1 Then went Samson to Azzah, and sawe there an harlot, and went in vnto her.
1 Sansão foi a Gaza, e viu ali uma prostituta, e coabitou com ela.
2 And it was tolde to the Azzahites, Samson is come hither. And they went about, and laied wayte for him all night in the gate of the citie, and were quiet all the nyght, saying, Abide till the morning earely, and we shall kill him.
2 Foi dito aos gazitas: Sansão chegou aqui. Cercaram-no, pois, e toda a noite o esperaram, às escondidas, na porta da cidade; e, toda a noite, estiveram em silêncio, pois diziam: Esperaremos até ao raiar do dia; então, daremos cabo dele.
3 And Samson slept till midnight, and arose at midnight, and tooke the doores of the gates of the citie, and the two postes and lift them away with the barres, and put them vpon his shoulders, and caried them vp to the top of the mountaine that is before Hebron.
3 Porém Sansão esteve deitado até à meia-noite; então, se levantou, e pegou ambas as folhas da porta da cidade com suas ombreiras, e, juntamente com a tranca, as tomou, pondo-as sobre os ombros; e levou-as para cima, até ao cimo do monte que olha para Hebrom.
4 And after this hee loued a woman by the riuer of Sorek, whose name was Delilah:
4 Depois disto, aconteceu que se afeiçoou a uma mulher do vale de Soreque, a qual se chamava Dalila.
5 Vnto whome came the princes of the Philistims, and said vnto her, Entise him, and see wherein his great strength lieth, and by what meane we may ouercome him, that we may binde him, and punish him, and euery one of vs shall giue thee eleuen hundreth shekels of siluer.
5 Então, os príncipes dos filisteus subiram a ela e lhe disseram: Persuade-o e vê em que consiste a sua grande força e com que poderíamos dominá-lo e amarrá-lo, para assim o subjugarmos; e te daremos cada um mil e cem siclos de prata.
6 And Delilah saide to Samson, Tell mee, I pray thee, wherein thy great strength lieth, and wherewith thou mightest bee bound, to doe thee hurt.
6 Disse, pois, Dalila a Sansão: Declara-me, peço-te, em que consiste a tua grande força e com que poderias ser amarrado para te poderem subjugar.
7 Samson then answered vnto her, If they binde mee with seuen greene cordes, that were neuer dryed, then shall I bee weake, and be as an other man.
7 Respondeu-lhe Sansão: Se me amarrarem com sete tendões frescos, ainda não secos, então, me enfraquecerei, e serei como qualquer outro homem.
8 And the princes of the Philistims brought her seuen greene cordes that were not dry, and she bound him therewith.
8 Os príncipes dos filisteus trouxeram a Dalila sete tendões frescos, que ainda não estavam secos; e com os tendões ela o amarrou.
9 (And she had men lying in wayte with her in the chamber) Then she said vnto him, The Philistims be vpon thee, Samson. And hee brake the cordes, as a threede of towe is broken, when it feeleth fire: so his strength was not knowen.
9 Tinha ela no seu quarto interior homens escondidos. Então, ela lhe disse: Os filisteus vêm sobre ti, Sansão! Quebrou ele os tendões como se quebra o fio da estopa chamuscada; assim, não se soube em que lhe consistia a força.
10 After Delilah saide vnto Samson, See, thou hast mocked mee and tolde mee lies. I pray thee nowe, tell me wherewith thou mightest be bound.
10 Disse Dalila a Sansão: Eis que zombaste de mim e me disseste mentiras; ora, declara-me, agora, com que poderias ser amarrado.
11 Then he answered her, If they binde mee with newe ropes that neuer were occupied, then shall I be weake, and be as an other man.
11 Ele lhe disse: Se me amarrarem bem com cordas novas, com que se não tenha feito obra nenhuma, então, me enfraquecerei e serei como qualquer outro homem.
