1 Againe the Lord saide vnto Moses, Goe to Pharaoh: for I haue hardened his heart, and the heart of his seruants, that I might worke these my miracles in the middes of his realme,
1 Disse o Senhor a Moisés: Vai ter com Faraó, porque lhe endureci o coração e o coração de seus oficiais, para que eu faça estes meus sinais no meio deles,
2 And that thou maist declare in the eares of thy sonne, and of thy sonnes sonne, what things I haue done in Egypt, and my miracles, which I haue done among them: that ye may knowe that I am the Lord.
2 e para que contes a teus filhos e aos filhos de teus filhos como zombei dos egípcios e quantos prodígios fiz no meio deles, e para que saibais que eu sou o Senhor .
3 Then came Moses and Aaron vnto Pharaoh, and they said vnto him, Thus saith the Lord God of the Ebrewes, Howe long wilt thou refuse to humble thy selfe before me? Let my people goe, that they may serue me.
3 Apresentaram-se, pois, Moisés e Arão perante Faraó e lhe disseram: Assim diz o Senhor , o Deus dos hebreus: Até quando recusarás humilhar-te perante mim? Deixa ir o meu povo, para que me sirva.
4 But if thou refuse to let my people go, beholde, to morowe will I bring grashoppers into thy coastes.
4 Do contrário, se recusares deixar ir o meu povo, eis que amanhã trarei gafanhotos ao teu território;
5 And they shall couer the face of the earth, that a man can not see the earth: and they shall eate the residue which remaineth vnto you, and hath escaped from the haile: and they shall eate all your trees that bud in the fielde.
5 eles cobrirão de tal maneira a face da terra, que dela nada aparecerá; eles comerão o restante que escapou, o que vos resta da chuva de pedras, e comerão toda árvore que vos cresce no campo;
6 And they shall fil thine houses, and all thy seruants houses, and the houses of all the Egyptians, as neither thy fathers, nor thy fathers fathers haue seene, since the time they were vpon the earth vnto this day. So he returned, and went out from Pharaoh.
6 e encherão as tuas casas, e as casas de todos os teus oficiais, e as casas de todos os egípcios, como nunca viram teus pais, nem os teus antepassados desde o dia em que se acharam na terra até ao dia de hoje. Virou-se e saiu da presença de Faraó.
7 Then Pharaohs seruants saide vnto him, How long shall he be an offence vnto vs? let the men go, that they may serue the Lord their God: wilt thou first knowe that Egypt is destroyed?
7 Então, os oficiais de Faraó lhe disseram: Até quando nos será por cilada este homem? Deixa ir os homens, para que sirvam ao Senhor , seu Deus. Acaso, não sabes ainda que o Egito está arruinado?
8 So Moses and Aaron were brought againe vnto Pharaoh, and he saide vnto them, Goe, serue the Lord your God, but who are they that shall goe?
8 Então, Moisés e Arão foram conduzidos à presença de Faraó; e este lhes disse: Ide, servi ao Senhor , vosso Deus; porém quais são os que hão de ir?
9 And Moses answered, We will go with our yong and with our olde, with our sonnes and with our daughters, with our sheepe and with our cattell will we goe: for we must celebrate a feast vnto the Lord.
9 Respondeu-lhe Moisés: Havemos de ir com os nossos jovens, e com os nossos velhos, e com os filhos, e com as filhas, e com os nossos rebanhos, e com os nossos gados; havemos de ir, porque temos de celebrar festa ao Senhor .
10 And he said vnto them, Let the Lord so be with you, as I will let you goe and your children: beholde, for euill is before your face.
10 Replicou-lhes Faraó: Seja o Senhor convosco, caso eu vos deixe ir e as crianças. Vede, pois tendes conosco más intenções.
11 It shall not be so: nowe goe ye that are men, and serue the Lord: for that was your desire. Then they were thrust out from Pharaohs presence.
11 Não há de ser assim; ide somente vós, os homens, e servi ao Senhor ; pois isso é o que pedistes. E os expulsaram da presença de Faraó.
12 After, the Lord said vnto Moses, Stretch out thine hande vpon the lande of Egypt for the grashoppers, that they may come vpon the lande of Egypt, and eate all the herbes of the land, euen all that the haile hath left.
12 Então, disse o Senhor a Moisés: Estende a mão sobre a terra do Egito, para que venham os gafanhotos sobre a terra do Egito e comam toda a erva da terra, tudo o que deixou a chuva de pedras.
13 Then Moses stretched foorth his rod vpon the lande of Egypt: and the Lord brought an East winde vpon the land all that day, and al that night: and in the morning the East wind brought the grashoppers.
13 Estendeu, pois, Moisés o seu bordão sobre a terra do Egito, e o Senhor trouxe sobre a terra um vento oriental todo aquele dia e toda aquela noite; quando amanheceu, o vento oriental tinha trazido os gafanhotos.
