1 Pavl an Apostle of Jesvs Christ by the will of God, to the Saints, which are at Ephesus, and to ye faithfull in Christ Iesus:
1 Paulo, apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, pela vontade de Deus, aos cristãos de Éfeso e aos que crêem em Jesus Cristo.
2 Grace be with you, and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ.
2 A vós, graça e paz da parte de Deus, nosso Pai, e da parte do Senhor Jesus Cristo!
3 Blessed be God, and the Father of our Lord Iesus Christ, which hath blessed vs with all spirituall blessing in heauenly thinges in Christ,
3 Bendito seja Deus, Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, que do alto do céu nos abençoou com toda a bênção espiritual em Cristo,
4 As hee hath chosen vs in him, before the foundation of the worlde, that we should be holy, and without blame before him in loue:
4 e nos escolheu nele antes da criação do mundo, para sermos santos e irrepreensíveis, diante de seus olhos.
5 Who hath predestinate vs, to be adopted through Iesus Christ in him selfe, according to the good pleasure of his will,
5 No seu amor nos predestinou para sermos adotados como filhos seus por Jesus Cristo, segundo o beneplácito de sua livre vontade,
6 To the prayse of the glory of his grace, wherewith he hath made vs freely accepted in his beloued,
6 para fazer resplandecer a sua maravilhosa graça, que nos foi concedida por ele no Bem-amado.
7 By whom we haue redemption through his blood, euen the forgiuenes of sinnes, according to his rich grace:
7 Nesse Filho, pelo seu sangue, temos a Redenção, a remissão dos pecados, segundo as riquezas da sua graça
8 Whereby he hath bene aboundant toward vs in all wisedome and vnderstanding,
8 que derramou profusamente sobre nós, em torrentes de sabedoria e de prudência.
9 And hath opened vnto vs the mysterie of his will according to his good pleasure, which he had purposed in him,
9 Ele nos manifestou o misterioso desígnio de sua vontade, que em sua benevolência formara desde sempre,
10 That in the dispensation of the fulnesse of the times, he might gather together in one all things, both which are in heauen, and which are in earth, euen in Christ:
10 para realizá-lo na plenitude dos tempos - desígnio de reunir em Cristo todas as coisas, as que estão nos céus e as que estão na terra.
11 In whom also we are chosen when we were predestinate according to ye purpose of him, which worketh all things after the counsell of his owne will,
11 Nele é que fomos escolhidos, predestinados segundo o desígnio daquele que tudo realiza por um ato deliberado de sua vontade,
12 That we, which first trusted in Christ, should be vnto the praise of his glorie:
12 para servirmos à celebração de sua glória, nós que desde o começo voltamos nossas esperanças para Cristo.
13 In whom also ye haue trusted, after that ye heard the worde of trueth, euen the Gospel of your saluation, wherein also after that ye beleeued, ye were sealed with the holy Spirite of promise,
13 Nele também vós, depois de terdes ouvido a palavra da verdade, o Evangelho de vossa salvação no qual tendes crido, fostes selados com o Espírito Santo que fora prometido,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance, for the redemption of that libertie purchased vnto the prayse of his glory.
14 que é o penhor da nossa herança, enquanto esperamos a completa redenção daqueles que Deus adquiriu para o louvor da sua glória.
15 Therefore also after that I heard of the faith, which ye haue in the Lord Iesus, and loue toward all the Saints,
15 Por isso também eu, tendo ouvido falar da vossa fé no Senhor Jesus, e do amor para com todos os cristãos,
16 I cease not to giue thankes for you, making mention of you in my prayers,
16 não cesso de dar graças a Deus por vós, lembrando-me de vós nas minhas orações.
17 That the God of our Lord Iesus Christ, that Father of glory, might giue vnto you the Spirit of wisedome, and reuelation through the acknowledging of him,
17 Rogo ao Deus de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, o Pai da glória, vos dê um espírito de sabedoria que vos revele o conhecimento dele;
18 That the eyes of your vnderstanding may be lightened, that ye may knowe what the hope is of his calling, and what the riches of his glorious inheritance is in the Saints,
18 que ilumine os olhos do vosso coração, para que compreendais a que esperança fostes chamados, quão rica e gloriosa é a herança que ele reserva aos santos,
19 And what is the exceeding greatnesse of his power toward vs, which beleeue, according to the working of his mightie power,
19 e qual a suprema grandeza de seu poder para conosco, que abraçamos a fé. É o mesmo poder extraordinário que
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his right hand in the heauenly places,
20 ele manifestou na pessoa de Cristo, ressuscitando-o dos mortos e fazendo-o sentar à sua direita no céu,
21 Farre aboue al principalitie, and power, and might, and domination, and euery Name, that is named, not in this world only, but also in that that is to come,
21 acima de todo principado, potestade, virtude, dominação e de todo nome que possa haver neste mundo como no futuro.
22 And hath made all things subiect vnder his feete, and hath giuen him ouer all things to be the head to the Church,
22 E sujeitou a seus pés todas as coisas, e o constituiu chefe supremo da Igreja,
23 Which is his body, euen the fulnesse of him that filleth all in all things.
23 que é o seu corpo, o receptáculo daquele que enche todas as coisas sob todos os aspectos.