12 Delilah therefore tooke newe ropes, and bounde him therewith, and saide vnto him, The Philistims be vpon thee, Samson: (and men lay in wayte in the chamber) and hee brake them from his armes, as a threede.
12 Dalila tomou cordas novas, e o amarrou, e disse-lhe: Os filisteus vêm sobre ti, Sansão! Tinha ela no seu quarto interior homens escondidos. Ele as rebentou de seus braços como um fio.
13 Afterward Delilah said to Samson, Hitherto thou hast beguiled mee, and tolde me lies: tell me how thou mightest be bounde. And he sayde vnto her, If thou plattedst seuen lockes of mine head with the threedes of the woufe.
13 Disse Dalila a Sansão: Até agora, tens zombado de mim e me tens dito mentiras; declara-me, pois, agora: com que poderias ser amarrado? Ele lhe respondeu: Se teceres as sete tranças da minha cabeça com a urdidura da teia e se as firmares com pino de tear, então, me enfraquecerei e serei como qualquer outro homem. Enquanto ele dormia, tomou ela as sete tranças e as teceu com a urdidura da teia.
14 And she fastened it with a pinne, and saide vnto him, The Philistims be vpon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleepe, and went away with the pinne of the webbe and the woufe.
14 E as fixou com um pino de tear e disse-lhe: Os filisteus vêm sobre ti, Sansão! Então, despertou do seu sono e arrancou o pino e a urdidura da teia.
15 Againe shee sayde vnto him, Howe canst thou say, I loue thee, when thine heart is not with me? thou hast mocked mee these three times, and hast not tolde me wherein thy great strength lieth.
15 Então, ela lhe disse: Como dizes que me amas, se não está comigo o teu coração? Já três vezes zombaste de mim e ainda não me declaraste em que consiste a tua grande força.
16 And because shee was importunate vpon him with her wordes continually, and vexed him, his soule was pained vnto the death.
16 Importunando-o ela todos os dias com as suas palavras e molestando-o, apoderou-se da alma dele uma impaciência de matar.
17 Therefore he tolde her all his heart, and said vnto her, There neuer came rasor vpon mine head: for I am a Nazarite vnto God from my mothers wombe: therefore if I bee shauen, my strength will goe from me, and I shalbe weake, and be like all other men.
17 Descobriu-lhe todo o coração e lhe disse: Nunca subiu navalha à minha cabeça, porque sou nazireu de Deus, desde o ventre de minha mãe; se vier a ser rapado, ir-se-á de mim a minha força, e me enfraquecerei e serei como qualquer outro homem.
18 And when Delilah sawe that he had tolde her all his heart, she sent, and called for the Princes of ye Philistims, saying, Come vp once againe: for he hath shewed mee all his heart. Then the Princes of the Philistims came vp vnto her, and brought the money in their handes.
18 Vendo, pois, Dalila que já ele lhe descobrira todo o coração, mandou chamar os príncipes dos filisteus, dizendo: Subi mais esta vez, porque, agora, me descobriu ele todo o coração. Então, os príncipes dos filisteus subiram a ter com ela e trouxeram com eles o dinheiro.
19 And she made him sleepe vpon her knees, and she called a man, and made him to shaue off the seuen lockes of his head, and shee began to vexe him, and his strength was gone from him.
19 Então, Dalila fez dormir Sansão nos joelhos dela e, tendo chamado um homem, mandou rapar-lhe as sete tranças da cabeça; passou ela a subjugá-lo; e retirou-se dele a sua força.
20 Then she said, The Philistims be vpon thee, Samson. And hee awoke out of his sleepe, and thought, I will go out now as at other times, and shake my selfe, but he knewe not that the Lord was departed from him.
20 E disse ela: Os filisteus vêm sobre ti, Sansão! Tendo ele despertado do seu sono, disse consigo mesmo: Sairei ainda esta vez como dantes e me livrarei; porque ele não sabia ainda que já o Senhor se tinha retirado dele.
