1 If there be therfore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of loue, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any compassion and mercie,
1 Portanto, se existe alguma exortação em Cristo, alguma consolação de amor, alguma comunhão do Espírito, se há profundo afeto e sentimento de compaixão,
2 Fulfill my ioye, that ye be like minded, hauing the same loue, being of one accorde, and of one iudgement,
2 então completem a minha alegria, tendo o mesmo modo de pensar, tendo o mesmo amor e sendo unidos de alma e mente.
3 That nothing be done through contention or vaine glory, but that in meekenesse of minde euery man esteeme other better then himselfe.
3 Não façam nada por interesse pessoal ou vaidade, mas por humildade, cada um considerando os outros superiores a si mesmo,
4 Looke not euery man on his owne things, but euery man also on the things of other men.
4 não tendo em vista somente os seus próprios interesses, mas também os dos outros.
5 Let the same minde be in you that was euen in Christ Iesus,
5 Tenham entre vocês o mesmo modo de pensar de Cristo Jesus,
6 Who being in ye forme of God, thought it no robberie to be equall with God:
6 que, mesmo existindo na forma de Deus, não considerou o ser igual a Deus algo que deveria ser retido a qualquer custo.
7 But he made himself of no reputation, and tooke on him ye forme of a seruant, and was made like vnto men, and was founde in shape as a man.
7 Pelo contrário, ele se esvaziou, assumindo a forma de servo, tornando-se semelhante aos seres humanos. E, reconhecido em figura humana,
8 He humbled himselfe, and became obedient vnto the death, euen the death of the Crosse.
8 ele se humilhou, tornando-se obediente até a morte, e morte de cruz.
9 Wherefore God hath also highly exalted him, and giuen him a Name aboue euery name,
9 Por isso também Deus o exaltou sobremaneira e lhe deu o nome que está acima de todo nome,
10 That at the Name of Iesus shoulde euery knee bowe, both of things in heauen, and things in earth, and things vnder the earth,
10 para que ao nome de Jesus se dobre todo joelho, nos céus, na terra e debaixo da terra,
11 And that euery tongue shoulde confesse that Iesus Christ is the Lord, vnto the glory of God the Father.
11 e toda língua confesse que Jesus Cristo é Senhor, para glória de Deus Pai.
12 Wherefore my beloued, as ye haue alwayes obeyed me, not as in my presence only, but now much more in mine absence, so make an end of your owne saluation with feare and trembling.
12 Assim, meus amados, como vocês sempre obedeceram, não só na minha presença, porém, muito mais agora, na minha ausência, desenvolvam a sua salvação com temor e tremor,
13 For it is God which worketh in you, both the will and the deede, euen of his good pleasure.
13 porque Deus é quem efetua em vocês tanto o querer como o realizar, segundo a sua boa vontade.
14 Do all things without murmuring and reasonings,
14 Façam tudo sem murmurações nem discussões,
15 That ye may be blamelesse, and pure, and the sonnes of God without rebuke in the middes of a naughtie and crooked nation, among whom yee shine as lights in the world,
15 para que sejam irrepreensíveis e puros, filhos de Deus inculpáveis no meio de uma geração pervertida e corrupta, na qual vocês brilham como luzeiros no mundo,
16 Holding forth the worde of life, that I may reioyce in the day of Christ, that I haue not runne in vaine, neither haue laboured in vaine.
16 preservando a palavra da vida. Assim, no Dia de Cristo, poderei me gloriar de que não corri em vão, nem me esforcei inutilmente.
17 Yea, and though I bee offered vp vpon the sacrifice, and seruice of your faith, I am glad, and reioyce with you all.
17 Entretanto, mesmo que eu seja oferecido como libação sobre o sacrifício e serviço da fé que vocês têm, fico contente e me alegro com todos vocês.
18 For the same cause also be ye glad, and reioyce with me.
18 Assim, também vocês, pela mesma razão, fiquem contentes e se alegrem comigo.
19 And I trust in the Lord Iesus, to sende Timotheus shortly vnto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I knowe your state.
19 Espero no Senhor Jesus enviar-lhes Timóteo o mais breve possível, a fim de que eu me sinta animado também ao receber notícias de vocês.
20 For I haue no man like minded, who will faithfully care for your matters.
20 Porque não tenho ninguém com esse mesmo sentimento e que se preocupe tão sinceramente por vocês.
21 For all seeke their owne, and not that which is Iesus Christes.
21 Todos os outros buscam os seus próprios interesses e não os de Jesus Cristo.
22 But yee knowe the proofe of him, that as a sonne with the father, hee hath serued with me in the Gospel.
22 Quanto a Timóteo, vocês conhecem o seu caráter provado, pois serviu ao evangelho, junto comigo, como um filho trabalha ao lado do pai.
23 Him therefore I hope to send assoone as I knowe howe it will goe with me,
23 Portanto, este é quem espero enviar, tão logo eu saiba como vai ficar a minha situação.
24 And trust in the Lord, that I also my selfe shall come shortly.
24 Mas confio no Senhor que também eu mesmo em breve irei até aí.
25 But I supposed it necessarie to sende my brother Epaphroditus vnto you, my companion in labour, and fellowe souldier, euen your messenger, and he that ministred vnto me such things as I wanted.
25 No entanto, julguei necessário enviar-lhes Epafrodito, meu irmão, cooperador e companheiro de lutas, e, da parte de vocês, mensageiro e auxiliar nas minhas necessidades.
26 For he longed after all you, and was full of heauinesse, because yee had heard that hee had beene sicke.
26 Ele tinha muita saudade de todos vocês e estava angustiado porque vocês ficaram sabendo que ele adoeceu.
27 And no doubt he was sicke, very neere vnto death: but God had mercie on him, and not on him onely, but on me also, least I should haue sorowe vpon sorowe.
27 De fato, adoeceu e estava à beira da morte. Mas Deus se compadeceu dele — e não somente dele, mas também de mim —, para que eu não tivesse tristeza sobre tristeza.
28 I sent him therefore the more diligently, that when yee shoulde see him againe, yee might reioyce, and I might be the lesse sorowfull.
28 Por isso, tanto mais me apresso em mandá-lo, para que, vendo-o novamente, vocês fiquem alegres e eu tenha menos tristeza.
29 Receiue him therefore in the Lord with all gladnesse, and make much of such:
29 Recebam-no, pois, no Senhor, com toda a alegria, e honrem sempre os que são como ele.
30 Because that for the woorke of Christ he was neere vnto death, and regarded not his life, to fulfill that seruice which was lacking on your part towarde me.
30 Porque, por causa da obra de Cristo, ele quase morreu, arriscando a própria vida, para suprir a ajuda que vocês não podiam me dar pessoalmente.
