1 Hear yee me, O yles, and hearken, yee people from farre. The Lord hath called me from the wombe, and made mention of my name from my mothers bellie.
1 Ouvi-me, ilhas, e escutai vós, povos de longe: O SENHOR me chamou desde o ventre, desde as entranhas de minha mãe fez menção do meu nome.
2 And hee hath made my mouth like a sharpe sworde: vnder the shadowe of his hande hath he hid mee, and made me a chosen shafte, and hid me in his quiuer,
2 E fez a minha boca como uma espada aguda, com a sombra da sua mão me cobriu; e me pôs como uma flecha limpa, e me escondeu na sua aljava;
3 And sayd vnto me, Thou art my seruaunt, Israel, for I will be glorious in thee.
3 E me disse: Tu és meu servo; és Israel, aquele por quem hei de ser glorificado.
4 And I said, I haue labored in vaine: I haue spent my strength in vaine and for nothing: but my iudgement is with the Lord, and my woorke with my God.
4 Porém eu disse: Debalde tenho trabalhado, inútil e vãmente gastei as minhas forças; todavia o meu direito está perante o Senhor, e o meu galardão perante o meu Deus.
5 And now sayeth the Lord, that formed me from the wombe to be his seruaunt, that I may bring Iaakob againe to him (though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I bee glorious in the eyes of the Lord: and my God shall be my strength)
5 E agora diz o Senhor, que me formou desde o ventre para ser seu servo, para que torne a trazer Jacó; porém Israel não se deixará ajuntar; contudo aos olhos do Senhor serei glorificado, e o meu Deus será a minha força.
6 And hee sayde, It is a small thing that thou shouldest be my seruaunt, to raise vp the tribes of Iaakob, and to restore the desolations of Israel: I will also giue thee for a light of the Gentiles, that thou maiest bee my saluation vnto the ende of the worlde.
6 Disse mais: Pouco é que sejas o meu servo, para restaurares as tribos de Jacó, e tornares a trazer os preservados de Israel; também te dei para luz dos gentios, para seres a minha salvação até à extremidade da terra.
7 Thus sayeth the Lord the redeemer of Israel, and his Holie one, to him that is despised in soule, to a nation that is abhorred, to a seruaunt of rulers, Kinges shall see, and arise, and princes shall worship, because of the Lord, that is faithfull: and ye Holy one of Israel, which hath chosen thee.
7 Assim diz o Senhor, o Redentor de Israel, o seu Santo, à alma desprezada, ao que a nação abomina, ao servo dos que dominam: Os reis o verão, e se levantarão, como também os príncipes, e eles diante de ti se inclinarão, por amor do Senhor, que é fiel, e do Santo de Israel, que te escolheu.
8 Thus sayeth the Lord, In an acceptable time haue I heard thee, and in a day of saluation haue I helped thee: and I will preserue thee, and wil giue thee for a couenant of ye people, that thou maiest raise vp the earth, and obtaine the inheritance of the desolate heritages:
8 Assim diz o Senhor: No tempo aceitável te ouvi e no dia da salvação te ajudei, e te guardarei, e te darei por aliança do povo, para restaurares a terra, e dar-lhes em herança as herdades assoladas;
9 That thou maiest say to the prisoners, Goe foorth: and to them that are in darkenesse, Shewe your selues: they shall feede in the waies, and their pastures shall bee in all the toppes of the hilles.
9 Para dizeres aos presos: Saí; e aos que estão em trevas: Aparecei. Eles pastarão nos caminhos, e em todos os lugares altos haverá o seu pasto.
10 They shall not be hungrie, neither shall they be thirstie, neither shall the heat smite them, nor the sunne: for he that hath compassion on them, shall leade them: euen to the springs of waters shall he driue them.
10 Nunca terão fome, nem sede, nem o calor, nem o sol os afligirá; porque o que se compadece deles os guiará e os levará mansamente aos mananciais das águas.
11 And I will make all my mountaines, as a way, and my paths shalbe exalted.
11 E farei de todos os meus montes um caminho; e as minhas estradas serão levantadas.
12 Beholde, these shall come from farre: and loe, these from the North and from the West, and these from the land of Sinim.
12 Eis que estes virão de longe, e eis que aqueles do norte, e do ocidente, e aqueles outros da terra de Sinim.
13 Reioyce, O heauens: and bee ioyfull, O earth: brast foorth into praise, O mountaines: for God hath comforted his people, and will haue mercie vpon his afflicted.
