1 The burden of Moab. Surely Ar of Moab was destroied, and brought to silece in a night: surely Kir of Moab was destroied, and brought to silence in a night.
1 Advertência contra Moabe: Sim, na noite em que foi destruída, Ar, em Moabe, ficou arruinada! E na noite em que foi destruída, Quir, em Moabe, ficou arruinada!
2 He shall goe vp to the temple, and to Dibon to the hie places to weepe: for Nebo and for Medeba shall Moab howle: vpon all their heades shalbe baldnesse, and euery beard shauen.
2 Sobe-se ao templo em Dibom, a seus altares idólatras, para chorar; Por causa de Nebo e de Medeba Moabe pranteia. Todas as cabeças estão rapadas e toda barba foi cortada.
3 In their streetes shall they bee gilded with sackecloth: on the toppes of their houses, and in their streetes euery one shall howle, and come downe with weeping.
3 Nas ruas andam vestidos de roupas de lamento; nos terraços e nas praças públicas todos pranteiam e se prostram chorando.
4 And Heshbon shall crie, and Elealeh: their voyce shall bee heard vnto Iahaz: therefore the warriers of Moab shall showt: the soule of euery one shall lament in him selfe.
4 Hesbom e Eleale clamam; até Jaaz as suas vozes são ouvidas. Por isso os homens armados de Moabe gritam, e o coração deles treme.
5 Mine heart shall crie for Moab: his fugitiues shall flee vnto Zoar, an heiffer of three yere olde: for they shall goe vp with weeping by the mounting vp of Luhith: and by the way of Horonaim they shall raise vp a crie of destruction.
5 O meu coração clama por causa de Moabe! Os seus fugitivos vão até Zoar, até Eglate-Selisia. Sobem pelo caminho de Luíte, caminhando e chorando. Pela estrada de Horonaim levantam clamor em face da destruição,
6 For the waters of Nimrim shall be dried vp: therefore the grasse is withered, the herbes consumed, and there was no greene herbe.
6 porque as águas de Ninrim secaram-se, a pastagem secou-se e a vegetação morreu; todo o verde desapareceu!
7 Therefore what euery man hath left, and their substance shall they beare to the brooke of the willowes.
7 Por isso, a riqueza que adquiriram e armazenaram eles levam para além do riacho dos Salgueiros.
8 For the crie went round about the borders of Moab: and the howling thereof vnto Eglaim, and the skriking thereof vnto Beer Elim,
8 Com efeito, seu clamor espalha-se por todo o território de Moabe; sua lamentação até Eglaim, até Beer-Elim.
9 Because the waters of Dimon shall be full of blood: for I will bring more vpon Dimon, euen lyons vpon him that escapeth of Moab, and to the remnant of the land.
9 Ainda que as águas de Dimom estejam cheias de sangue, trarei mais mal sobre Dimom; um leão sobre os fugitivos de Moabe e sobre aqueles que permanecem na terra.
