1 Bel is bowed downe: Nebo is fallen: their idoles were vpon the beastes, and vpon the cattell: they which did beare you, were laden with a wearie burden.
1 Bel se inclina, Nebo se abaixa; os seus ídolos são levados por animais de carga. As imagens que são levadas por aí, são pesadas, um fardo para os exaustos.
2 They are bowed downe, and fallen together: for they coulde not rid them of the burden, and their soule is gone into captiuitie.
2 Juntos eles se abaixam e se inclinam; incapazes de salvar o fardo, eles mesmos vão para o cativeiro.
3 Heare ye me, O house of Iaakob, and all that remaine of the house of Israel, which are borne of me from the wombe, and brought vp of me from the birth.
3 "Escute-me, ó casa de Jacó, todos vocês que restam da nação de Israel, vocês a quem tenho sustentado desde que foram concebidos, e que tenho carregado desde o seu nascimento.
4 Therefore vnto olde age, I the same, euen I will beare you vntill the hoare heares: I haue made you: I will also beare you, and I will cary you and I will deliuer you.
4 Mesmo na sua velhice, quando tiverem cabelos brancos, sou eu aquele, aquele que os susterá. Eu os fiz e eu os levarei; eu os susterei e eu os salvarei.
5 To whom will ye make me like or make me equall, or copare me, that I should be like him?
5 "Com quem vocês me compararão ou a quem me considerarão igual? Com quem vocês me assemelharão para que sejamos comparados?
6 They draw gold out of the bagge and weigh siluer in the balance, and hire a goldsmith to make a god of it, and they bowe downe, and worship it.
6 Alguns derramam ouro de suas bolsas e pesam prata na balança; contratam um ourives para transformá-lo num deus, inclinam-se e o adoram.
7 They beare it vpon the shoulders: they carie him and set him in his place: so doeth he stand, and cannot remoue from his place. Though one crie vnto him, yet can he not answere, nor deliuer him out of his tribulation.
7 Erguem-no ao ombro e o carregam; põem-no de pé em seu local, e ali ele fica. Daquele local não consegue se mexer. Embora alguém o invoque, ele não responde; é incapaz de salvá-lo de seus problemas.
8 Remember this, and be ashamed: bring it againe to minde, O you transgressers.
8 "Lembrem-se disto, gravem-no na mente, acolham no íntimo, ó rebeldes.
9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none other God, and there is nothing like me,
9 Lembrem-se das coisas passadas, das coisas muito antigas! Eu sou Deus, e não há nenhum outro; eu sou Deus, e não há nenhum como eu.
10 Which declare the last thing from the beginning: and from of olde, the things that were not done, saying, My counsell shall stand, and I will doe whatsoeuer I will.
10 Desde o início faço conhecido o fim, desde tempos remotos, o que ainda virá. Digo: Meu propósito ficará de pé, e farei tudo o que me agrada.
11 I call a birde from the East, and the man of my counsell from farre: as I haue spoken, so will I bring it to passe: I haue purposed it, and I will doe it.
11 Do oriente convoco uma ave de rapina; de uma terra bem distante, um homem para cumprir o meu propósito. O que eu disse, isso eu farei acontecer; o que planejei, isso farei.
12 Heare me, ye stubburne hearted, that are farre from iustice.
12 Escutem-me, vocês de coração obstinado, vocês que estão longe da retidão.
13 I bring neere my iustice: it shall not be farre off, and my saluation shall not tarie: for I wil giue saluation in Zion, and my glory vnto Israel.
13 Estou trazendo para perto a minha retidão, ela não está distante; e a minha salvação não será adiada. Concederei salvação a Sião, meu esplendor a Israel.