14 So the grashoppers went vp vpon all the land of Egypt, and remained in all quarters of Egypt: so grieuous Grashoppers, like to these were neuer before, neither after them shalbe such.
14 E subiram os gafanhotos por toda a terra do Egito e pousaram sobre todo o seu território; eram mui numerosos; antes destes, nunca houve tais gafanhotos, nem depois deles virão outros assim.
15 For they couered all the face of the earth, so that the lande was darke: and they did eate all the herbes of the lande, and all the fruites of the trees, which the haile had left, so that there was no greene thing left vpon the trees, nor among the herbes of the fielde throughout all the lande of Egypt.
15 Porque cobriram a superfície de toda a terra, de modo que a terra se escureceu; devoraram toda a erva da terra e todo fruto das árvores que deixara a chuva de pedras; e não restou nada verde nas árvores, nem na erva do campo, em toda a terra do Egito.
16 Therefore Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste, and sayde, I haue sinned against the Lord your God, and against you.
16 Então, se apressou Faraó em chamar a Moisés e a Arão e lhes disse: Pequei contra o Senhor , vosso Deus, e contra vós outros.
17 And nowe forgiue mee my sinne onely this once, and pray vnto the Lord your God, that hee may take away from me this death onely.
17 Agora, pois, peço-vos que me perdoeis o pecado esta vez ainda e que oreis ao Senhor , vosso Deus, que tire de mim esta morte.
18 Moses then went out from Pharaoh, and prayed vnto the Lord.
18 E Moisés, tendo saído da presença de Faraó, orou ao Senhor .
19 And the Lord turned a mightie strong West winde, and tooke away the grashoppers, and violently cast them into the red Sea, so that there remained not one grashopper in all the coast of Egypt.
19 Então, o Senhor fez soprar fortíssimo vento ocidental, o qual levantou os gafanhotos e os lançou no mar Vermelho; nem ainda um só gafanhoto restou em todo o território do Egito.
20 But the Lord hardened Pharaohs heart, and hee did not let the children of Israel goe.
20 O Senhor , porém, endureceu o coração de Faraó, e este não deixou ir os filhos de Israel.
21 Againe ye Lord said vnto Moses, Stretch out thine hand toward heauen, that there may be vpon the lande of Egypt darkenesse, euen darkenesse that may be felt.
21 Então, disse o Senhor a Moisés: Estende a mão para o céu, e virão trevas sobre a terra do Egito, trevas que se possam apalpar.
22 Then Moses stretched forth his hande towarde heauen, and there was a blacke darkenesse in all the land of Egypt three daies.
22 Estendeu, pois, Moisés a mão para o céu, e houve trevas espessas sobre toda a terra do Egito por três dias;
23 No man saw an other, neither rose vp from ye place where he was for three dayes: but all the children of Israel had light where they dwelt.
23 não viram uns aos outros, e ninguém se levantou do seu lugar por três dias; porém todos os filhos de Israel tinham luz nas suas habitações.
24 The Pharaoh called for Moses and said, Go, serue the Lord: onely your sheepe and your cattel shall abide, and your children shall go with you.
24 Então, Faraó chamou a Moisés e lhe disse: Ide, servi ao Senhor . Fiquem somente os vossos rebanhos e o vosso gado; as vossas crianças irão também convosco.
25 And Moses sayd, Thou must giue vs also sacrifices, and burnt offrings that wee may doe sacrifice vnto the Lord our God.
25 Respondeu Moisés: Também tu nos tens de dar em nossas mãos sacrifícios e holocaustos, que ofereçamos ao Senhor , nosso Deus.
26 Therefore our cattell also shall go with vs: there shall not an hoofe bee left, for thereof must we take to serue the Lord our God: neither doe wee knowe howe we shall serue the Lord, vntill we come thither.
26 E também os nossos rebanhos irão conosco, nem uma unha ficará; porque deles havemos de tomar, para servir ao Senhor , nosso Deus, e não sabemos com que havemos de servir ao Senhor , até que cheguemos lá.
27 (But the Lord hardened Pharaohs heart, and he would not let them goe)
27 O Senhor , porém, endureceu o coração de Faraó, e este não quis deixá-los ir.
28 And Pharaoh sayde vnto him, Get thee from mee: looke thou see my face no more: for whensoeuer thou commest in my sight, thou shalt dye.
28 Disse, pois, Faraó a Moisés: Retira-te de mim e guarda-te que não mais vejas o meu rosto; porque, no dia em que vires o meu rosto, morrerás.
29 Then Moses said, Thou hast said well: from henceforth will I see thy face no more.
29 Respondeu-lhe Moisés: Bem disseste; nunca mais tornarei eu a ver o teu rosto.
