1 Then Ionah prayed vnto the Lord his God out of the fishes belly,
1 Ali, de dentro do peixe, Jonas orou ao Senhor , seu Deus, dizendo:
2 And said, I cryed in mine affliction vnto the Lord, and he heard me: out of the bellie of hell cryed I, and thou heardest my voyce.
2 “Ó Senhor Deus, na minha aflição clamei por socorro, e tu me respondeste; do fundo do e tu ouviste a minha voz.
3 For thou haddest cast me into the bottome in the middes of the sea, and the floods compassed me about: all thy surges, and all thy waues passed ouer me.
3 Tu me atiraste no abismo , bem no fundo do mar. Ali as águas me cercavam por todos os lados, e todas as tuas poderosas ondas rolavam sobre mim.
4 Then I saide, I am cast away out of thy sight: yet will I looke againe towarde thine holy Temple.
4 Pensei que havia sido jogado fora da tua presença e que não tornaria a ver o teu santo Templo.
5 The waters compassed me about vnto the soule: the depth closed me rounde about, and the weedes were wrapt about mine head.
5 “As águas vieram sobre mim e me sufocaram; o mar me cobriu completamente, e as plantas marinhas se enrolaram na minha cabeça.
6 I went downe to the bottome of the moutaines: the earth with her barres was about me for euer, yet hast thou brought vp my life from the pit, O Lord my God.
6 Desci até a raiz das montanhas, desci à terra que tem o portão trancado para sempre . Tu, porém, me salvaste da morte, ó
7 When my soule fainted within me, I remembred the Lord: and my prayer came vnto thee, into thine holy Temple.
7 Quando senti que estava morrendo, eu lembrei de ti, ó e a minha oração chegou a ti, no teu santo Templo.
8 They that waite vpon lying vanities, forsake their owne mercie.
8 “Aqueles que adoram ídolos, que são coisas sem valor, deixaram de ser fiéis a ti.
9 But I will sacrifice vnto thee with the voice of thankesgiuing, and will pay that that I haue vowed: saluation is of the Lord.
9 Mas eu cantarei louvores, e te oferecerei e cumprirei o que prometi. A salvação vem de Deus, o
10 And the Lord spake vnto the fish, and it cast out Ionah vpon the dry lande.
10 Então o Senhor deu ordem ao peixe, e ele vomitou Jonas na praia.
