1 When Pashur, the sonne of Immer, the Priest, which was appointed gouernour in the house of the Lord, heard that Ieremiah prophecied these things,
1 Pasur, filho do sacerdote Imer, que era superintendente da Casa do Senhor , ouviu Jeremias profetizando estas coisas
2 Then Pashur smote Ieremiah the Prophet, and put him in the stockes that were in the hie gate of Beniamin which was by the House of the Lord.
2 e por isso mandou que o profeta fosse açoitado e preso no tronco que ficava junto ao portão superior de Benjamim, na Casa do Senhor . No dia seguinte, Pasur mandou que Jeremias fosse tirado do tronco.
3 And on the morning, Pashur brought Ieremiah out of the stockes. Then said Ieremiah vnto him, The Lord hath not called thy name Pashur, but Magor-missabib.
3 Então Jeremias lhe disse: — O
4 For thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will make thee to be a terrour to thy self, and to al thy friends, and they shall fall by the sword of their enemies, and thine eyes shall beholde it, and I will giue all Iudah into the hande of the King of Babel, and he shall cary them captiue into Babel, and shall slay them with the sworde.
4 Pois assim diz o Senhor : “Eis que farei de você um terror para você mesmo e para todos os seus amigos. Eles serão mortos à espada pelos seus inimigos, e você verá isso. Entregarei todo o povo de Judá nas mãos do rei da Babilônia, que os levará presos à Babilônia e os matará à espada.
5 Moreouer, I will deliuer all the substance of this citie, and all the labours thereof, and al the precious things thereof, and all the treasures of the Kings of Iudah will I giue into the hande of their enemies, which shall spoyle them, and take them away and cary them to Babel.
5 Também entregarei toda a riqueza desta cidade, todo o fruto do seu trabalho e todas as suas coisas preciosas; sim, entregarei todos os tesouros dos reis de Judá nas mãos de seus inimigos, os quais hão de saquear, pegar e levar tudo para a Babilônia.
6 And thou Pashur, and all that dwell in thine house, shall go into captiuitie, and thou shalt come to Babel, and there thou shalt die, and shalt be buryed there, thou and all thy friendes, to whome thou hast prophecied lyes.
6 E você, Pasur, e todos os moradores da sua casa serão levados para o cativeiro. Você irá à Babilônia, onde morrerá e será sepultado, você e todos os seus amigos, aos quais você profetizou falsamente.”
7 O Lord, thou hast deceiued me, and I am deceiued: thou art stronger then I, and hast preuailed: I am in derision daily: euery one mocketh me.
7 Tu me persuadiste, Senhor , e eu fui persuadido. Foste mais forte do que eu e prevaleceste. Sou motivo de riso o dia inteiro; todos zombam de mim.
8 For since I spake, I cryed out of wrong, and proclaimed desolation: therefore the word of the Lord was made a reproche vnto me, and in derision daily.
8 Porque, sempre que falo, tenho de gritar e clamar: “Violência e destruição!” Por causa da palavra do sou objeto de deboche e de zombaria o tempo todo.
9 Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speake any more in his Name. But his worde was in mine heart as a burning fire shut vp in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.
9 Quando pensei: “Não me lembrarei dele e não falarei mais em seu nome”, então isso se tornou em meu coração como um fogo, encerrado nos meus ossos. Estou cansado de sofrer e não posso mais.
10 For I had heard the railing of many, and feare on euery side. Declare, said they, and wee wil declare it: all my familiars watched for mine halting, saying, It may be that he is deceiued: so we shall preuaile against him, and we shall execute our vengeance vpon him.
10 Porque ouvi a murmuração de muitos: “Há terror por todos os lados! Denunciem, e nós o denunciaremos!” Todos os meus amigos íntimos esperam que eu tropece e dizem: “Talvez ele se deixe persuadir; então nós o venceremos e dele nos vingaremos.”
11 But the Lord is with me like a mightie gyant: therefore my persecuters shall be ouerthrowen, and shall not preuaile, and shalbe greatly confounded: for they haue done vnwisely, and their euerlasting shame shall neuer be forgotten.
11 Mas o Senhor está comigo como um poderoso guerreiro. Por isso, os meus perseguidores tropeçarão e não vencerão. Ficarão muito envergonhados por causa do seu fracasso; sofrerão afronta perpétua, que jamais será esquecida.
12 But, O Lord of hostes, that tryest the righteous, and seest the reines and the heart, let me see thy vengeance on them: for vnto thee haue I opened my cause.
12 Ó Senhor dos Exércitos, que provas o justo e vês o mais íntimo do coração, permite que eu veja a tua vingança contra eles, pois te confiei a minha causa.
13 Sing vnto the Lord, praise ye the Lord: for he hath deliuered the soule of the poore from the hande of the wicked.
13 Cantem ao Senhor ! Louvem o Pois ele livrou a vida do necessitado das mãos dos malfeitores.
14 Cursed be the day wherein I was borne: and let not the day wherein my mother bare me, be blessed.
14 Maldito o dia em que eu nasci! Não seja bendito o dia em que a minha mãe me deu à luz!
15 Cursed be the man, that shewed my father, saying, A man child is borne vnto thee, and comforted him.
15 Maldito o homem que deu a notícia a meu pai, dizendo: “Nasceu o seu filho! É um menino!”, causando-lhe grande alegria.
16 And let that man be as the cities, which the Lord hath ouerturned and repented not: and let him heare the cry in the morning, and the showting at noone tide,
16 Que esse homem seja como as cidades que o destruiu! Que ele ouça gritos de dor pela manhã e alarido de guerra ao meio-dia,
17 Because he hath not slaine me, euen from the wombe, or that my mother might haue bene my graue, or her wobe a perpetual conception.
17 porque não me matou no ventre materno. Então a minha mãe teria sido a minha sepultura, e ela teria ficado para sempre grávida.
18 How is it, that I came forth of the wombe, to see labour and sorowe, that my dayes shoulde be consumed with shame?
18 Por que saí do ventre materno tão somente para ver trabalho e tristeza e para que se consumam de vergonha os meus dias?