21 Therefore the Philistims tooke him, and put out his eyes, and brought him downe to Azzah, and bounde him with fetters: and hee did grinde in the prison house.
21 Então, os filisteus pegaram nele, e lhe vazaram os olhos, e o fizeram descer a Gaza; amarraram-no com duas cadeias de bronze, e virava um moinho no cárcere.
22 And the heare of his head began to growe againe after that it was shauen.
22 E o cabelo da sua cabeça, logo após ser rapado, começou a crescer de novo.
23 Then the Princes of the Philistims gathered them together for to offer a great sacrifice vnto Dagon their god, and to reioyce: for they said, Our god hath deliuered Samson our enemie into our handes.
23 Então, os príncipes dos filisteus se ajuntaram para oferecer grande sacrifício a seu deus Dagom e para se alegrarem; e diziam: Nosso deus nos entregou nas mãos a Sansão, nosso inimigo.
24 Also when the people saw him, they praysed their god: for they sayde, Our god hath deliuered into our hands our enemie and destroyer of our countrey, which hath slayne many of vs.
24 Vendo-o o povo, louvavam ao seu deus, porque diziam: Nosso deus nos entregou nas mãos o nosso inimigo, e o que destruía a nossa terra, e o que multiplicava os nossos mortos.
25 And when their heartes were merie, they said, Call Samson, that he may make vs pastime. So they called Samson out of the prison house, and he was a laughing stocke vnto them, and they set him betweene the pillars.
25 Alegrando-se-lhes o coração, disseram: Mandai vir Sansão, para que nos divirta. Trouxeram Sansão do cárcere, o qual os divertia. Quando o fizeram estar em pé entre as colunas,
26 Then Samson saide vnto the seruant that led him by the hande, Lead me, that I may touch the pillars that the house standeth vpon, and that I may leane to them.
26 disse Sansão ao moço que o tinha pela mão: Deixa-me, para que apalpe as colunas em que se sustém a casa, para que me encoste a elas.
27 (Nowe the house was full of men and women, and there were all the princes of the Philistims: also vpon the roofe were about three thousande men and women that behelde while Samson played)
27 Ora, a casa estava cheia de homens e mulheres, e também ali estavam todos os príncipes dos filisteus; e sobre o teto havia uns três mil homens e mulheres, que olhavam enquanto Sansão os divertia.
28 Then Samson called vnto the Lord, and sayde, O Lord God, I pray thee, thinke vpon me: O God, I beseech thee, strengthen me at this time onely, that I may be at once auenged of the Philistims for my two eyes.
28 Sansão clamou ao Senhor e disse: Senhor Deus, peço-te que te lembres de mim, e dá-me força só esta vez, ó Deus, para que me vingue dos filisteus, ao menos por um dos meus olhos.
29 And Samson layd hold on the two middle pillars whereupon the house stood, and on which it was borne vp: on the one with his right hand, and on the other with his left.
29 Abraçou-se, pois, Sansão com as duas colunas do meio, em que se sustinha a casa, e fez força sobre elas, com a mão direita em uma e com a esquerda na outra.
30 Then Samson saide, Let me lose my life with the Philistims: and he bowed him with all his might, and the house fell vpon the princes, and vpon all the people that were therein. so the dead which he slewe at his death were more then they which he had slaine in his life.
30 E disse: Morra eu com os filisteus. E inclinou-se com força, e a casa caiu sobre os príncipes e sobre todo o povo que nela estava; e foram mais os que matou na sua morte do que os que matara na sua vida.
31 Then his brethren, and all the house of his father came downe and tooke him, and brought him vp and buryed him betweene Zorah and Eshtaol, in the sepulchre of Manoah his father: nowe he had iudged Israel twenty yeeres.
31 Então, seus irmãos desceram, e toda a casa de seu pai, tomaram-no, subiram com ele e o sepultaram entre Zorá e Estaol, no sepulcro de Manoá, seu pai. Julgou ele a Israel vinte anos.
