1 Nowe Abraham had taken him another wife called Keturah,
1 Abraão se casou outra vez, com uma mulher chamada Quetura.
2 Which bare him Zimran, and Iokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.
2 Ela deu à luz Zinrã, Jocsã, Medã, Midiã, Isbaque e Suá.
3 And Iokshan begate Sheba, and Dedan: And the sonnes of Dedan were Asshurim, and Letushim, and Leummim.
3 Jocsã gerou Sabá e Dedã. Os descendentes de Dedã foram os assuritas, os letusitas e os leumitas.
4 Also the sonnes of Midian were Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah all these were the sonnes of Keturah.
4 Os filhos de Midiã foram Efá, Éfer, Enoque, Abida e Elda. Todos eles foram descendentes de Abraão por meio de Quetura.
5 And Abraham gaue all his goods to Izhak,
5 Abraão deu tudo que possuía a seu filho Isaque.
6 But vnto the sonnes of the concubines, which Abraham had, Abraham gaue giftes, and sent them away from Izhak his sonne (while he yet liued) Eastward to the East countrey.
6 Antes de morrer, porém, deu presentes aos filhos de suas concubinas e os separou de Isaque, enviando-os para as terras do leste.
7 And this is the age of Abrahams life, which he liued, an hundreth seuentie and fiue yeere.
7 Abraão viveu 175 anos
8 Then Abraham yeelded the spirit, and died in a good age, an olde man, and of great yeeres, and was gathered to his people.
8 e morreu em boa velhice, depois de uma vida longa e feliz. Deu o último suspiro e, ao morrer, reuniu-se a seus antepassados.
9 And his sonnes, Izhak and Ishmael buryed him in the caue of Machpelah, in the fielde of Ephron sonne of Zohar the Hittite, before Mamre.
9 Seus filhos Isaque e Ismael o sepultaram na caverna de Macpela, perto de Manre, no campo de Efrom, filho de Zoar, o hitita.
10 Which fielde Abraham bought of the Hittites, where Abraham was buryed with Sarah his wife.
10 Esse era o campo que Abraão havia comprado dos hititas e onde havia sepultado Sara, sua mulher.
11 And after the death of Abraham God blessed Izhak his sonne, and Izhak dwelt by Beer-lahai-roi.
11 Depois da morte de Abraão, Deus abençoou Isaque, e ele se estabeleceu perto de Beer-Laai-Roi, no Neguebe.
12 Nowe these are the generations of Ishmael Abrahams sonne, whome Hagar the Egyptian Sarahs handmayde bare vnto Abraham.
12 Este é o relato da família de Ismael, filho de Abraão com Hagar, serva egípcia de Sara.
13 And these are the names of the sonnes of Ishmael, name by name, according to their kinreds; the eldest sonne of Ishmael was Nebaioth, then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
13 São estes os descendentes de Ismael por nome e clã: Nebaiote, o mais velho, seguido de Quedar, Adbeel, Misbão,
14 And Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,
14 Misma, Dumá, Massá,
15 Hadar, and Tema, Ietur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
15 Hadade, Temá, Jetur, Nafis e Quedemá.
16 These are the sonnes of Ishmael, and these are their names, by their townes and by their castles: to wit, twelue princes of their nations.
16 Esses doze filhos de Ismael deram origem a doze tribos, cada uma com o nome de seu fundador, relacionadas de acordo com o lugar onde se estabeleceram e acamparam.
17 (And these are the yeeres of the life of Ishmael, an hundreth thirtie and seuen yeere, and he yeelded the spirit, and dyed, and was gathered vnto his people)
17 Ismael viveu 137 anos. Deu o último suspiro e, ao morrer, reuniu-se a seus antepassados.
18 And they dwelt from Hauilah vnto Shur, that is towardes Egypt, as thou goest to Asshur. Ishmael dwelt in the presence of all his brethren.
18 Os descendentes de Ismael ocuparam a região que vai de Havilá a Sur, a leste do Egito, na direção de Assur. Ali, viveram em franca oposição a todos os seus parentes.