13 Exultai, ó céus, e alegra-te, ó terra, e vós, montes, estalai com júbilo, porque o Senhor consolou o seu povo, e dos seus aflitos se compadecerá.
14 But Zion saide, The Lord hath forsaken me, and my Lord hath forgotten me.
14 Porém Sião diz: Já me desamparou o Senhor, e o meu Senhor se esqueceu de mim.
15 Can a woman forget her childe, and not haue compassion on the sonne of her wombe? though they should forget, yet wil I not forget thee.
15 Porventura pode uma mulher esquecer-se tanto de seu filho que cria, que não se compadeça dele, do filho do seu ventre? Mas ainda que esta se esquecesse dele, contudo eu não me esquecerei de ti.
16 Behold, I haue grauen thee vpon the palme of mine hands: thy walles are euer in my sight.
16 Eis que nas palmas das minhas mãos eu te gravei; os teus muros estão continuamente diante de mim.
17 Thy builders make haste: thy destroiers and they that made thee waste, are departed from thee.
17 Os teus filhos pressurosamente virão, mas os teus destruidores e os teus assoladores sairão do meio de ti.
18 Lift vp thine eies round about and behold: all these gather themselues together and come to thee: as I liue, sayeth the Lord, thou shalt surely put them all vpon thee as a garment, and girde thy selfe with them like a bride.
18 Levanta os teus olhos ao redor, e olha; todos estes que se ajuntam vêm a ti; vivo eu, diz o Senhor, que de todos estes te vestirás, como de um ornamento, e te cingirás deles como noiva.
19 For thy desolations, and thy waste places, and thy land destroied, shall surely be now narow for them that shall dwell in it, and they that did deuoure thee, shalbe farre away.
19 Porque nos teus desertos, e nos teus lugares solitários, e na tua terra destruída, agora te verás apertada de moradores, e os que te devoravam se afastarão para longe de ti.
20 The children of thy barennesse shall say againe in thine eares, The place is straict for mee: giue place to me that I may dwell.
20 E até mesmo os filhos da tua orfandade dirão aos teus ouvidos: Muito estreito é para mim este lugar; aparta-te de mim, para que possa habitar nele.
21 Then shalt thou say in thine heart, Who hath begotten mee these, seeing I am baren and desolate, a captiue and a wanderer to and from? and who hath nourished them? beholde, I was left alone: whence are these?
21 E dirás no teu coração: Quem me gerou estes? Pois eu estava desfilhada e solitária; entrara em cativeiro, e me retirara; quem, pois, me criou estes? Eis que eu fui deixada sozinha; e estes onde estavam?
22 Thus sayeth the Lord God, Beholde, I will lift vp mine hande to the Gentiles and set vp my stadart to the people, and they shall bring thy sonnes in their armes: and thy daughters shall be caried vpon their shoulders.
22 Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Eis que levantarei a minha mão para os gentios, e ante os povos arvorarei a minha bandeira; então trarão os teus filhos nos braços, e as tuas filhas serão levadas sobre os ombros.
23 And Kings shalbe thy nourcing fathers, and Queenes shalbe thy nources: they shall worship thee with their faces towarde the earth, and licke vp the dust of thy feete: and thou shalt knowe that I am the Lord: for they shall not be ashamed that waite for me.
23 E os reis serão os teus aios, e as suas rainhas as tuas amas; diante de ti se inclinarão com o rosto em terra, e lamberão o pó dos teus pés; e saberás que eu sou o Senhor, que os que confiam em mim não serão confundidos.
24 Shall the pray be taken from the mightie? or the iust captiuitie deliuered?
24 Porventura tirar-se-ia a presa ao poderoso, ou escapariam os legalmente presos?
25 But thus sayeth the Lord, euen the captiuitie of the mightie shall be taken away: and the pray of the tyrant shall be deliuered: for I wil contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will saue thy children,
25 Mas assim diz o Senhor: Por certo que os presos se tirarão ao poderoso, e a presa do tirano escapará; porque eu contenderei com os que contendem contigo, e os teus filhos eu remirei.
26 And will feede them that spoile thee, with their owne flesh, and they shall be drunken with their owne bloode, as with sweete wine: and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy sauiour and thy redeemer, the mighty one of Iaakob.
26 E sustentarei os teus opressores com a sua própria carne, e com o seu próprio sangue se embriagarão, como com mosto; e toda a carne saberá que eu sou o Senhor, o teu Salvador, e o teu Redentor, o Forte de Jacó.
