1 In the beginning of the reigne of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah came this worde vnto Ieremiah from the Lord, saying,
1 No princípio do reinado de Zedequias, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, veio da parte do Senhor esta palavra a Jeremias:
2 Thus saith the Lord to me, Make thee bonds, and yokes, and put them vpon thy necke,
2 Assim me disse o Senhor : — Faça cangas com tiras de couro e canzis e coloque-as no seu pescoço.
3 And send them to the King of Edom, and to the King of Moab, and to the King of the Ammonites, and to the King of Tyrus, and to the king of Zidon, by the hande of the messengers which come to Ierusale vnto Zedekiah ye king of Iudah,
3 Por meio dos mensageiros que vieram a Jerusalém para se encontrar com Zedequias, rei de Judá, envie essas cangas ao rei de Edom, ao rei de Moabe, ao rei dos filhos de Amom, ao rei de Tiro e ao rei de Sidom.
4 And commande them to saye vnto their masters, Thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, Thus shall ye say vnto your masters,
4 Ordene-lhes que digam aos seus senhores: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel:
5 I haue made the earth, the man, and the beast that are vpon the groud, by my great power, and by my outstreched arme, and haue giuen it vnto whom it pleased me.
5 — “Eu fiz a terra, os seres humanos e os animais que estão sobre a face da terra, com o meu grande poder e com o meu braço estendido, e a dou a quem eu quiser.
6 But nowe I haue giuen all these landes into the hand of Nebuchad-nezzar the King of Babel my seruant, and the beastes of the fielde haue I also giuen him to serue him.
6 Agora eu entreguei todas estas terras nas mãos de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, meu servo. Até os animais selvagens eu entreguei a ele, para que o sirvam.
7 And all nations shall serue him, and his sonne, and his sonnes sonne vntill the very time of his lande come also: then many nations and great Kinges shall serue themselues of him.
7 Todas as nações servirão a ele, a seu filho e ao filho de seu filho, até que também chegue a vez da sua própria terra, quando muitas nações e grandes reis o fizerem seu escravo.”
8 And the nation and kingdome which will not serue the same Nebuchad-nezzar king of Babel, and that will not put their necke vnder the yoke of the King of Babel, the same nation will I visite, saith the Lord, with the sworde, and with the famine, and with the pestilence, vntill I haue wholy giuen them into his hands.
8 — “Se alguma nação ou reino não servir Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, e não puser o pescoço debaixo do jugo do rei da Babilônia, então castigarei essa nação com espada, com fome e com peste, diz o Senhor , até que eu a destrua completamente por meio de Nabucodonosor.
9 Therefore heare not your prophets nor your southsayers, nor your dreamers, nor your inchanters, nor your sorcerers, which say vnto you thus, Ye shall not serue the King of Babel.
9 Quanto a vocês, não deem ouvidos aos seus profetas, aos seus adivinhos, aos seus sonhadores, aos seus agoureiros e aos seus encantadores, que dizem que vocês não devem servir o rei da Babilônia.
10 For they prophecie a lie vnto you to cause you to goe farre from your lande, and that I should cast you out, and you should perish.
10 Porque eles profetizam mentiras para que vocês sejam mandados para longe da sua terra, e para que vocês sejam expulsos por mim e destruídos.
11 But the nation that put their neckes vnder the yoke of the King of Babel, and serue him, those wil I let remaine stil in their owne land, saith the Lord, and they shall occupie it, and dwel therein.
11 Mas a nação que colocar o pescoço sob o jugo do rei da Babilônia e o servir, eu a deixarei na sua terra, para cultivá-la e morar nela”, diz o Senhor .
12 I spake also to Zedekiah king of Iudah according to all these wordes, saying, Put your neckes vnder the yoke of the King of Babel, and serue him and his people, that ye may liue.
12 Também a Zedequias, rei de Judá, eu falei nos mesmos termos, dizendo: — Coloquem o pescoço sob o jugo do rei da Babilônia, sirvam a ele e ao seu povo, e vocês viverão.
13 Why will ye dye, thou, and thy people by the sworde, by the famine, and by the pestilence, as the Lord hath spoken against the nation, that will not serue the King of Babel?
13 Por que é que você e o seu povo morreriam à espada, de fome e de peste, como o Senhor disse que acontecerá com a nação que não servir o rei da Babilônia?
14 Therefore heare not the words of the prophets, that speake vnto you, saying, Ye shall not serue the King of Babel: for they prophecie a lie vnto you.
14 Não deem ouvidos às palavras dos profetas que dizem que vocês não devem servir o rei da Babilônia. É mentira o que eles profetizam.
15 For I haue not sent them, saith the Lord, yet they prophecie a lie in my name, that I might cast you out, and that ye might perish, both you, and the prophets that prophecie vnto you.
15 Porque não os enviei, diz o Senhor , e profetizam falsamente em meu nome, para que vocês sejam expulsos por mim e destruídos, vocês e eles que profetizam essas coisas.
16 Also I spake to the Priests, and to all this people, saying, Thus saith the Lord, Heare not the wordes of your prophets that prophecie vnto you, saying, Behold, the vessels of the house of the Lord shall nowe shortly be brought againe from Babel, for they prophecie a lie vnto you.
16 Também falei aos sacerdotes e a todo este povo, dizendo: — Assim diz o
17 Heare them not, but serue the King of Babel, that ye may liue: wherefore shoulde this citie be desolate?
17 Não deem ouvidos ao que eles dizem; sirvam o rei da Babilônia e vocês viverão. Por que fazer com que esta cidade se torne um montão de ruínas?
18 But if they be Prophets, and if the word of the Lord be with them, let them intreate the Lord of hostes, that the vessels, which are left in the House of the Lord, and in the house of the King of Iudah, and at Ierusalem, go not to Babel.
18 Porém, se eles são profetas, e se a palavra do Senhor está com eles, que orem ao Senhor dos Exércitos, para que os utensílios que ficaram na Casa do Senhor , e no palácio do rei de Judá, e em Jerusalém não sejam levados para a Babilônia.”
19 For thus saith the Lord of hostes, concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the bases, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remaine in this citie,
19 — Porque assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos a respeito das colunas, do mar de fundição, dos suportes e dos outros utensílios que ficaram na cidade,
20 Which Nebuchad-nezzar King of Babel tooke not, when he caryed away captiue Ieconiah the sonne of Iehoiakim King of Iudah from Ierusalem to Babel, with all the nobles of Iudah and Ierusalem.
20 os quais Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, não levou, quando deportou, de Jerusalém para a Babilônia, Jeconias, filho de Jeoaquim, rei de Judá, assim como todos os nobres de Judá e de Jerusalém;
21 For thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that remaine in the House of the Lord, and in the house of the King of Iudah, and at Ierusalem,
21 sim, isto diz o Senhor dos Exércitos, o Deus de Israel, a respeito dos utensílios que ficaram na Casa do Senhor , e no palácio do rei de Judá, e em Jerusalém:
22 They shall be brought to Babel, and there they shalbe vntil the day that I visite them, saith the Lord: then will I bring them vp, and restore them vnto this place.
22 “Serão levados para a Babilônia, onde ficarão até o dia em que eu atentar para eles, diz o Senhor ; então farei com que sejam trazidos e devolvidos a este lugar.”
