1 Take heede that ye giue not your almes before men, to be seene of them, or els ye shall haue no reward of your Father which is in heaue.
1 Tendo o cuidado de não praticar as vossas esmolas diante dos homens, para serdes vistos por eles; caso contrário, não tereis a recompensa de vosso Pai que está no céu.
2 Therefore when thou giuest thine almes, thou shalt not make a trumpet to be blowen before thee, as the hypocrites doe in the Synagogues and in the streetes, to be praysed of men. Verely I say vnto you, they haue their rewarde.
2 Quando, portanto, deres esmola, não toques a trombeta diante de ti, como fazem os hipócritas nas sinagogas e nas ruas, para serem glorificados pelos homens. Em verdade eu vos digo que eles já receberam a sua recompensa.
3 But when thou doest thine almes, let not thy left hand knowe what thy right hand doeth,
3 Mas, quando tu deres esmola, não deixa a tua mão esquerda saber o que faz a tua mão direita.
4 That thine almes may be in secret, and thy Father that seeth in secret, hee will rewarde thee openly.
4 Para que a tua esmola seja feita em secreto; e teu Pai, que vê em secreto, ele mesmo te recompense publicamente.
5 And when thou prayest, be not as the hypocrites: for they loue to stand, and pray in the Synagogues, and in the corners of the streetes, because they would be seene of men. Verely I say vnto you, they haue their rewarde.
5 E, quando tu orares, não sejas como os hipócritas; pois eles adoram orar em pé nas sinagogas e nas esquinas das ruas, para serem vistos pelos homens. Em verdade eu vos digo que eles já receberam a sua recompensa.
6 But when thou prayest, enter into thy chamber and when thou hast shut thy doore, pray vnto thy Father which is in secret, and thy Father which seeth in secret, shall rewarde thee openly.
6 Mas tu, quando orares, entra no teu quarto e, fechando a tua porta, ora a teu Pai que está em secreto; e teu Pai, que vê em secreto, te recompensará publicamente.
7 Also when ye pray, vse no vaine repetitions as the Heathen: for they thinke to be heard for their much babbling.
7 Mas, orando, não useis de vãs repetições, como fazem os pagãos, pois pensam que por muito falarem serão ouvidos.
8 Be ye not like them therefore: for your Father knoweth whereof ye haue neede, before ye aske of him.
8 Não vos assemelheis a eles; pois vosso Pai sabe do que tendes necessidade antes de lhe pedirem.
9 After this maner therefore pray ye, Our father which art in heauen, halowed be thy name.
9 Orai, pois, da seguinte maneira: Pai nosso que estás no céu, santificado seja o teu nome.
10 Thy Kingdome come. Thy will be done euen in earth, as it is in heauen.
10 Venha o teu reino, seja feita a tua vontade na terra, como é no céu.
11 Giue vs this day our dayly bread.
11 O pão nosso de cada dia dá-nos hoje.
12 And forgiue vs our dettes, as we also forgiue our detters.
12 E perdoa-nos as nossas dívidas, como nós perdoamos aos nossos devedores.
13 And leade vs not into tentation, but deliuer vs from euill: for thine is the kingdome, and the power, and the glorie for euer. Amen.
13 E não nos conduzas à tentação, mas livra-nos do mal; porque teu é o reino, e o poder, e a glória, para sempre. Amém.
14 For if ye doe forgiue men their trespasses, your heauenly Father will also forgiue you.
14 Porque, se perdoardes aos homens as suas transgressões, também vosso Pai celeste vos perdoará.
15 But if ye do not forgiue men their trespasses,, no more will your father forgiue you your trespaces.
15 Mas, se não perdoardes aos homens as suas transgressões, também vosso Pai não perdoará as vossas transgressões.
16 Moreouer, when ye fast, looke not sowre as the hypocrites: for they disfigure their faces, that they might seeme vnto men to fast. Verely I say vnto you, that they haue their rewarde.
16 Além disso, quando jejuardes, não sejais como os hipócritas, de semblante triste, porque desfiguram a face, para que aos homens pareça que jejuam. Em verdade eu vos digo que eles já receberam a sua recompensa.
17 But when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face,
17 Tu, porém, quando jejuares, unge a tua cabeça e lava a tua face,
18 That thou seeme not vnto men to fast, but vnto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret, will rewarde thee openly.
