1 And in the eleuenth yeere, in the third moneth, and in the first day of the moneth the worde of the Lord came vnto me, saying,
1 No undécimo ano, no terceiro mês, no primeiro dia do mês, veio a mim a palavra do Senhor , dizendo:
2 Sonne of man, speake vnto Pharaoh King of Egypt, and to his multitude, Whom art thou like in thy greatnesse?
2 Filho do homem, dize a Faraó, rei do Egito, e à multidão do seu povo: A quem és semelhante na tua grandeza?
3 Beholde, Asshur was like a cedar in Lebanon with faire branches, and with thicke shadowing boughes, and shot vp very hye, and his toppe was among the thicke boughes.
3 Eis que a Assíria era um cedro no Líbano, de lindos ramos, de sombrosa folhagem, de grande estatura, cujo topo estava entre os ramos espessos.
4 The waters nourished him, and the deepe exalted him on hie with her riuers running round about his plants, and sent out her litle riuers vnto all the trees of the fielde.
4 As águas o fizeram crescer, as fontes das profundezas da terra o exalçaram e fizeram correr as torrentes no lugar em que estava plantado, enviando ribeiros para todas as árvores do campo.
5 Therefore his height was exalted aboue all the trees of the fielde, and his boughes were multiplied, and his branches were long, because of the multitude of the waters, which the deepe sent out.
5 Por isso, se elevou a sua estatura sobre todas as árvores do campo, e se multiplicaram os seus ramos, e se alongaram as suas varas, por causa das muitas águas durante o seu crescimento.
6 All the foules of the heauen made their nestes in his boughes, and vnder his branches did all the beastes of the fielde bring foorth their yong, and vnder his shadowe dwelt all mightie nations.
6 Todas as aves do céu se aninhavam nos seus ramos, todos os animais do campo geravam debaixo da sua fronde, e todos os grandes povos se assentavam à sua sombra.
7 Thus was he faire in his greatnesse, and in the length of his branches: for his roote was neere great waters.
7 Assim, era ele formoso na sua grandeza e na extensão dos seus ramos, porque a sua raiz estava junto às muitas águas.
8 The cedars in the garden of God coulde not hide him: no firre tree was like his branches, and the chessenut trees were not like his boughes: all the trees in the garden of God were not like vnto him in his beautie.
8 Os cedros no jardim de Deus não lhe eram rivais; os ciprestes não igualavam os seus ramos, e os plátanos não tinham renovos como os seus; nenhuma árvore no jardim de Deus se assemelhava a ele na sua formosura.
9 I made him faire by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, enuied him.
9 Formoso o fiz com a multidão dos seus ramos; todas as árvores do Éden, que estavam no jardim de Deus, tiveram inveja dele.
10 Therefore thus sayeth the Lord God, Because he is lift vp on high, and hath shot vp his toppe among the thicke boughes, and his heart is lift vp in his height,
10 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor Deus: Como sobremaneira se elevou, e se levantou o seu topo no meio dos espessos ramos, e o seu coração se exalçou na sua altura,
11 I haue therefore deliuered him into the handes of the mightiest among the heathen: he shall handle him, for I haue cast him away for his wickednesse.
11 eu o entregarei nas mãos da mais poderosa das nações, que lhe dará o tratamento segundo merece a sua perversidade; lançá-lo-ei fora.
12 And the strangers haue destroyed him, euen the terrible nations, and they haue left him vpon the mountaines, and in all the valleis his branches are fallen, and his boughes are broken by all the riuers of the land: and all the people of the earth are departed from his shadowe, and haue forsaken him.
12 Os mais terríveis estrangeiros das nações o cortaram e o deixaram; caíram os seus ramos sobre os montes e por todos os vales; os seus renovos foram quebrados por todas as correntes da terra; todos os povos da terra se retiraram da sua sombra e o deixaram.
13 Vpon his ruine shall all the foules of the heauen remaine, and all the beastes of the fielde shall be vpon his branches,
13 Todas as aves do céu habitarão na sua ruína, e todos os animais do campo se acolherão sob os seus ramos,
14 So that none of all the trees by the waters shalbe exalted by their height, neither shall shoote vp their toppe among the thicke boughes, neither shall their leaues stand vp in their height, which drinke so much water: for they are all deliuered vnto death in the nether partes of the earth in the middes of the children of men among them that goe downe to the pit.
14 para que todas as árvores junto às águas não se exaltem na sua estatura, nem levantem o seu topo no meio dos ramos espessos, nem as que bebem as águas venham a confiar em si, por causa da sua altura; porque todos os orgulhosos estão entregues à morte e se abismarão às profundezas da terra, no meio dos filhos dos homens, com os que descem à cova.
15 Thus saith the Lord God, In the day when he went downe to hell, I caused them to mourne, and I couered the deepe for him, and I did restreine the floods thereof, and the great waters were stayed: I caused Lebanon to mourne for him, and all the trees of the fielde fainted.
15 Assim diz o Senhor Deus: No dia em que ele passou para o além, fiz eu que houvesse luto; por sua causa, cobri a profundeza da terra, retive as suas correntes, e as suas muitas águas se detiveram; cobri o Líbano de preto, por causa dele, e todas as árvores do campo desfaleceram por causa dele.
16 I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him downe to hell with them that descend into the pit, and all the excellent trees of Eden, and the best of Lebanon: euen all that are nourished with waters, shall be comforted in the nether partes of the earth.
16 Ao som da sua queda, fiz tremer as nações, quando o fiz passar para o além com os que descem à cova; todas as árvores do Éden, a fina flor e o melhor do Líbano, todas as que foram regadas pelas águas se consolavam nas profundezas da terra.
17 They also went downe to hell with him vnto them that be slaine with the sworde, and his arme, and they that dwelt vnder his shadowe in the middes of the heathen.
17 Também estas, com ele, passarão para o além, a juntar-se aos que foram traspassados à espada; sim, aos que foram seu braço e que estavam assentados à sombra no meio das nações.
18 To whom art thou thus like in glorie and in greatnesse among the trees of Eden? yet thou shalt be cast downe with the trees of Eden vnto the nether partes of the earth: thou shalt sleepe in the middes of the vncircumcised, with them that be slaine by the sworde: this is Pharaoh and all his multitude, sayth the Lord God.
18 A quem, pois, és semelhante em glória e em grandeza entre as árvores do Éden? Todavia, descerás com as árvores do Éden às profundezas da terra; no meio dos incircuncisos, jazerás com os que foram traspassados à espada; este é Faraó e toda a sua pompa, diz o Senhor Deus.
