativeiro.
8 I haue heard the reproch of Moab, and the rebukes of the children of Ammon, whereby they vpbraided my people, and magnified themselues against their borders.
8 Eu ouvi a repreensão de Moabe, e as injúrias dos filhos de Amom, com que repreenderam o meu povo, e se engrandeceram contra o seu território.
9 Therefore, as I liue, saith the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Surely Moab shall bee as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorah, euen the breeding of nettels and salt pittes, and a perpetuall desolation: the residue of my folke shall spoyle them, and the remnant of my people shall possesse them.
9 Portanto, como eu vivo, diz o SENHOR dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, certamente Moabe será como Sodoma, e os filhos de Amom como Gomorra, campo de urtigas e poços de sal, e desolação perpétua; o restante do meu povo os arruinará, e o remanescente do meu povo os possuirá.
10 This shall they haue for their pride, because they haue reproched and magnified themselues against the Lord of hostes people.
10 Isso terão por seu orgulho, porque repreenderam e se engrandeceram contra o povo do SENHOR dos Exércitos.
11 The Lord will be terrible vnto them: for he wil consume all the gods of the earth, and euery man shall worship him from his place, euen all the yles of the heathen.
11 O SENHOR será terrível para eles, pois emagrecerá todos os deuses da terra; e os homens virão adorá-lo, cada um desde o seu lugar, até mesmo de todas as ilhas dos pagãos.
12 Ye Morians also shalbe slaine by my sword with them.
12 Vós etíopes também, vós sereis mortos pela minha espada.
13 And he wil stretch out his hand against the North, and destroy Asshur, and will make Nineueh desolate, and waste like a wildernesse.
13 E ele estenderá a sua mão contra o norte, e destruirá a Assíria; e fará de Nínive uma desolação, e terra seca como um deserto.
14 And flockes shall lie in the middes of her, and all the beastes of the nations, and the pelicane, and the owle shall abide in the vpper postes of it: the voyce of birdes shall sing in the windowes, and desolations shalbe vpon the postes: for the cedars are vncouered.
14 E rebanhos repousarão no meio dela, todos os animais das nações; tanto o pelicano quanto o ouriço se alojarão nos seus capitéis; o seu canto será ouvido nas janelas; haverá desolação nos limiares, pois ele descobrirá a sua obra de cedro.
15 This is the reioycing citie that dwelt carelesse, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none besides me: how is she made waste, and the lodging of the beastes! euery one that passeth by her, shall hisse and wagge his hand.
15 Esta é a cidade alegre, que habita despreocupadamente, que diz no seu coração: eu sou, e não há nenhuma além de mim; como se tornou em desolação, em um lugar para os animais repousarem! Todo aquele que passar por ela assobiará, e abanará a sua mão.
