1 Thus saith the Lord, The heauen is my throne, and the earth is my footestoole: where is that house that ye will builde vnto me? and where is that place of my rest?
1 O Senhor diz: “O céu é o meu trono, e a terra é o estrado onde descanso os meus pés. Que tipo de casa vocês poderiam construir para mim? Como conseguiriam construir um lugar onde eu pudesse morar?
2 For all these things hath mine hand made, and all these things haue bene, sayth the Lord: and to him will I looke, euen to him, that is poore, and of a contrite spirite and trembleth at my wordes.
2 Eu mesmo fiz o céu e a terra, e todas as coisas são minhas. Mas eu cuido dos pobres e dos arrependidos, dos que me
3 He that killeth a bullocke, is as if he slewe a man: he that sacrificeth a sheepe, as if he cut off a dogges necke: he that offereth an oblation, as if he offered swines blood: he that remembreth incense, as if he blessed an idole: yea, they haue chosen their owne wayes, and their soule deliteth in their abominations.
3 Porém há pessoas que matam um touro para o oferecer em sacrifício e matam também um homem; há pessoas que matam uma ovelha como sacrifício e matam também um cachorro; há pessoas que me oferecem cereais e me oferecem também sangue de porco; há pessoas que queimam incenso a mim e também adoram uma imagem. Essas pessoas resolveram fazer o que querem e têm prazer nas suas ações nojentas.
4 Therefore will I chuse out their delusions, and I will bring their feare vpon them, because I called, and none woulde answere: I spake and they woulde not heare: but they did euill in my sight, and chose the things which I would not.
4 Por isso, eu decidi fazê-las sofrer e resolvi descarregar sobre elas os castigos de que elas têm medo. Pois eu chamei, mas ninguém respondeu; falei, mas ninguém me deu atenção. Pelo contrário, fizeram o que me desagrada, escolheram coisas que me aborrecem.”
5 Heare the worde of the Lord, all ye that tremble at his worde, Your brethren that hated you, and cast you out for my Names sake, said, Let the Lord be glorified: but he shall appeare to your ioy, and they shall be ashamed.
5 Todos os que temem e obedecem ao Senhor , escutem as suas palavras. O “Os seus patrícios os odeiam e não querem saber de vocês porque vocês são fiéis a mim. Eles lhes dizem: ‘Que o para que possamos vê-los alegres!’ Pois essas pessoas vão ficar envergonhadas.
6 A voyce soundeth from the citie, euen a voyce from the Temple, the voyce of the Lord, that recompenseth his enemies fully.
6 Escutem o forte barulho na cidade, o barulho que há no Templo! É o barulho de Deus, o castigando os seus inimigos como eles merecem.
7 Before she trauailed, she brought foorth: and before her paine came, she was deliuered of a man childe.
7 “Será que uma mulher dá à luz antes de sentir dores de parto? Será que pode dar à luz um filho sem sofrer?
8 Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seene such things? shall ye earth be brought forth in one day? or shall a nation be borne at once? for assoone as Zion trauailed, she brought foorth her children.
8 Quem já ouviu falar de uma coisa assim? Quem já viu isso acontecer? Pois será que um país pode nascer num dia só? Uma nação aparece assim num instante? Mas foi isto mesmo que aconteceu com assim que sentiu dores de parto, ela deu à luz os seus filhos.
9 Shall I cause to trauaile, and not bring forth? shall I cause to bring forth, and shall be baren, saith thy God?
9 Sou eu quem faz vir as dores de parto; será que eu não vou deixar que os filhos nasçam? Sou eu, o
10 Reioyce ye with Ierusalem, and be gladde with her, all ye that loue her: reioyce for ioy with her, all ye that mourne for her,
10 “Alegrem-se junto com Jerusalém e cantem hinos de louvor, todos os que a amam. Alegrem-se junto com Jerusalém, todos os que choraram por ela.
11 That ye may sucke and be satisfied with the brestes of her consolation: that ye may milke out and be delited with ye brightnes of her glorie.
11 E ela, como uma mãe que dá de mamar ao seu filho, dará a vocês das suas riquezas, e vocês ficarão satisfeitos.
12 For thus saith the Lord, Beholde, I will extend peace ouer her like a flood, and the glorie of the Gentiles like a flowing streame: then shall ye sucke, ye shall be borne vpon her sides, and be ioyfull vpon her knees.
