1 So in the twelft moneth, which is the moneth Adar, vpon the thirteenth daye of the same, when the Kings commandement and his decree drew neere to be put in execution, in the day that the enemies of the Iewes hoped to haue power ouer them (but it turned contrary: for the Iewes had rule ouer them that hated them)
1 Ora, no décimo segundo mês, isto é, o mês de adar, no décimo terceiro dia do mesmo, quando se aproximava o momento da execução do mandamento do rei e do seu decreto, no dia em que os inimigos dos judeus esperavam ter poder sobre eles, (embora isto fora tornado ao contrário, para que os judeus tivessem domínio sobre aqueles que os odiavam);
2 The Iewes gathered themselues together into their cities throughout all the prouinces of the King Ahashuerosh, to lay hande on such as sought their hurt, and no man coulde withstande them: for the feare of them fel vpon al people.
2 os judeus se reuniram nas cidades, em todas as províncias do rei Assuero, para lançar mão sobre os tais que procuravam o seu mal; e homem nenhum conseguiu resistir-lhes, pois o medo deles sobreveio a todos os povos.
3 And all the rulers of the prouinces, and the princes and the captaines, and the officers of the King exalted the Iewes: for the feare of Mordecai fell vpon them.
3 E todos os governantes das províncias, e os tenentes, e os vice-reis, e oficiais do rei, ajudaram os judeus; porque o medo de Mardoqueu lhes sobreveio.
4 For Mordecai was great in the kings house, and the report of him went through all the prouinces: for this man Mordecai waxed greater and greater.
4 Porque Mardoqueu foi grande na casa do rei, e a sua fama se espalhou por todas as províncias; porque o homem Mardoqueu tornou-se maior e maior.
5 Thus the Iewes smote all their enemies with strokes of the sworde and slaughter, and destruction, and did what they woulde vnto those that hated them.
5 Assim, os judeus feriram todos os seus inimigos, a golpes de espada, com matança e com destruição, e fizeram o que fariam àqueles que lhes odiavam.
6 And at Shushan the palace slewe the Iewes and destroyed fiue hundreth men,
6 E no palácio de Susã os judeus mataram e destruíram quinhentos homens.
7 And Parshandatha, and Dalphon, and Aspatha,
7 E a Parsandata, e a Dalfom, e a Aspata,
8 And Poratha, and Adalia, and Aridatha,
8 e a Porata, e a Adalia, e a Aridata,
9 And Parmashta, and Arisai, and Aridai, and Vaiezatha,
9 e a Farmasta, e a Arisai, e a Aridai, e a Vaizata,
10 The ten sonnes of Haman, ye sonne of Ammedatha, the aduersarie of the Iewes slewe they: but they layd not their hands on the spoyle.
10 os dez filhos de Hamã, os filhos de Hamedata, os inimigos dos judeus, mataram, porém ao despojo não puseram a mão.
11 On the same day came ye nomber of those that were slayne, vnto the palace of Shushan before the King.
11 Naquele dia, trouxeram diante do rei o número daqueles que foram mortos no palácio de Susã.
12 And the King sayd vnto the Queene Ester, The Iewes haue slayne in Shushan the palace and destroyed fiue hundreth men, and the ten sonnes of Haman: what haue they done in the rest of the Kings prouinces? and what is thy petition, that it may be giuen thee? or what is thy request moreouer, that it may be performed?
12 E o rei disse à rainha Ester: No palácio de Susã os judeus mataram e destruíram quinhentos homens, e os dez filhos de Hamã; o que terão feito eles no resto das províncias do rei? Agora qual é a tua petição? E ela te será concedida, ou, qual é o teu outro pedido? E ele será feito.
13 Then sayd Ester, If it please the King, let it be granted also to morow to the Iewes that are in Shushan, to do according vnto this daies decree, that they may hang vpon ye tree Hamans ten sonnes.
13 Então disse Ester: Se aprouver ao rei, que seja concedido aos judeus que estão em Susã fazerem, amanhã, também de acordo com o decreto deste dia, que os dez filhos de Hamã sejam enforcados nas forcas.
14 And the King charged to doe so, and the decree was giuen at Shushan, and they hanged Hamans ten sonnes.
14 E o rei ordenou que isto fosse feito; e o decreto foi dado em Susã; e eles enforcaram os dez filhos de Hamã.
15 So the Iewes that were in Shushan, assembled themselues vpon the fourteenth day of the moneth Adar, and slew three hundreth men in Shushan, but on the spoyle they layd not their hand.
15 Os judeus que estavam em Susã se reuniram também no décimo quarto dia do mês de adar, e mataram trezentos homens em Susã; porém ao despojo não lançaram a sua mão.
16 And the rest of the Iewes that were in the Kings prouinces assembled themselues, and stood for their liues, and had rest from their enemies, and slewe of them that hated them, seuentie and fiue thousand: but they layd not their hand on the spoyle.
16 Todavia, os outros judeus que estavam nas províncias do rei reuniram-se, e se levantaram pelas suas vidas, e tiveram descanso dos seus inimigos, e mataram dos seus adversários setenta e cinco mil; porém ao despojo não lançaram as suas mãos.
17 This they did on the thirteenth day of the moneth Adar, and rested the fourteenth day thereof, and kept it a day of feasting and ioy.
17 No décimo terceiro dia do mês de adar; e no décimo quarto dia do mesmo descansaram, e fizeram-no dia de banquetes e de júbilo.
