1 And when Rahel saw that she bare Iaakob no children, Rahel enuied her sister, and said vnto Iaakob, Giue me children, or els I dye.
1 Quando Raquel percebeu que não podia ter filhos, ficou com inveja da sua irmã Leia e disse ao marido: — Dê-me filhos; se não, eu morro!
2 Then Iaakobs anger was kindled against Rahel, and he sayde, Am I in Gods steade, which hath withholden from thee the fruite of the wombe?
2 Jacó ficou zangado com Raquel e disse: — Você está pensando que eu sou Deus? É ele quem não deixa você ter filhos.
3 And she said, Behold my maide Bilhah, goe in to her, and she shall beare vpon my knees, and I shall haue children also by her.
3 Então Raquel disse: — Aqui está a minha escrava Bila; tenha relações com ela. Quando ela tiver um filho, será como se fosse meu. Desse modo eu serei mãe por meio dela .
4 Then shee gaue him Bilhah her mayde to wife, and Iaakob went in to her.
4 Assim, Raquel deu a Jacó a sua escrava Bila para ser sua concubina , e ele teve relações com ela.
5 So Bilhah conceiued and bare Iaakob a sonne.
5 Bila ficou grávida e deu a Jacó um filho.
6 Then said Rahel, God hath giuen sentence on my side, and hath also heard my voyce, and hath giuen mee a sonne: therefore called shee his name, Dan.
6 Então Raquel disse: — Este menino vai se chamar Dã porque Deus foi justo comigo. Ele ouviu a minha oração e me deu um filho.
7 And Bilhah Rahels maide coceiued againe, and bare Iaakob the second sonne.
7 Bila ficou grávida outra vez e deu a Jacó outro filho.
8 Then Rahel said, with excellent wrestlings haue I wrestled with my sister, and haue gotten the vpper hande: and shee called his name, Naphtali.
8 Aí Raquel disse: — O nome deste menino será Naftali porque lutei muito contra minha irmã e venci.
9 And when Leah saw that she had left bearing, shee tooke Zilpah her mayde, and gaue her Iaakob to wife.
9 Quando Leia percebeu que não ia ter mais filhos, deu a sua escrava Zilpa a Jacó para ser sua concubina.
10 And Zilpah Leahs mayde bare Iaakob a sonne.
10 E Zilpa deu a Jacó um filho.
11 Then sayd Leah, A companie commeth: and she called his name, Gad.
11 Então Leia disse: — Que sorte! Este menino vai se chamar Gade .
12 Againe Zilpah Leahs mayde bare Iaakob another sonne.
12 Depois Zilpa deu a Jacó outro filho,
13 Then sayde Leah, Ah, blessed am I, for the daughters will blesse me. and she called his name, Asher.
13 e Leia disse: — Como sou feliz! Agora as mulheres dirão que sou feliz. Por isso o menino se chamará Aser .
14 Nowe Reuben went in the dayes of the wheateharuest, and founde mandrakes in the fielde and brought them vnto his mother Leah. Then sayde Rahel to Leah, Giue me, I pray thee, of thy sonnes mandrakes.
14 Um dia, no tempo da colheita do trigo, Rúben foi ao campo. Ali achou umas mandrágoras e as levou para Leia, a sua mãe. Quando Raquel viu isso, disse a Leia: — Por favor, dê-me algumas das mandrágoras que o seu filho trouxe.
15 But shee answered her, Is it a small matter for thee to take mine husband, except thou take my sonnes mandrakes also? Then sayde Rahel, Therefore he shall sleepe with thee this night for thy sonnes mandrakes.
15 Leia respondeu: — Será que você acha que tomar o meu marido de mim ainda é pouco? Agora vai querer tomar também as mandrágoras que o meu filho me deu? Aí Raquel disse: — Vamos fazer uma troca: você me dá as mandrágoras, e eu deixo que você durma com Jacó esta noite.
