1 But there shall come a rodde foorth of the stocke of Ishai, and a grasse shall growe out of his rootes.
1 Virá um descendente do rei Davi, filho de Jessé, que será como um ramo que brota de um toco, como um broto que surge das raízes.
2 And the Spirite of the Lord shall rest vpon him: the Spirite of wisedome and vnderstanding, the Spirite of counsell and strength, the Spirite of knowledge, and of the feare of the Lord,
2 O Espírito do Senhor estará sobre ele e lhe dará sabedoria e conhecimento, capacidade e poder. Ele conhecerá a sua vontade
3 And shall make him prudent in the feare of the Lord: for he shall not iudge after the sight of his eies, neither reproue by ye hearing of his eares.
3 e terá prazer em obedecer-lhe. Ele não julgará pela aparência, nem decidirá somente por ouvir dizer.
4 But with righteousnesse shall he iudge the poore, and with equitie shall he reprooue for the meeke of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lippes shall he slay the wicked.
4 Mas com justiça julgará os necessitados e defenderá os direitos dos pobres. As suas palavras serão como uma vara para castigar o país, e com o seu sopro ele matará os maus.
5 And iustice shall be ye girdle of his loynes, and faithfulnesse the girdle of his reines.
5 Com justiça e com honestidade, ele governará o seu povo.
6 The wolfe also shall dwell with the lambe, and the leopard shall lie with the kid, and the calfe, and the lyon, and the fat beast together, and a litle childe shall leade them.
6 Lobos e ovelhas viverão em paz, leopardos e cabritinhos descansarão juntos. Bezerros e leões comerão uns com os outros, e crianças pequenas os guiarão.
7 And the kow and the beare shall feede: their yong ones shall lie together: and the lyon shall eate strawe like the bullocke.
7 Vacas e ursas pastarão juntas, e os seus filhotes descansarão no mesmo lugar; os leões comerão capim como os bois.
8 And the sucking childe shall play vpon the hole of the aspe, and the wained childe shall put his hand vpon the cockatrice hole.
8 Criancinhas brincarão perto de cobras e não serão picadas, mesmo que enfiem a mão nas suas covas.
9 Then shall none hurt nor destroy in all the mountaine of mine holines: for the earth shalbe full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters that couer the sea.
9 Em Sião , o monte sagrado, não acontecerá nada de mau ou perigoso, pois a terra ficará cheia do conhecimento da assim como as águas enchem o mar.
10 And in that day the roote of Ishai, which shall stand vp for a signe vnto the people, the nations shall seeke vnto it, and his rest shall be glorious.
10 Naquele dia, o descendente de Davi, filho de Jessé, será como uma bandeira para as nações. Os povos passarão para o lado dele, e da cidade onde ele reina brilhará a glória de Deus.
11 And in the same day shall the Lord stretche out his hand againe the second time, to possesse the remnant of his people, (which shalbe left) of Asshur, and of Egypt, and of Pathros, and of Ethiopia, and of Elam, and of Shinear, and of Hamath, and of the yles of the sea.
11 Naquele dia, o Senhor, com a sua mão poderosa, trará de volta para a sua terra as pessoas do seu povo que ainda estiverem na Assíria, no Egito, em Patros, na Etiópia, em Elão, na Babilônia, em Hamate, no litoral do mar Mediterrâneo e nas ilhas.
12 And he shall set vp a signe to the nations, and assemble the dispersed of Israel, and gather the scattered of Iudah from the foure corners of the worlde.
12 Deus levantará uma bandeira como um sinal para ajuntar os povos de Israel e de Judá que estiverem espalhados pelos quatro cantos do mundo; ele os trará de volta para a sua terra.
13 The hatred also of Ephraim shall depart, and the aduersaries of Iudah shalbe cut off: Ephraim shall not enuie Iudah, neither shall Iudah vexe Ephraim:
13 O povo de Israel não terá mais ciúmes do povo de Judá, e o povo de Judá não será mais inimigo do povo de Israel.
14 But they shall flee vpon the shoulders of the Philistims toward the West: they shall spoyle them of the East together: Edom and Moab shall be the stretching out of their hands, and the children of Ammon in their obedience.
14 Os dois povos atacarão juntos a Filisteia, que fica a oeste; eles conquistarão os povos que moram no Leste e ficarão com as suas riquezas. Derrotarão os edomitas, os moabitas e os amonitas.
15 The Lord also shall vtterly destroy the tongue of the Egyptians sea, and with his mightie winde shall lift vp his hand ouer the riuer, and shall smite him in his seuen streames, and cause men to walke therein with shooes.
15 O Senhor Deus secará o golfo de Suez e enviará um forte vento contra o rio Eufrates. Deixará que sobrem somente sete ribeirões que qualquer um poderá atravessar a pé.
16 And there shalbe a path to the remnant of his people, which are left of Asshur, like as it was vnto Israel in the day that he came vp out of the land of Egypt.
16 Assim como houve uma estrada para os israelitas que saíram do Egito, também haverá uma estrada boa saindo da Assíria, e por ela passarão as pessoas do meu povo que estiverem vivas.
