1 And when Izhak was olde, and his eyes were dimme (so that he coulde not see) he called Esau his eldest sonne, and sayde vnto him, My sonne. And he answered him, I am here.
1 Tendo-se envelhecido Isaque e já não podendo ver, porque os olhos se lhe enfraqueciam, chamou a Esaú, seu filho mais velho, e lhe disse: Meu filho! Respondeu ele: Aqui estou!
2 Then he sayd, Beholde, I am nowe olde, and knowe not the day of my death:
2 Disse-lhe o pai: Estou velho e não sei o dia da minha morte.
3 Wherefore nowe, I pray thee take thine instruments, thy quiuer and thy bowe, and get thee to the fielde, that thou mayest take mee some venison.
3 Agora, pois, toma as tuas armas, a tua aljava e o teu arco, sai ao campo, e apanha para mim alguma caça,
4 Then make mee sauourie meate, such as I loue, and bring it me that I may eat, and that my soule may blesse thee, before I die.
4 e faze-me uma comida saborosa, como eu aprecio, e traze-ma, para que eu coma e te abençoe antes que eu morra.
5 (Nowe Rebekah heard, when Izhak spake to Esau his sonne) and Esau went into the fielde to hunt for venison, and to bring it.
5 Rebeca esteve escutando enquanto Isaque falava com Esaú, seu filho. E foi-se Esaú ao campo para apanhar a caça e trazê-la.
6 Then Rebekah spake vnto Iaakob her sonne, saying, Beholde, I haue heard thy father talking with Esau thy brother, saying,
6 Então, disse Rebeca a Jacó, seu filho: Ouvi teu pai falar com Esaú, teu irmão, assim:
7 Bring mee vension, and make mee sauourie meate, that I may eate and blesse thee before the Lord, afore my death.
7 Traze caça e faze-me uma comida saborosa, para que eu coma e te abençoe diante do Senhor , antes que eu morra.
8 Nowe therefore, my sonne, heare my voyce in that which I command thee.
8 Agora, pois, meu filho, atende às minhas palavras com que te ordeno.
9 Get thee nowe to the flocke, and bring me thence two good kids of the goates, that I may make pleasant meate of them for thy father, such as he loueth.
9 Vai ao rebanho e traze-me dois bons cabritos; deles farei uma saborosa comida para teu pai, como ele aprecia;
10 Then shalt thou bring it to thy father, and he shall eate, to the intent that he may blesse thee before his death.
10 levá-la-ás a teu pai, para que a coma e te abençoe, antes que morra.
11 But Iaakob sayde to Rebekah his mother, Beholde, Esau my brother is rough, and I am smoothe.
11 Disse Jacó a Rebeca, sua mãe: Esaú, meu irmão, é homem cabeludo, e eu, homem liso.
12 My father may possibly feele me, and I shall seem to him to be a mocker: so shall I bring a curse vpon me, and not a blessing.
12 Dar-se-á o caso de meu pai me apalpar, e passarei a seus olhos por zombador; assim, trarei sobre mim maldição e não bênção.
13 But his mother sayd vnto him, vpon me be thy curse, my sonne: onely heare my voyce, and go and bring me them.
13 Respondeu-lhe a mãe: Caia sobre mim essa maldição, meu filho; atende somente o que eu te digo, vai e traze-mos.
14 So he went and set them, and brought them to his mother: and his mother made pleasant meat, such as his father loued.
14 Ele foi, tomou-os e os trouxe a sua mãe, que fez uma saborosa comida, como o pai dele apreciava.
15 And Rebekah tooke faire clothes of her elder sonne Esau, which were in her house, and clothed Iaakob her yonger sonne:
15 Depois, tomou Rebeca a melhor roupa de Esaú, seu filho mais velho, roupa que tinha consigo em casa, e vestiu a Jacó, seu filho mais novo.
16 And she couered his hands and the smoothe of his necke with the skinnes of the kiddes of the goates.
16 Com a pele dos cabritos cobriu-lhe as mãos e a lisura do pescoço.
17 Afterward she put the pleasant meate and bread, which she had prepared, in the hand of her sonne Iaakob.
17 Então, entregou a Jacó, seu filho, a comida saborosa e o pão que havia preparado.
18 And when he came to his father, he sayd, My father. Who answered, I am here: who art thou, my sonne?
18 Jacó foi a seu pai e disse: Meu pai! Ele respondeu: Fala! Quem és tu, meu filho?
19 And Iaakob sayde to his father, I am Esau thy first borne, I haue done as thou badest me, arise, I pray thee: sit vp and eate of my venison, that thy soule may blesse me.