18 para não pareceres aos homens que jejuas, mas a teu Pai, que está em secreto; e teu Pai, que vê em secreto, te recompensará publicamente.
19 Lay not vp treasures for your selues vpon the earth, where the mothe and canker corrupt, and where theeues digge through and steale.
19 Não ajunteis para vós tesouros na terra, onde a traça e a ferrugem os corroem, e onde os ladrões arrombam e roubam.
20 But lay vp treasures for your selues in heauen, where neither the mothe nor canker corrupteth, and where theeues neither digge through, nor steale.
20 Mas ajuntai para vós tesouros no céu, onde nem a traça nem a ferrugem corroem, e onde os ladrões não arrombam nem roubam.
21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
21 Pois onde estiver o vosso tesouro, aí estará também o vosso coração.
22 The light of the body is the eye: if then thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be light.
22 A luz do corpo é o olho; portanto, se o teu olho for puro, todo o teu corpo será cheio de luz.
23 But if thine eye be wicked, then all thy body shalbe darke. Wherefore if the light that is in thee, be darkenes, howe great is that darkenesse?
23 Se, porém, o teu olho for mau, todo o teu corpo será cheio de trevas. Se, portanto, a luz que estiver em ti for trevas, como será grande as trevas!
24 No man can serue two masters: for eyther he shall hate the one, and loue the other, or els he shall leane to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serue God and riches.
24 Nenhum homem pode servir a dois senhores; porque ou há de odiar um e amar o outro, ou se apegará a um e desprezará o outro. Não podeis servir a Deus e a Mamom.
25 Therefore I say vnto you, be not carefull for your life, what ye shall eate, or what ye shall drinke: nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more worth then meate? and the bodie then raiment?
25 Por isso eu vos digo: Não vos preocupeis pela vossa vida, pelo que haveis de comer ou pelo que haveis de beber; nem quanto ao vosso corpo, pelo que haveis de vestir. Não é a vida mais do que a comida, e o corpo mais do que o vestuário?
26 Behold the foules of the heauen: for they sowe not, neither reape, nor carie into the barnes: yet your heauenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better then they?
26 Olhai para as aves do céu; pois elas não semeiam, nem colhem, nem ajuntam em celeiros; e vosso Pai celeste as alimenta. Não sois vós muito melhores do que elas?
27 Which of you by taking care is able to adde one cubite vnto his stature?
27 Mas quem de vós, com suas preocupações, poderá acrescentar um côvado à sua estatura?
28 And why care ye for raiment? Learne howe the lilies of the fielde doe growe: they are not wearied, neither spinne:
28 E quanto as vestes, por que vos preocupeis? Olhai para os lírios do campo, como eles crescem; não trabalham nem fiam.
29 Yet I say vnto you, that euen Salomon in all his glorie was not arayed like one of these.
29 E eu vos digo que nem mesmo Salomão, em toda a sua glória, vestiu-se como um deles.
30 Wherefore if God so clothe the grasse of the fielde which is to day, and to morowe is cast into the ouen, shall he not doe much more vnto you, O ye of litle faith?
30 Portanto, se Deus assim veste a grama do campo, que hoje existe, e amanhã é lançada no forno, não vos vestirá muito mais, Oh vós de pequena fé?
31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eate? or what shall we drinke? or where with shall we be clothed?
31 Portanto, não fiqueis ansiosos, dizendo: O que comeremos ou o que beberemos, ou com que nos vestiremos?
32 (For after all these things seeke the Gentiles) for your heauenly Father knoweth, that ye haue neede of all these things.
32 (Porque todas estas coisas os gentios buscam). Porquanto vosso Pai celeste sabe que necessitais de todas estas coisas.
33 But seeke ye first the kingdome of God, and his righteousnesse, and all these things shall be ministred vnto you.
33 Mas buscai primeiro o reino de Deus, e a sua justiça, e todas estas coisas vos serão acrescentadas.
34 Care not then for the morowe: for the morowe shall care for it selfe: the day hath ynough with his owne griefe.
34 Não fiqueis ansiosos, pois, com o amanhã, porque o amanhã cuidará de si mesmo. Suficiente é ao dia o seu próprio mal.