18 But the Iewes that were in Shushan assembled themselues on the thirteenth day, and on the fourteenth therof, and they rested on the fifteenth of the same, and kept it a day of feasting and ioy.
18 Contudo, os judeus que estavam em Susã se reuniram no décimo terceiro dia, e no décimo quarto; e no décimo quinto dia eles descansaram, e fizeram-no dia de banquetes e de júbilo.
19 Therefore the Iewes of the villages that dwelt in the vnwalled townes, kept the foureteenth day of the moneth Adar with ioy and feasting, euen a ioyfull day, and euery one sent presents vnto his neighbour.
19 Portanto, os judeus das vilas, que habitavam nas cidades não fortificadas, fizeram do décimo quarto dia do mês de adar um dia de júbilo e de banquetes, e um bom dia, e de envio de porções uns aos outros.
20 And Mordecai wrote these words, and sent letters vnto all the Iewes that were through all the prouinces of the King Ahashuerosh, both neere and farre,
20 E Mardoqueu escreveu estas coisas, e enviou cartas a todos os judeus que estavam em todas as províncias do rei Assuero, aos de perto e de longe,
21 Inioyning them that they shoulde keepe the fourteenth day of the moneth Adar, and the fifteenth day of the same, euery yeere.
21 para estabelecer isto entre eles, para que pudessem celebrar o décimo quarto dia do mês de adar, e no décimo quinto dia do mesmo, anualmente,
22 According to the dayes wherein the Iewes rested from their enemies, and the moneth which was turned vnto them from sorowe to ioy, and from mourning into a ioyfull day, to keepe them the dayes of feasting, and ioy, and to sende presents euery man to his neyghbour, and giftes to the poore.
22 como os dias em que os judeus tiveram descanso dos seus inimigos, e como o mês que se lhes mudou de tristeza em alegria, e de lamento e de luto em dia de festa para que os fizessem dias de banquetes e de júbilo, e enviassem porções uns aos outros, e presentes para os pobres.
23 And the Iewes promised to do as they had begun, and as Mordecai had written vnto them,
23 E os judeus se encarregaram de fazer como haviam iniciado, e como Mardoqueu lhes havia escrito;
24 Because Haman the sonne of Hammedatha the Agagite al the Iewes aduersarie, had imagined against the Iewes, to destroy them, and had cast Pur (that is a lot) to consume and destroy them.
24 porque Hamã, o filho de Hamedata, o agagita, o inimigo de todos os judeus, havia planejado contra os judeus para destruí-los, e havia lançado Pur, isto é, a sorte, para consumi-los, e para destruí-los;
25 And when she came before the King, he commanded by letters, Let this wicked deuise (which he imagined against the Iewes) turne vpon his owne head, and let them hang him and his sonnes on the tree.
25 no entanto, quando Ester veio diante do rei, ele ordenou por cartas que o seu plano iníquo, o qual ele maquinou contra os judeus, recaísse sobre a sua própria cabeça, e que ele e os seus filhos fossem enforcados na forca.
26 Therfore they called these dayes Purim, by the name of Pur, and because of all the wordes of this letter, and of that which they had seene besides this, and of that which had come vnto them.
26 Por isso chamaram aqueles dias de Purim, por causa do nome de Pur. Portanto, por todas as palavras desta carta, e daquela que eles haviam visto acerca desta questão, e que lhes havia chegado,
27 The Iewes also ordeined, and promised for them and for their seede, and for all that ioyned vnto them, that they would not faile to obserue those two dayes euery yeere, according to their writing, and according to their season,
27 os judeus ordenaram, e tomaram sobre si, e sobre a sua semente, e sobre todos os que achegassem a eles, de modo que não houvesse falha, que eles celebrariam estes dois dias, conforme o seu escrito, e de acordo com o seu tempo marcado a cada ano;
28 And that these dayes shoulde be remembred, and kept throughout euery generation and euery familie, and euery prouince, and euery citie: euen these daies of Purim should not faile among the Iewes, and the memoriall of them should not perish from their seede.
28 e que estes dias deveriam ser lembrados e celebrados por cada geração, cada família, cada província, e cada cidade; e que esses dias de Purim não deveriam falhar dentre os judeus, nem o seu memorial perecer da sua semente.
29 And the Queene Ester ye daughter of Abihail and Mordecai the Iew wrote with al authoritie (to cofirme this letter of Purim ye second time)
29 Então Ester, a rainha, a filha de Abiail, e o judeu Mardoqueu, escreveu com toda autoridade, para confirmar esta segunda carta de Purim.
30 And he sent letters vnto al the Iewes to the hundreth and seuen and twentie prouinces of the kingdome of Ahashuerosh, with words of peace and trueth,
30 E ele enviou as cartas para todos os judeus, para cento e vinte e sete províncias do reino de Assuero, com palavras de paz e verdade,
31 To confirme these dayes of Purim, according to their seasons, as Mordecai the Iewe and Ester the Queene had appointed them, and as they had promised for them selues and for their seede with fasting and prayer.
31 para confirmar estes dias de Purim nos seus tempos determinados, como o judeu Mardoqueu e a rainha Ester lhes tinham ordenado, e como eles tinham decretado por si e pela sua semente, acerca dos jejuns e do seu clamor.
32 And the decree of Ester confirmed these words of Purim, and was written in the booke.
32 E o decreto de Ester confirmou estas questões de Purim; e ele foi escrito no livro.
