1 Then Izhak called Iaakob and blessed him, and charged him, and sayde vnto him, Take not a wife of the daughters of Canaan.
1 Isaque chamou a Jacó e, dando-lhe a sua bênção, lhe ordenou, dizendo: Não tomarás esposa dentre as filhas de Canaã.
2 Arise, get thee to Padan Aram to the house of Bethuel thy mothers father, and thence take thee a wife of the daughters of Laban thy mothers brother.
2 Levanta-te, vai a Padã-Arã, à casa de Betuel, pai de tua mãe, e toma lá por esposa uma das filhas de Labão, irmão de tua mãe.
3 And God all sufficient blesse thee, and make thee to encrease, and multiplie thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people,
3 Deus Todo-Poderoso te abençoe, e te faça fecundo, e te multiplique para que venhas a ser uma multidão de povos;
4 And giue thee the blessing of Abraham, euen to thee and to thy seede with thee, that thou mayest inherite the lande (wherein thou art a stranger,) which God gaue vnto Abraham.
4 e te dê a bênção de Abraão, a ti e à tua descendência contigo, para que possuas a terra de tuas peregrinações, concedida por Deus a Abraão.
5 Thus Izhak sent forth Iaakob, and he went to Padan Aram vnto Laban sonne of Bethuel the Aramite, brother to Rebekah, Iaakobs and Esaus mother.
5 Assim, despediu Isaque a Jacó, que se foi a Padã-Arã, à casa de Labão, filho de Betuel, o arameu, irmão de Rebeca, mãe de Jacó e de Esaú.
6 When Esau sawe that Izhak had blessed Iaakob, and sent him to Padan Aram, to set him a wife thence, and giuen him a charge when he blessed him, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan,
6 Vendo, pois, Esaú que Isaque abençoara a Jacó e o enviara a Padã-Arã, para tomar de lá esposa para si; e vendo que, ao abençoá-lo, lhe ordenara, dizendo: Não tomarás mulher dentre as filhas de Canaã;
7 And that Iaakob had obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Padan Aram:
7 e vendo, ainda, que Jacó, obedecendo a seu pai e a sua mãe, fora a Padã-Arã;
8 Also Esau seeing that the daughters of Canaan displeased Izhak his father,
8 sabedor também de que Isaque, seu pai, não via com bons olhos as filhas de Canaã,
9 Then went Esau to Ishmael, and tooke vnto the wiues, which he had, Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abrahams sonne, the sister of Nabaioth, to be his wife.
9 foi Esaú à casa de Ismael e, além das mulheres que já possuía, tomou por mulher a Maalate, filha de Ismael, filho de Abraão, e irmã de Nebaiote.
10 Now Iaakob departed from Beer-sheba, and went to Haran,
10 Partiu Jacó de Berseba e seguiu para Harã.
11 And he came vnto a certaine place, and taried there al night, because the sunne was downe, and tooke of the stones of the place, and layde vnder his head and slept in the same place.
11 Tendo chegado a certo lugar, ali passou a noite, pois já era sol-posto; tomou uma das pedras do lugar, fê-la seu travesseiro e se deitou ali mesmo para dormir.
12 Then he dreamed, and behold, there stoode a ladder vpon the earth, and the top of it reached vp to heauen: and loe, the Angels of God went vp and downe by it.
12 E sonhou: Eis posta na terra uma escada cujo topo atingia o céu; e os anjos de Deus subiam e desciam por ela.
13 And behold, the Lord stoode aboue it, and sayd, I am the Lord God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Izhak: the land, vpon the which thou sleepest, wil I giue thee and thy seede.
13 Perto dele estava o Senhor e lhe disse: Eu sou o Senhor , Deus de Abraão, teu pai, e Deus de Isaque. A terra em que agora estás deitado, eu ta darei, a ti e à tua descendência.
14 And thy seede shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the West, and to the East, and to the North, and to the South, and in thee and in thy seede shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
14 A tua descendência será como o pó da terra; estender-te-ás para o Ocidente e para o Oriente, para o Norte e para o Sul. Em ti e na tua descendência serão abençoadas todas as famílias da terra.
15 And lo, I am with thee, and wil keepe thee whithersoeuer thou goest, and will bring thee againe into this lande: for I will not forsake thee vntill I haue performed that, that I haue promised thee.
15 Eis que eu estou contigo, e te guardarei por onde quer que fores, e te farei voltar a esta terra, porque te não desampararei, até cumprir eu aquilo que te hei referido.
16 Then Iaakob awoke out of his sleepe, and sayde, Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware.
16 Despertado Jacó do seu sono, disse: Na verdade, o Senhor está neste lugar, e eu não o sabia.
17 And he was afraid, and said, How fearefull is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heauen.
17 E, temendo, disse: Quão temível é este lugar! É a Casa de Deus, a porta dos céus.
18 Then Iaakob rose vp early in the morning, and tooke the stone that hee had layde vnder his head, and set it vp as a pillar, and powred oyle vpon the top of it.
18 Tendo-se levantado Jacó, cedo, de madrugada, tomou a pedra que havia posto por travesseiro e a erigiu em coluna, sobre cujo topo entornou azeite.
19 And he called ye name of that place Bethel: notwithstanding the name of the citie was at the first called Luz.
19 E ao lugar, cidade que outrora se chamava Luz, deu o nome de Betel.
20 Then Iaakob vowed a vowe, saying, If God will be with me, and will keepe me in this iourney which I go, and wil giue me bread to eate, and clothes to put on:
20 Fez também Jacó um voto, dizendo: Se Deus for comigo, e me guardar nesta jornada que empreendo, e me der pão para comer e roupa que me vista,
21 So that I come againe vnto my fathers house in safetie, then shall the Lord be my God.
21 de maneira que eu volte em paz para a casa de meu pai, então, o Senhor será o meu Deus;
22 And this stone, which I haue set vp as a pillar, shall be Gods house: and of all that thou shalt giue me, wil I giue the tenth vnto thee.
22 e a pedra, que erigi por coluna, será a Casa de Deus; e, de tudo quanto me concederes, certamente eu te darei o dízimo.