19 Respondeu Jacó a seu pai: Sou Esaú, teu primogênito; fiz o que me ordenaste. Levanta-te, pois, assenta-te e come da minha caça, para que me abençoes.
20 Then Izhak said vnto his sonne, Howe hast thou founde it so quickly my sonne? Who sayde, Because the Lord thy God brought it to mine hande.
20 Disse Isaque a seu filho: Como é isso que a pudeste achar tão depressa, meu filho? Ele respondeu: Porque o Senhor , teu Deus, a mandou ao meu encontro.
21 Againe sayde Izhak vnto Iaakob, Come neere nowe, that I may feele thee, my sonne, whether thou be that my sonne Esau or not.
21 Então, disse Isaque a Jacó: Chega-te aqui, para que eu te apalpe, meu filho, e veja se és meu filho Esaú ou não.
22 Then Iaakob came neere to Izhak his father, and he felt him and sayd, The voyce is Iaakobs voyce, but the hands are the hands of Esau.
22 Jacó chegou-se a Isaque, seu pai, que o apalpou e disse: A voz é de Jacó, porém as mãos são de Esaú.
23 (For he knewe him not, because his hands were rough as his brother Esaus hands: wherefore he blessed him)
23 E não o reconheceu, porque as mãos, com efeito, estavam peludas como as de seu irmão Esaú. E o abençoou.
24 Againe he sayd, Art thou that my sonne Esau? Who answered, Yea.
24 E lhe disse: És meu filho Esaú mesmo? Ele respondeu: Eu sou.
25 Then said he, Bring it me hither, and I will eate of my sonnes venison, that my soule may blesse thee. And he brought it to him, and he ate: also he brought him wine, and he dranke.
25 Então, disse: Chega isso para perto de mim, para que eu coma da caça de meu filho; para que eu te abençoe. Chegou-lho, e ele comeu; trouxe-lhe também vinho, e ele bebeu.
26 Afterward his father Izhak sayd vnto him, Come neere nowe, and kisse me, my sonne.
26 Então, lhe disse Isaque, seu pai: Chega-te e dá-me um beijo, meu filho.
27 And hee came neere and kissed him. Then he smellled the sauour of his garmentes, and blessed him, and sayde, Behold, the smelll of my sonne is as the smelll of a fielde, which the Lord hath blessed.
27 Ele se chegou e o beijou. Então, o pai aspirou o cheiro da roupa dele, e o abençoou, e disse: Eis que o cheiro do meu filho é como o cheiro do campo, que o
28 God giue thee therefore of the dewe of heauen, and the fatnesse of the earth, and plentie of wheate and wine.
28 Deus te dê do orvalho do céu, e da exuberância da terra, e fartura de trigo e de mosto.
29 Let people bee thy seruantes, and nations bowe vnto thee: be Lord ouer thy brethren, and let thy mothers children honour thee. cursed be he that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.
29 Sirvam-te povos, e nações te reverenciem; sê senhor de teus irmãos, e os filhos de tua mãe se encurvem a ti; maldito seja o que te amaldiçoar, e abençoado o que te abençoar.
30 And when Izhak had made an ende of blessing Iaakob, and Iaakob was scarce gone out from the presence of Izhak his father, then came Esau his brother from his hunting,
30 Mal acabara Isaque de abençoar a Jacó, tendo este saído da presença de Isaque, seu pai, chega Esaú, seu irmão, da sua caçada.
31 And hee also prepared sauourie meate and brought it to his father, and sayd vnto his father, Let my father arise, and eat of his sonnes venison, that thy soule may blesse me.
31 E fez também ele uma comida saborosa, a trouxe a seu pai e lhe disse: Levanta-te, meu pai, e come da caça de teu filho, para que me abençoes.
32 But his father Izhak sayde vnto him, Who art thou? And he answered, I am thy sonne, euen thy first borne Esau.
32 Perguntou-lhe Isaque, seu pai: Quem és tu? Sou Esaú, teu filho, o teu primogênito, respondeu.
33 Then Izhak was stricken with a marueilous great feare, and sayde, Who and where is hee that hunted venison, and brought it mee, and I haue eate of all before thou camest? and I haue blessed him, therefore he shalbe blessed.
33 Então, estremeceu Isaque de violenta comoção e disse: Quem é, pois, aquele que apanhou a caça e ma trouxe? Eu comi de tudo, antes que viesses, e o abençoei, e ele será abençoado.
