1 At the same time, Merodach Baladan, the sonne of Baladan, King of Babel, sent letters, and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had bene sicke, and was recouered.
1 Naquele tempo, enviou Merodaque-Baladã, filho de Baladã, rei da Babilônia, cartas e um presente a Ezequias, porque tinha ouvido dizer que havia estado doente e que já tinha convalescido.
2 And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of the treasures, the siluer, and the golde, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was founde in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his kingdome that Hezekiah shewed them not.
2 E Ezequias se alegrou com eles e lhes mostrou a casa do seu tesouro, e a prata, e o ouro, e as especiarias, e os melhores unguentos, e toda a sua casa de armas, e tudo quanto se achava nos seus tesouros; coisa nenhuma houve, nem em sua casa, nem em todo o seu domínio, que Ezequias lhes não mostrasse.
3 Then came Isaiah the Prophet vnto King Hezekiah, and said vnto him, What said these men? and from whence came they to thee? And Hezekiah saide, They are come from a farre countrey vnto me, from Babel.
3 Então, o profeta Isaías veio ao rei Ezequias e lhe disse: Que foi que aqueles homens disseram e donde vieram a ti? E disse Ezequias: De uma terra remota vieram a mim, da Babilônia.
4 Then saide he, What haue they seene in thine house? And Hezekiah answered, All that is in mine house haue they seene: there is nothing among my treasures, that I haue not shewed them.
4 E disse ele: Que foi que viram em tua casa? E disse Ezequias: Viram tudo quanto há em minha casa; coisa nenhuma há nos meus tesouros que eu deixasse de lhes mostrar.
5 And Isaiah saide to Hezekiah, Heare the worde of the Lord of hostes,
5 Então, disse Isaías a Ezequias: Ouve a palavra do Senhor dos Exércitos:
6 Beholde, the dayes come, that all that is in thine house, and which thy fathers haue layed vp in store vntill this day, shall be caried to Babel: nothing shall be left, sayeth the Lord.
6 Eis que virão dias em que tudo quanto houver em tua casa, com o que entesouraram teus pais até ao dia de hoje, será levado para a Babilônia; não ficará coisa alguma, disse o Senhor .
7 And of thy sonnes, that shall proceede out of thee, and which thou shalt beget, shall they take away, and they shall be eunuches in the palace of the King of Babel.
7 E dos teus filhos, que procederem de ti e tu gerares, tomarão, para que sejam eunucos no palácio do rei da Babilônia.
8 Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, The worde of the Lord is good, which thou hast spoken: and he saide, Yet let there be peace, and trueth in my dayes.
8 Então, disse Ezequias a Isaías: Boa é a palavra do Senhor que disseste. Disse mais: Porque haverá paz e verdade em meus dias.
