1 When Israel was a childe, then I loued him, and called my sonne out of Egypt.
1 Quando Israel era menino, eu o amei; e do Egito chamei o meu filho.
2 They called them, but they went thus from them: they sacrificed vnto Baalim, and burnt incense to images.
2 Quanto mais eu os chamava, tanto mais se iam da minha presença; sacrificavam a baalins e queimavam incenso às imagens de escultura.
3 I ledde Ephraim also, as one shoulde beare them in his armes: but they knewe not that I healed them.
3 Todavia, eu ensinei a andar a Efraim; tomei-os nos meus braços, mas não atinaram que eu os curava.
4 I led them with cordes of a man, euen with bandes of loue, and I was to them, as hee that taketh off the yoke from their iawes, and I laide the meat vnto them.
4 Atraí-os com cordas humanas, com laços de amor; fui para eles como quem alivia o jugo de sobre as suas queixadas e me inclinei para dar-lhes de comer.
5 He shall no more returne into the lande of Egypt: but Asshur shalbe his King, because they refused to conuert.
5 Não voltarão para a terra do Egito, mas o assírio será seu rei, porque recusam converter-se.
6 And the sworde shall fall on his cities, and shall consume his barres, and deuoure them, because of their owne counsels.
6 A espada cairá sobre as suas cidades, e consumirá os seus ferrolhos, e as devorará, por causa dos seus caprichos.
7 And my people are bent to rebellion against me: though they called them to the most hie, yet none at all would exalt him.
7 Porque o meu povo é inclinado a desviar-se de mim; se é concitado a dirigir-se acima, ninguém o faz.
8 Howe shall I giue thee vp, Ephraim? howe shall I deliuer thee, Israel? how shall I make thee, as Admah? howe shall I set thee, as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within mee: my repentings are rouled together.
8 Como te deixaria, ó Efraim? Como te entregaria, ó Israel? Como te faria como a Admá? Como fazer-te um Zeboim? Meu coração está comovido dentro de mim, as minhas compaixões, à uma, se acendem.
9 I wil not execute ye fiercenesse of my wrath: I will not returne to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man, the holy one in the middes of thee, and I will not enter into the citie.
9 Não executarei o furor da minha ira; não tornarei para destruir a Efraim, porque eu sou Deus e não homem, o Santo no meio de ti; não voltarei em ira.
10 They shall walke after the Lord: he shall roare like a lyon: when hee shall roare, then the children of the West shall feare.
10 Andarão após o Senhor ; este bramará como leão, e, bramando, os filhos, tremendo, virão do Ocidente;
11 They shall feare as a sparrow out of Egypt, and as a doue of the lande of Asshur, and I will place them in their houses, sayth the Lord.
11 tremendo, virão, como passarinhos, os do Egito, e, como pombas, os da terra da Assíria, e os farei habitar em suas próprias casas, diz o Senhor .
12 Ephraim copasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Iudah yet ruleth with God, and is faithfull with the Saints.
12 Efraim me cercou por meio de mentiras, e a casa de Israel, com engano; mas Judá ainda domina com Deus e é fiel com o Santo.
