1 Set the trumpet to thy mouth: he shall come as an eagle against the House of the Lord, because they haue transgressed my couenant, and trespassed against my Lawe.
1 “Soem o alarme! O inimigo desce como águia sobre o templo do S Pois o povo quebrou minha aliança e se rebelou contra minha lei.
2 Israel shall crie vnto me, My God, we know thee.
2 Agora, Israel clama a mim: ‘Socorre-nos, pois és nosso Deus!’.
3 Israel hath cast off ye thing that is good: the enemie shall pursue him.
3 Mas os israelitas rejeitaram o bem, e agora o inimigo os persegue.
4 They haue set vp a King, but not by me: they haue made princes, and I knew it not: of their siluer and their gold haue they made them idoles: therefore shall they be destroyed.
4 Nomearam reis sem que eu consentisse e escolheram príncipes sem minha aprovação. Fizeram para si ídolos de prata e ouro e assim provocaram a própria destruição.
5 Thy calfe, O Samaria, hath cast thee off: mine anger is kindled against them: howe long will they be without innocencie!
5 “Ó Samaria, rejeito o bezerro que você fez! Minha ira arde contra você; até quando será incapaz de se manter inocente?
6 For it came euen from Israel: the workeman made it, therefore it is not God: but the calfe of Samaria shall be broken in pieces.
6 Esse bezerro que você adora, ó Israel, foi feito por suas próprias mãos; ele não é Deus! Portanto, deve ser despedaçado.
7 For they haue sowne the winde, and they shall reape the whirlewind: it hath no stalke: the budde shall bring foorth no meale: if so be it bring forth, the strangers shall deuoure it.
7 “Semearam ventos e colherão vendaval. Os talos de trigo murcharão e não produzirão alimento. E, mesmo que haja trigo, os estrangeiros o comerão.
8 Israel is deuoured, now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessell wherein is no pleasure.
8 O povo de Israel foi engolido; está abandonado entre as nações, como utensílio que ninguém quer.
9 For they are gone vp to Asshur: they are as a wilde asse alone by himselfe: Ephraim hath hired louers.
9 Como jumento selvagem no cio, subiram até a Assíria. O povo de Israel a muitos amantes.
10 Yet though they haue hired among the nations, nowe will I gather them, and they shall sorowe a litle, for the burden of the King and the princes.
10 Embora tenham se vendido às nações, agora eu os reunirei para o julgamento. Começarão a definhar sob a opressão do grande rei.
11 Because Ephraim hath made many altars to sinne, his altars shalbe to sinne.
11 “O povo de Israel construiu muitos altares para remover o pecado, mas esses mesmos altares se tornaram lugares para pecar.
12 I haue written to them the great things of my Lawe: but they were counted as a strange thing.
12 Embora eu lhes tenha dado minhas leis, agem como se elas não se aplicassem a eles.
13 They sacrifice flesh for ye sacrifices of mine offerings, and eate it: but the Lord accepteth them not: now will he remember their iniquitie, and visite their sinnes: they shall returne to Egypt.
13 Gostam de oferecer sacrifícios e comer de sua carne, mas eu não aceito esses sacrifícios. Pedirei conta de seus pecados e os castigarei; eles voltarão para o Egito.
14 For Israel hath forgotten his maker, and buildeth Temples, and Iudah hath increased strong cities: but I will sende a fire vpon his cities, and it shall deuoure the palaces thereof.
14 Israel se esqueceu de seu Criador e construiu grandes palácios, e Judá fortificou suas cidades. Por isso, enviarei fogo sobre suas cidades e queimarei suas fortalezas.”
