1 Then God sayde to Iaakob, Arise, goe vp to Beth-el and dwell there, and make there an altar vnto God, that appeared vnto thee, when thou fleddest from Esau thy brother.
1 Depois disse Deus a Jacó: Levanta-te, sobe a Betel, e habita ali; e faze ali um altar ao Deus que te apareceu, quando fugiste da face de Esaú teu irmão.
2 Then saide Iaakob vnto his houshold and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and clense your selues, and change your garments:
2 Então disse Jacó à sua família, e a todos os que com ele estavam: Tirai os deuses estranhos, que há no meio de vós, e purificai-vos, e mudai as vossas vestes.
3 For we will rise and goe vp to Beth-el, and I will make an altar there vnto God, which heard me in the day of my tribulation, and was with me in the way which I went.
3 E levantemo-nos, e subamos a Betel; e ali farei um altar ao Deus que me respondeu no dia da minha angústia, e que foi comigo no caminho que tenho andado.
4 And they gaue vnto Iaakob all the strange gods, which were in their hands, and all their earings which were in their eares, and Iaakob hidde them vnder an oke, which was by Shechem.
4 Então deram a Jacó todos os deuses estranhos, que tinham em suas mãos, e as arrecadas que estavam em suas orelhas; e Jacó os escondeu debaixo do carvalho que está junto a Siquém.
5 Then they went on their iourney, and the feare of God was vpon the cities that were roud about them: so that they did not follow after the sonnes of Iaakob.
5 E partiram; e o terror de Deus foi sobre as cidades que estavam ao redor deles, e não seguiram após os filhos de Jacó.
6 So came Iaakob to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan: (the same is Beth-el) hee and all the people that was with him.
6 Assim chegou Jacó a Luz, que está na terra de Canaã (esta é Betel), ele e todo o povo que com ele havia.
7 And he built there an altar, and had called the place, The God of Beth-el, because that God appeared vnto him there, when he fled from his brother.
7 E edificou ali um altar, e chamou aquele lugar El-Betel; porquanto Deus ali se lhe tinha manifestado, quando fugia da face de seu irmão.
8 Then Deborah Rebekahs nourse dyed, and was buried beneath Beth-el vnder an oke: and he called the name of it Allon Bachuth.
8 E morreu Débora, a ama de Rebeca, e foi sepultada ao pé de Betel, debaixo do carvalho cujo nome chamou Alom-Bacute.
9 Againe God appeared vnto Iaakob, after he came out of Padan Aram, and blessed him.
9 E apareceu Deus outra vez a Jacó, vindo de Padã-Arã, e abençoou-o.
10 Moreouer God said vnto him, Thy name is Iaakob: thy name shalbe no more called Iaakob, but Israel shalbe thy name: and hee called his name Israel.
10 E disse-lhe Deus: O teu nome é Jacó; não te chamarás mais Jacó, mas Israel será o teu nome. E chamou-lhe Israel.
11 Againe God said vnto him, I am God all sufficient. growe, and multiplie. a nation and a multitude of nations shall spring of thee, and Kings shall come out of thy loynes.
11 Disse-lhe mais Deus: Eu sou o Deus Todo-Poderoso; frutifica e multiplica-te; uma nação, sim, uma multidão de nações sairá de ti, e reis procederão dos teus lombos;
12 Also I will giue the lande, which I gaue to Abraham and Izhak, vnto thee: and vnto thy seede after thee will I giue that land.
12 E te darei a ti a terra que tenho dado a Abraão e a Isaque, e à tua descendência depois de ti darei a terra.
13 So God ascended from him in the place where he had talked with him.
13 E Deus subiu dele, do lugar onde falara com ele.
14 And Iaakob set vp a pillar in the place where he talked with him, a pillar of stone, and powred drinke offring thereon: also hee powred oyle thereon.
14 E Jacó pôs uma coluna no lugar onde falara com ele, uma coluna de pedra; e derramou sobre ela uma libação, e deitou sobre ela azeite.
15 And Iaakob called the name of the place, where God spake with him, Beth-el.
15 E chamou Jacó aquele lugar, onde Deus falara com ele, Betel.
16 Then they departed from Beth-el, and when there was about halfe a daies iourney of ground to come to Ephrath, Rahel trauailed, and in trauailing she was in perill.
16 E partiram de Betel; e havia ainda um pequeno espaço de terra para chegar a Efrata, e deu à luz Raquel, e ela teve trabalho em seu parto.
17 And whe she was in paines of her labour, the midwife saide vnto her, Feare not: for thou shalt haue this sonne also.
17 E aconteceu que, tendo ela trabalho em seu parto, lhe disse a parteira: Não temas, porque também este filho terás.
18 Then as she was about to yeelde vp the Ghost (for she died) she called his name Ben-oni, but his father called him Beniamin.
18 E aconteceu que, saindo-se-lhe a alma (porque morreu), chamou-lhe Benoni; mas seu pai chamou-lhe Benjamim.
19 Thus died Rahel, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Beth-lehem.
19 Assim morreu Raquel, e foi sepultada no caminho de Efrata; que é Belém.
20 And Iaakob set a pillar vpon her graue: This is the pillar of Rahels graue vnto this day.
20 E Jacó pôs uma coluna sobre a sua sepultura; esta é a coluna da sepultura de Raquel até o dia de hoje.
21 Then Israel went forwarde, and pitched his tent beyond Migdal-eder.
21 Então partiu Israel, e estendeu a sua tenda além de Migdal Eder.
22 Now, when Israel dwelt in that land, Reuben went, and lay with Bilhah his fathers concubine, and it came to Israels eare. And Iaakob had twelue sonnes.
22 E aconteceu que, habitando Israel naquela terra, foi Rúben e deitou-se com Bila, concubina de seu pai; e Israel o soube. E eram doze os filhos de Jacó.
23 The sonnes of Leah: Reuben Iaakobs eldest sonne, and Simeon, and Leui, and Iudah, and Issachar, and Zebulun.
23 Os filhos de Lia: Rúben, o primogênito de Jacó, depois Simeão e Levi, e Judá, e Issacar e Zebulom;
24 The sonnes of Rahel: Ioseph and Beniamin.
24 Os filhos de Raquel: José e Benjamim;
25 And the sonnes of Bilhah Rahels maide: Dan and Naphtali.
25 E os filhos de Bila, serva de Raquel: Dã e Naftali;
26 And the sonnes of Zilpah Leahs maide: Gad and Asher. These are the sonnes of Iaakob, which were borne him in Padan Aram.
26 E os filhos de Zilpa, serva de Lia: Gade e Aser. Estes são os filhos de Jacó, que lhe nasceram em Padã-Arã.
27 Then Iaakob came vnto Izhak his father to Mamre a citie of Arbah: this is Hebron, where Abraham and Izhak were strangers.
27 E Jacó veio a seu pai Isaque, a Manre, a Quiriate-Arba (que é Hebrom), onde peregrinaram Abraão e Isaque.
28 And the daies of Izhak were an hundreth and fourescore yeeres.
28 E foram os dias de Isaque cento e oitenta anos.
29 And Izhak gaue vp the ghost and died, and was gathered vnto his people, being olde and full of daies: and his sonnes Esau and Iaakob buried him.
29 E Isaque expirou, e morreu, e foi recolhido ao seu povo, velho e farto de dias; e Esaú e Jacó, seus filhos, o sepultaram.