16 And Iaakob came from the fielde in the euening, and Leah went out to meete him, and sayde, Come in to mee, for I haue bought and payed for thee with my sonnes mandrakes: and he slept with her that night.
16 De tardinha, quando Jacó chegou do campo, Leia foi encontrar-se com ele e disse: — Esta noite você vai dormir comigo porque eu paguei para isso com as mandrágoras que o meu filho achou. Naquela noite Jacó teve relações com ela.
17 And God heard Leah and shee conceiued, and bare vnto Iaakob the fift sonne.
17 Deus ouviu a oração de Leia, e ela ficou grávida e deu a Jacó um quinto filho.
18 Then said Leah, God hath giuen me my reward, because I gaue my mayde to my husband, and she called his name Issachar.
18 Então Leia disse: — Este menino se chamará Issacar , pois Deus me recompensou por ter dado a minha escrava ao meu marido.
19 After, Leah conceiued againe, and bare Iaakob the sixt sonne.
19 Depois Leia engravidou pela sexta vez e deu a Jacó mais um filho.
20 Then Leah said, God hath endued me with a good dowrie: nowe will mine husband dwell with me, because I haue borne him sixe sonnes: and she called his name Zebulun.
20 E disse: — Deus me deu um belo presente. Agora o meu marido vai ficar comigo porque lhe dei seis filhos. Por isso ela pôs nele o nome de Zebulom .
21 After that, shee bare a daughter, and shee called her name Dinah.
21 Por último Leia teve uma filha e lhe deu o nome de Dina.
22 And God remembred Rahel, and God heard her, and opened her wombe.
22 Então Deus lembrou de Raquel. Ele ouviu a sua oração e fez com que ela pudesse ter filhos.
23 So she conceiued and bare a sonne, and said, God hath taken away my rebuke.
23 Ela engravidou e deu à luz um filho. Então disse: — Deus não deixou que eu continuasse envergonhada por não ter filhos.
24 And shee called his name Ioseph, saying, The Lord wil giue me yet another sonne.
24 Que o Senhor Deus me dê mais um filho. Por isso ela pôs nele o nome de José .
25 And assoone as Rahel had borne Ioseph, Iaakob said to Laban, Sende me away that I may go vnto my place and to my countrey.
25 Depois do nascimento de José, Jacó disse a Labão: — Deixe-me voltar para a minha terra.
26 Giue me my wiues and my children, for whom I haue serued thee, and let me go: for thou knowest what seruice I haue done thee.
26 Dê-me os meus filhos e as minhas mulheres, que eu ganhei trabalhando para o senhor, e eu irei embora. O senhor sabe muito bem quanto eu o tenho servido.
27 To whom Laban answered, If I haue nowe found fauour in thy sight tarie: I haue perceiued that the Lord hath blessed me for thy sake.
27 Labão respondeu: — Fique comigo, por favor, pois por meio de adivinhações fiquei sabendo que o
28 Also he said, Appoynt vnto me thy wages, and I will giue it thee.
28 Diga quanto quer ganhar, que eu pagarei.
29 But he sayd vnto him, Thou knowest, what seruice I haue done thee, and in what taking thy cattell hath bene vnder me.
29 Então Jacó disse: — O senhor sabe como tenho trabalhado e como tenho cuidado dos seus animais.
30 For the litle, that thou haddest before I came, is increased into a multitude: and the Lord hath blessed thee by my comming: but nowe when shall I trauell for mine owne house also?
30 Antes de eu chegar, o senhor tinha pouco, mas depois tudo aumentou muito. E Deus tem abençoado o senhor em todos os lugares por onde eu tenho andado. Mas agora preciso cuidar da minha própria família.
31 Then he saide, What shall I giue thee? And Iaakob answered, Thou shalt giue mee nothing at all: if thou wilt doe this thing for mee, I will returne, feede, and keepe thy sheepe.