19 Likewise these are the generations of Izhak Abrahams sonne Abraham begate Izhak,
19 Este é o relato da família de Isaque, filho de Abraão.
20 And Izhak was fourtie yeere olde, when he tooke Rebekah to wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Aramite of Padan Aram, and sister to Laban the Aramite.
20 Quando Isaque tinha 40 anos, casou-se com Rebeca, filha de Betuel, o arameu de Padã-Arã, e irmã de Labão, o arameu.
21 And Izhak prayed vuto the Lord for his wife, because she was barren: and the Lord was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceiued,
21 Isaque orou ao S enhor em favor de sua mulher, pois ela não podia ter filhos. O S enhor ouviu a oração de Isaque, e Rebeca ficou grávida de gêmeos.
22 But the children stroue together within her: therefore shee sayde, Seeing it is so, why am I thus? wherefore she went to aske the Lord.
22 Os dois bebês lutavam um com o outro no ventre da mãe, de modo que ela consultou o S enhor a esse respeito. “Por que isso está acontecendo comigo?”, perguntou ela.
23 And the Lord sayd to her, Two nations are in thy wombe, and two maner of people shalbe diuided out of thy bowels, and the one people shall be mightier then the other, and the elder shall serue the yonger.
23 O S enhor respondeu: “Os filhos em seu ventre se tornarão duas nações. Desde o começo, elas serão rivais. Uma nação será mais forte que a outra, e seu filho mais velho servirá a seu filho mais novo”.
24 Therefore when her time of deliuerance was fulfilled, behold, twinnes were in her wombe.
24 Quando chegou a hora de dar à luz, Rebeca descobriu que, de fato, eram gêmeos.
25 So he that came out first was red, and he was all ouer as a rough garment, and they called his name Esau.
25 O primeiro a nascer era ruivo e coberto de pelos; por isso o chamaram de Esaú.
26 And afterward came his brother out, and his hande helde Esau by the heele: therefore his name was called Iaakob. Nowe Izhak was threescore yeere olde when Rebekah bare them.
26 Depois, nasceu o outro gêmeo, com a mão agarrada ao calcanhar de Esaú; por isso o chamaram de Jacó. Isaque tinha 60 anos quando os gêmeos nasceram.
27 And the boyes grew, and Esau was a cunning hunter, and liued in the fields: but Iaakob was a plaine man, and dwelt in tentes.
27 Os meninos cresceram. Esaú se tornou um caçador habilidoso que vivia ao ar livre, enquanto Jacó era mais pacato e preferia ficar em casa.
28 And Izhak loued Esau, for venison was his meate, but Rebekah loued Iaakob.
28 Isaque amava Esaú porque gostava de comer a carne de caça que ele trazia, mas Rebeca amava Jacó.
29 Nowe Iaakob sod pottage, and Esau came from the fielde and was wearie.
29 Certo dia, quando Jacó preparava um ensopado, Esaú chegou do deserto, exausto e faminto.
30 Then Esau sayd to Iaakob, Let me eate, I pray thee, of that pottage so red, for I am wearie. Therefore was his name called Edom.
30 “Estou faminto!”, disse ele a Jacó. “Dê-me um pouco desse ensopado vermelho!” (Por isso Esaú também ficou conhecido como Edom. )
31 And Iaakob sayd, Sell me euen nowe thy birthright.
31 “Está bem”, respondeu Jacó. “Mas, em troca, dê-me seus direitos de filho mais velho.”
32 And Esau sayd, Lo, I am almost dead, what is then this birthright to me?
32 “Estou morrendo de fome!”, disse Esaú. “De que me servem meus direitos de filho mais velho?”
33 Iaakob then said, Sweare to me euen now. And he sware to him, and solde his birthright vnto Iaakob.
33 Mas Jacó disse: “Primeiro, jure que seus direitos de filho mais velho agora são meus”. Esaú fez um juramento e, desse modo, vendeu todos os seus direitos de filho mais velho a seu irmão, Jacó.
34 Then Iaakob gaue Esau bread and pottage of lentiles: and he did eate and drinke, and rose vp, and went his way: So Esau contemned his birthright.
34 Então Jacó deu a Esaú um pedaço de pão e o ensopado de lentilhas. Esaú comeu, levantou-se e foi embora. Assim, ele desprezou seu direito de filho mais velho.
