1 And now, O ye Priests, this commandement is for you.
1 "E agora esta advertência é para vocês, ó sacerdotes.
2 If yee will not heare it, nor consider it in your heart, to giue glory vnto my Name, sayth the Lord of hostes, I will euen sende a curse vpon you, and will curse your blessings: yea, I haue cursed them alreadie, because yee doe not consider it in your heart.
2 Se vocês não derem ouvidos e não se dispuserem a honrar o meu nome", diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, "lançarei maldição sobre vocês, e até amaldiçoarei as suas bênçãos. Aliás já as amaldiçoei, porque vocês não me honram de coração.
3 Behold, I wil corrupt your seede, and cast dongue vpon your faces, euen the dongue of your solemne feastes, and you shall be like vnto it.
3 "Por causa de vocês eu vou destruir a sua descendência; esfregarei na cara de vocês os excrementos dos animais oferecidos em sacrifício em suas festas e lançarei vocês fora, juntamente com os excrementos.
4 And yee shall know, that I haue sent this commandement vnto you, that my couenant, which I made with Leui, might stand, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
4 Então vocês saberão que fui eu que lhes dei esta advertência para que a minha aliança com Levi fosse mantida", diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.
5 My couenant was with him of life and peace, and I gaue him feare, and he feared mee, and was afraid before my Name.
5 "A minha aliança com ele foi uma aliança de vida e de paz, que de fato lhe dei para que me temesse. Ele me temeu, e tremeu diante do meu nome.
6 The lawe of trueth was in his mouth, and there was no iniquitie founde in his lippes: hee walked with me in peace and equitie, and did turne many away from iniquitie.
6 A verdadeira lei estava em sua boca e nenhuma falsidade achou-se em seus lábios. Ele andou comigo em paz e retidão, e desviou muitos do pecado.
7 For the Priestes lippes shoulde preserue knowledge, and they shoulde seeke the Lawe at his mouth: for he is the messenger of the Lord of hostes.
7 "Porque os lábios do sacerdote devem guardar o conhecimento, e da sua boca todos esperam a instrução na lei, porque ele é o mensageiro do Senhor dos Exércitos.
8 But yee are gone out of the way: yee haue caused many to fall by the Lawe: yee haue broken the couenant of Leui, sayeth the Lord of hostes.
8 Mas vocês se desviaram do caminho e pelo seu ensino causaram a queda de muita gente; vocês quebraram a aliança de Levi", diz o Senhor dos Exércitos.
9 Therefore haue I also made you to be despised, and vile before all the people, because yee kept not my wayes, but haue beene partiall in the Lawe.
9 "Por isso eu fiz que fossem desprezados e humilhados diante de todo o povo, porque vocês não seguem os meus caminhos, mas são parciais quando ensinam a lei. "
10 Haue we not all one father? hath not one God made vs? why doe we transgresse euery one against his brother, and breake the couenant of our fathers?
10 Não temos todos o mesmo Pai? Não fomos todos criados pelo mesmo Deus? Por que será então que quebramos a aliança dos nossos antepassados sendo infiéis uns com os outros?
11 Iudah hath transgressed, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Ierusalem: for Iudah hath defiled the holinesse of the Lord, which hee loued, and hath maried the daughter of a strange God.
11 Judá tem sido infiel. Uma coisa repugnante foi cometida em Israel e em Jerusalém; Judá desonrou o santuário que o Senhor ama; homens casaram-se com mulheres que adoram deuses estrangeiros.
12 The Lord will cut off the man that doeth this: both the master and the seruaunt out of the Tabernacle of Iaacob, and him that offereth an offering vnto the Lord of hostes.
12 Que o Senhor lance fora das tendas de Jacó o homem que faz isso, seja ele quem for, mesmo que esteja trazendo ofertas ao Senhor dos Exércitos.
13 And this haue ye done againe, and couered the altar of the Lord with teares, with weeping and with mourning: because the offering is no more regarded, neither receiued acceptably at your handes.
13 Há outra coisa que vocês fazem: Enchem de lágrimas o altar do Senhor; choram e gemem porque ele já não dá atenção às suas ofertas nem as aceita com prazer.
14 Yet yee say, Wherein? Because the Lord hath beene witnesse betweene thee and the wife of thy youth, against whome thou hast transgressed: yet is shee thy companion, and the wife of thy couenant.
14 E vocês ainda perguntam: "Por quê? " É porque o Senhor é testemunha entre você e a mulher da sua mocidade, pois você não cumpriu a sua promessa de fidelidade, embora ela fosse a sua companheira, a mulher do seu acordo matrimonial.
15 And did not hee make one? yet had hee abundance of spirit: and wherefore one? because he sought a godly seede: therefore keepe your selues in your spirit, and let none trespasse against the wife of his youth.
15 Não foi o Senhor que os fez um só? Em corpo e em espírito eles lhe pertencem. E por que um só? Porque ele desejava uma descendência consagrada. Portanto, tenham cuidado: Ninguém seja infiel à mulher da sua mocidade.
16 If thou hatest her, put her away, sayeth the Lord God of Israel, yet he couereth the iniurie vnder his garment, saieth the Lord of hosts: therefore keepe your selues in your spirite, and transgresse not.
16 "Eu odeio o divórcio", diz o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, e "o homem que se cobre de violência como se cobre de roupas", diz o Senhor dos Exércitos. Por isso tenham bom senso; não sejam infiéis.
17 Yee haue wearied the Lord with your woordes: yet yee say, Wherein haue we wearied him? When ye say, Euery one that doeth euill, is good in the sight of the Lord, and he deliteth in them. Or where is the God of iudgement?
17 "Vocês têm cansado o Senhor com as suas palavras. ‘Como o temos cansado? ’, vocês ainda perguntam. Quando dizem: ‘Todos os que fazem o mal são bons aos olhos do Senhor, e ele se agrada deles’ e também quando perguntam: ‘Onde está o Deus da justiça? ’ "