31 — Quanto você quer que eu lhe pague? — insistiu Labão. Jacó respondeu: — Não quero salário. Eu continuarei a cuidar das suas ovelhas se o senhor concordar com a proposta que vou fazer.
32 I wil passe through all thy flockes this day, and separate from them all the sheepe with litle spots and great spots, and al blacke lambes among the sheepe, and the great spotted, and litle spotted among the goates: and it shalbe my wages.
32 Hoje vou passar por todo o seu rebanho a fim de separar para mim todos os carneirinhos pretos e todos os cabritos malhados e com manchas. É só isso que eu quero como salário.
33 So shall my righteousnesse answere for me hereafter, when it shall come for my rewarde before thy face, and euery one that hath not litle or great spots among the goates, and blacke among the sheepe, the same shalbe theft with me.
33 No futuro será fácil o senhor saber se eu tenho sido honesto. Na hora de conferir o meu salário, se houver no meu rebanho carneirinhos que não sejam pretos e cabritos que não sejam malhados ou não tenham manchas, o senhor saberá que fui eu que roubei.
34 Then Laban sayde, Goe to, woulde God it might be according to thy saying.
34 Labão concordou, dizendo: — Está bem. Aceito a sua proposta.
35 Therefore he tooke out the same day the hee goates that were partie coloured and with great spots, and all the shee goates with litle and great spots, and all that had white in them, and all the blacke among the sheepe, and put them in the keeping of his sonnes.
35 Mas naquele mesmo dia Labão separou para si todos os cabritos que tinham listas ou manchas, todas as cabras malhadas e as manchadas ou que tinham algum branco e todos os carneirinhos pretos. Ele os entregou aos seus filhos para cuidarem deles
36 And hee set three dayes iourney betweene himselfe and Iaakob. And Iaakob kept the rest of Labans sheepe.
36 e se afastou de Jacó a uma distância de três dias de viagem. E Jacó ficou cuidando dos outros animais de Labão.
37 Then Iaakob tooke rods of greene popular, and of hasell, and of the chesnut tree, and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appeare in the rods.
37 Então Jacó pegou galhos verdes de choupo, de amendoeira e de plátano e descascou-os, fazendo aparecer listas brancas.
38 Then he put the rods, which he had pilled, in the gutters and watering troughes, when the sheepe came to drink, before the sheepe. (for they were in heate, when they came to drinke)
38 Ele pôs esses galhos na frente dos animais, nos bebedouros onde iam beber. Ele fez isso porque eles cruzavam quando iam beber.
39 And the sheepe were in heate before the rods, and afterward brought forth yong of partie colour, and with small and great spots.
39 E, como cruzavam diante dos galhos, as ovelhas davam crias listadas, com manchas e malhadas.
40 And Iaakob parted these lambes, and turned the faces of the flocke towardes these lambes partie coloured and all maner of blacke, among the sheepe of Laban: so hee put his owne flockes by themselues, and put them not with Labans flocke.
40 Jacó separou as ovelhas dos bodes e fez com que olhassem na direção dos animais listados e dos animais pretos do rebanho de Labão. Assim, Jacó foi formando o seu próprio rebanho, separando-o dos animais de Labão.
41 And in euery ramming time of the stronger sheepe, Iaakob layde the rods before the eyes of the sheepe in the gutters, that they might conceiue before the rods.
41 Quando os animais fortes estavam cruzando, Jacó punha os galhos das árvores na frente deles nos bebedouros, e assim eles cruzavam perto dos galhos.
42 But when the sheepe were feeble, hee put them not in: and so the feebler were Labans, and the stronger Iaakobs.
42 Mas na frente dos animais fracos Jacó não punha os galhos. Por isso os animais fracos ficavam para Labão, e os mais fortes ficavam para Jacó.
43 So the man increased exceedingly, and had many flockes, and maide seruantes, and men seruants, and camels and asses.
43 Desse modo ele ficou muito rico e chegou a ter muitas ovelhas e cabras, escravos, escravas, camelos e jumentos.