34 When Esau heard the wordes of his father, he cryed out with a great crye and bitter, out of measure, and sayde vnto his father, Blesse me, euen me also, my father.
34 Como ouvisse Esaú tais palavras de seu pai, bradou com profundo amargor e lhe disse: Abençoa-me também a mim, meu pai!
35 Who answered, Thy brother came with subtiltie, and hath taken away thy blessing.
35 Respondeu-lhe o pai: Veio teu irmão astuciosamente e tomou a tua bênção.
36 Then he sayde, Was hee not iustly called Iaakob? for hee hath deceiued mee these two times: he tooke my birthright, and loe, nowe hath he taken my blessing. Also he sayd, Hast thou not reserued a blessing for me?
36 Disse Esaú: Não é com razão que se chama ele Jacó? Pois já duas vezes me enganou: tirou-me o direito de primogenitura e agora usurpa a bênção que era minha. Disse ainda: Não reservaste, pois, bênção nenhuma para mim?
37 Then Izhak answered, and sayd vnto Esau, Beholde, I haue made him thy lorde, and all his brethre haue I made his seruants: also with wheate and wine haue I furnished him, and vnto thee now what shall I doe, my sonne?
37 Então, respondeu Isaque a Esaú: Eis que o constituí em teu senhor, e todos os seus irmãos lhe dei por servos; de trigo e de mosto o apercebi; que me será dado fazer-te agora, meu filho?
38 Then Esau sayde vnto his father, Hast thou but one blessing my father? blesse mee, euen me also, my father: and Esau lifted vp his voyce, and wept.
38 Disse Esaú a seu pai: Acaso, tens uma única bênção, meu pai? Abençoa-me, também a mim, meu pai. E, levantando Esaú a voz, chorou.
39 Then Izhak his father answered, and sayde vnto him, Behold, the fatnesse of the earth shall be thy dwelling place, and thou shalt haue of the dewe of heauen from aboue.
39 Então, lhe respondeu Isaque, seu pai: Longe dos lugares férteis da terra será a tua habitação, e sem orvalho que cai do alto.
40 And by thy sword shalt thou liue, and shalt be thy brothers seruant. But it shall come to passe, when thou shalt get the masterie, that thou shalt breake his yoke from thy necke.
40 Viverás da tua espada e servirás a teu irmão; quando, porém, te libertares, sacudirás o seu jugo da tua cerviz.
41 Therefore Esau hated Iaakob, because of the blessing, wherewith his father blessed him. And Esau thought in his minde, The dayes of mourning for my father will come shortly, then I will slay may brother Iaakob.
41 Passou Esaú a odiar a Jacó por causa da bênção, com que seu pai o tinha abençoado; e disse consigo: Vêm próximos os dias de luto por meu pai; então, matarei a Jacó, meu irmão.
42 And it was told to Rebekah of the wordes of Esau her elder sonne, and shee sent and called Iaakob her yonger sonne, and sayd vnto him, Beholde, thy brother Esau is comforted against thee, meaning to kill thee:
42 Chegaram aos ouvidos de Rebeca estas palavras de Esaú, seu filho mais velho; ela, pois, mandou chamar a Jacó, seu filho mais moço, e lhe disse: Eis que Esaú, teu irmão, se consola a teu respeito, resolvendo matar-te.
43 Now therefore my sonne, heare my voyce, arise, and flee thou to Haran to my brother Laban,
43 Agora, pois, meu filho, ouve o que te digo: retira-te para a casa de Labão, meu irmão, em Harã;
44 And tarie with him a while vntill thy brothers fiercenesse be swaged,
44 fica com ele alguns dias, até que passe o furor de teu irmão,
45 And till thy brothers wrath turne away from thee, and hee forget the thinges, which thou hast done to him: then will I sende and take thee from thence: why shoulde I bee depriued of you both in one day?
45 e cesse o seu rancor contra ti, e se esqueça do que lhe fizeste. Então, providenciarei e te farei regressar de lá. Por que hei de eu perder os meus dois filhos num só dia?
46 Also Rebekah said to Izhak, I am weary of my life, for the daughters of Heth. If Iaakob take a wife of the daughters of Heth like these of the daughters of the lande, what auaileth it me to liue?
46 Disse Rebeca a Isaque: Aborrecida estou da minha vida, por causa das filhas de Hete; se Jacó tomar esposa dentre as filhas de Hete, tais como estas, as filhas desta terra, de que me servirá a vida?