12 Pois eu, o Senhor , prometo a Jerusalém que farei com que a prosperidade venha como um rio e com que as riquezas das nações venham a ela como se fossem uma enchente. Então Jerusalém será como uma mãe; ela lhes dará de mamar, carregará vocês nos braços e no colo os abraçará com carinho.
13 As one whom his mother comforteth, so will I comfort you, and ye shall be comforted in Ierusalem.
13 Como a mãe consola o filho, eu também consolarei vocês; eu os consolarei em Jerusalém.
14 And when ye see this, your hearts shall reioyce, and your bones shall flourish like an herbe: and the hand of the Lord shall be knowen among his seruants, and his indignation against his enemies.
14 Quando virem isso acontecer, vocês ficarão contentes e terão novas forças, como uma planta que cresce viçosa. Vocês ficarão sabendo que eu, o mas, quando fico
15 For beholde, the Lord will come with fire, and his charets like a whirlewinde, that he may recompence his anger with wrath, and his indignation with the flame of fire.
15 O Senhor Deus virá no meio do fogo; os seus carros de guerra são como uma forte ventania; ele virá descarregar sobre os inimigos a sua ira furiosa e as chamas de fogo do seu castigo.
16 For the Lord will iudge with fire, and with his sworde all flesh, and the slaine of the Lord shall be many.
16 Com o fogo e com a espada, o e matar muitos dos seus moradores.
17 They that sanctifie themselues, and purifie themselues in the gardens behinde one tree in the middes eating swines flesh, and such abomination, euen the mouse, shall be consumed together, sayeth the Lord.
17 O Senhor diz: — Existem pessoas que se
18 For I will visite their workes, and their imaginations: for it shall come that I will gather all nations, and tongues, and they shall come, and see my glorie.
18 pois eu sei o que elas fazem e o que pensam. — Eu virei para ajuntar todas as nações e todos os povos. Eles virão e verão o brilho da minha
19 And I will set a signe among them, and will send those that escape of them, vnto the nations of Tarshish, Pul, and Lud, and to them that drawe the bowe, to Tubal and Tauan, yles afarre off, that haue not heard my fame, neither haue seene my glorie, and they shall declare my glorie among the Gentiles.
19 Eu porei no meio deles um sinal da minha autoridade. E, dos que ficarem vivos depois do meu julgamento, enviarei alguns para as nações mais distantes, onde nunca se ouviu falar da minha fama, nem foi visto o meu poder. Eu os enviarei até a Espanha, a Líbia e a Lídia, países onde há ótimos atiradores de flechas; irão também para Tubal e para a Grécia. Em todas essas nações, eles anunciarão o meu grande poder.
20 And they shall bring all your brethren for an offering vnto the Lord out of all nations, vpon horses, and in charets, and in horse litters, and vpon mules, and swift beastes, to Ierusalem mine holy Mountaine, saith the Lord, as the children of Israel, offer in a cleane vessell in the House of the Lord.
20 E trarão de volta todos os patrícios de vocês como uma oferta para mim. Eles virão até o meu monte santo em Jerusalém montados em cavalos, mulas e camelos e trazidos em carretas e carroças. Esses seus patrícios serão oferecidos a mim assim como os israelitas trazem ao Templo as suas ofertas de cereais em vasilhas puras.
21 And I will take of them for Priestes, and for Leuites, saith the Lord.
21 Eu escolherei alguns deles para serem sacerdotes e outros para serem levitas .
22 For as the newe heauens, and the newe earth which I will make, shall remaine before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seede and your name continue.
22 O Senhor Deus diz: “Assim como o novo céu e a nova terra que eu vou criar durarão para sempre pelo meu poder, assim também durarão os nomes de vocês, e vocês sempre terão descendentes.
23 And from moneth to moneth, and from Sabbath to Sabbath shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.
23 Em todas as Festas da Lua Nova e em todos os sábados, pessoas de todas as nações virão me adorar no Templo.
24 And they shall goe forth, and looke vpon the carkases of the men that haue transgressed against me: for their worme shall not dye, neither shall their fire be quenched, and they shalbe an abhorring vnto all flesh.
24 Depois, sairão da cidade e verão os corpos daqueles que foram mortos por terem se revoltado contra mim. Os vermes que os devoram nunca morrerão, e o fogo que os queima nunca se apagará. Todos terão nojo deles. Eu, o
